“You’ll see,” she whispered. “Love will win. Somehow, love will win. Trust me. I believe it with all of my heart.”

High Witch is a Fantasy/ Paranormal Romance Novella with a really interesting plot. It’s about Ariel a very powerful witch who doesn’t know that her kind of power is unique, there are only 3 witches in the world at a time

This was quite the quixotic love story.

I won this book through LibraryThing's member giveaways. Yay for free books!

It was a very short read as I finished it in about two hours (if that).

High Witch is a story about a young couple who first find each other through mysterious circumstances and love at first sight ensues.

Brayden, a young man who works at the local INN, has been having a recurring dream for the past 30 days. A beautiful young woman is kissing him and telling him

I haven't read too many books with witches but I am quite interested in reading some of them. I had High Witch by Mona Hanna on my wishlist and, after reading it, I can only say that it was different from what I've expected it to be but I really liked it!

The story follows Brayden, a young man who keeps having the same dream in the past month. When a young woman comes to the inn he works at, the man starts to have a strange feeling.

I don’t usually read novellas. I find them to be too short and they usually don’t have the meat I search for in a story. When I read the official synopsis for Mona Hanna’s “High Witch,” I decided to make an exception. I’m glad I did. The story follows Ariel and Brayden, two people in their twenties, who meet and fall in love. Unlike many love stories, falling in love is the easy part for this couple. Ariel is a High Witch, maki

This book had its good aspects, but it also had its bad. While I didn’t completely love this story, I think that the story line was a very good idea. I just think that it could have been expended upon better. There wasn’t that much that changed in the different character’s aspects.

The characters didn’t seem to be completely developed to me, and that lead for it to be a hard read. I couldn’t seem to connect with them. While I felt bad for Ariel’s character at times, to be hav

I was given a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Brayden works at an inn and has been having dreams about a young woman. He has been having these dreams every single night for the last thirty days. For the last thirty nights he has woken up during the middle of the night because of the dreams. In his dreams he is kissing this woman and she keeps telling him to find her. The human body can only take so much from stress and from waking up every night before it starts to ha

Not at all what I expected.
I thought this would be a story all about a High Witch, and it was, but it was mostly a romance novel.
The relationship and romance between Ariel and Brayden is sweet. Keep in mind Ariel is the High Witch, so it also has its' share of adventure along the way too.
I really liked the unpredictable ending. Not at all what I anticipated, but that was good.
Lots fo paranormal romance fans will think this is a solid read. It is good, just not great.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review the name drew me because I love anything paranormal though I must admit I totally hate the cover the blurb is a little short but right to the point.

I don't like how the book started with Brayden in love with Ariel as soon as he sees her even though he's been having dreams about her it just didn't sit right with me the way it was written. I also found it strange that him having no magic would attempt to train a witch. And that having no magic

this book is really good, i'm glad i won the second one in a giveaway because i do want to read it.
i think i could have read it faster then i did, because it's really tiny.
there was a little to much kissing for me, but the magic part was good.
so was the story it self.

High Witch by Mona Hanna is the first story in her High Witch series and is a novella of around 80 pages. We’re introduced to Ariel, a witch who has no idea how powerful she is, and Brayden, who has been dreaming of her and falls in love with her nearly instantly. I enjoyed the unique storyline and the characters. The pacing of the story was a little slow at times and some of the writing style/dialogue wasn’t my cup of tea. However, none of this was enough to really take away from the s

This is the first novella of a series of two books that I received from Library Thing--there are actually 4 novellas (two different series) in the book.

It's a story about Ariel who is trying to escape from a pre-arranged marriage and Brayden, who keeps dreaming of a sensuous woman (Ariel). They meet and fall in love. Ariel tells her story to Brayden and he finds out she is one of three High Witches and the one she was supposed to marry , is the devil. Brayden tells of the history and helps Ariel
I'm giving this one 3.5 Stars because I "liked it" but feel it could have been vastly improved. I like the story concept a lot. It just felt like the characters themselves were simply thrown out there and not fleshed out. I felt no emotion or connection to them. It was basically... run, train, sex, run, train, sex. This could have been a gem of a story if the sex had been switched out with touching scenes of getting to truly know each other. These characters felt more like they were 15 and havin ...more

Quite a short book, which read to me like it was written by a younger person for teenagers. I liked the idea of the all-powerful high witch, but wasn't entirely convinced by the relationship between the two main characters. I found the high witch herself a bit limp in parts, quite a traditional female. One thing I did like was how quickly they got it on, I found that quite unusual in a romance story like this, and quite realistic.

Reasonably entertaining but not sure if I would recommend for adul

I was highly disappointed with this book. The storyline could have been great (the only reason it's not a 1 star review) but it felt like it was written by a high school student. And not the Christopher Paolini kind! The reader was dropped into the middle of the story, background information was almost an afterthought, the same phrases were used over and over and over, there wasn't much "feeling" between the two characters (believable feelings anyway)...

I can sum up just about the whole book in
Okay, so I finally worked up the nerve to write a review and I was told it has to be completely honest so here goes.
This wasn't really my kind of book. It kind of had a really old-school vibe and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. But I feel like there was a total disconnect between the time period and the characterization.
The story line wasn't horrible but the relationship between the two main characters just progressed too damn fast. I mean they literally met on page 3 and then were h

A couple of days ago, I found out that I had won the eBook ‘Witch Emerging’ by Mona Hanna. In the email, it said that it was the second book in the series, and that I could download the first book ‘High Witch’ for free from Smashwords. And so I did.

High Witch is a novella of approximately 82 pages, and revolves around Ariel and Brayden, and their battle against the bad Julius and his Nadia. Of course, since it’s only 82 pages, I expected nothing much to happen but I was quite surprised. Because

I just finished reading this novella a moment ago as I write this and I am still feeling positively shaky.

When I found this novella on Goodreads it was listed under "paranormal", which is something that usually will make sure I never touch the book. Yet this is in its essence just a high fantasy novella with a heavy focus on the romance between the two main characters.

It can safely be said that this was a read that kept growing on me: I started out thinking this would be a two star read at best,
Please note: I have won this book at the Goodreads Give-away in exchange for a (honest) review. This will not affect my opinion.

Let me first start with the fact that this book is a novella, meaning it took me just around one hour to finish this book. This is both an advantage or a dis-advantage.

I have found novellas to be a quick, easy read when I'm travelling from and to the company I'm currently doing an internship (an one hour and fourty-five minutes drive by bus). They are light and don't t

I was really excited to read this book because the description was intriguing and the cover was beautiful! Sadly, I was quite disappointed.

The Writing: The writing in this novella was okay. There was not much inherently wrong with it but there wasn’t anything special about it. There was also too much dialogue in my opinion. So instead of descriptive paragraphs, everything was being explained via conversations. There
Ariel Walker isn’t welcomed by society. She’s a witch who’s on her own and scared of people. But not everyone is leery of her. A young man named Brayden, who’s employed at the inn where she’s staying, is captivated by Ariel from the moment he sees her, and for good reason. Ariel is the same woman who’s been appearing in his dreams for the past month. Given that she is only one of three witches in the world with extraordinary power, and that a relative of Brayden’s will do anything to control her ...more

High Witch is a novella Fantasy Romance written by the Australian author Mona Hanna. It is a book with an interesting story: it has magic, action, adventure and love, lots of love. The main characters are Brayden and Ariel, a young couple in their mid-twenties. They fall deeply in love for each other and find themselves in one of the biggest and most dangerous adventures in their lives.

They love grow stronger as they have to overcome fear and a lot of difficulties in their way. All because of a

This novella was a quick, not un-enjoyable read.

What I liked: the beginning. Hanna had me at the beginning. I couldn't wait to meet Ariel and learn about her secrets. The cover is very fun, and portrays the genre well, although I'm not sure it's entirely applicable. The ideas that Hanna works around, the three High Witches, is a really solid piece. This is something that I think a great story could expand from. But this novella just didn't quite hit it.

Hanna employs very vivid descriptions, while still maintaining an extremely realistic feel to her work. She is very good at laying out the concepts behind and within the story without breaking the flow of the action, and this novella does have a fair bit of that. As a whole, her writing style draws you in very easily. You find yourself wandering along with the characters without even realising it was happening.

The main characters have been developed enough to carry the storyline. The minor chara

But Ariel has never been taught about her powers, though with Brayden's help she do
    An Ok short read

The concept of the story is actually an intriguing one, however the brevity of the story limits this book's potential. The characters were not fleshed out to be anything more than two dimensional and while their love story is nice it didn't have depth. I love stories that make you feel happy/sad along with the characters, but with this one I just wasn't feeling it. Sorry. Thanks to the author for her work.
