Mandy's Review:

Although short, UNLEASH THE CURSE tells a complete story like you would read in a standard sized novel. The reader is initially introduced to these characters in Ms. Egan's first book, DEMON'S CURSE. And, while you can read UNLEASH THE CURSE by itself, I think you would need to read DEMON'S CURSE first to get a real sense of who they are and the complexities of their relationships with each other.

Sarah's low-bred social position prevents her from being with the one man she truly l
The Window Seat
For an e-novella to work as part of an ongoing series it has to tie the full length books together while telling a stand-alone story within the same world. Author Alexa Egan does her best to satisfy both of these “rules” within the story Unleash the Curse, but she makes mistakes in the telling that renders it a confusing and probably unnecessary addition to the Imnada Brotherhood series.

Within the first book Demon’s Curse, Lord and Lady Deane were important secondary characters who protected the

It's a while since I’ve had a foray into historical novels so this sounded a fun read. I like to keep my reading varied, and sometime something different is welcome. Anyway this is an e-novella, the prequel to the second novel in the dark and sexy Imnada Brotherhood trilogy. I've not read the first novel but these appear to be standalone books, within a framework of era and type of fantasy, so it was easy to f

Unleash the Curse (Imnada Brotherhood #1.5) by Alexa Egan

Set in Yorkshire, February 1816. Actress Sarah Hayes and Sebastian Commin, Earl of Deane, have been avoiding each other for the past six months following a one-night stand. Now they are placed in an awkward situation after both being invited to a multiple day house party.

Truth be told, Sarah and Sebastian are both attracted to each other but allow their station to dictate their lives. Now they are involved in the mystery o
Sarah could not stop her passions even though in her head she knew that society, and life would expect her too. But her greatest fear is what he would think of himself if she allowed him to woo her, to win her, to marry her. So she was upset when he ended up at the country estate she had been invited to, she was trying as hard as she could to not be in the same room as him, or be near him. But terrible and tragic events will make it all mute, and the sacrifice they both are willing to make will ...more

As a species the Imnada seem like a potentially interesting shape-shifter.
At the moment I am at a loss to say what exactly they are. Hairy, big and beastlike is the best I can come up with.
At the moment the series is a combination of romance meets paranormal with the romance side getting more of a legs up. If the author wants to stay more grounded in the para genre then the shifter/creature/fey storyline needs to be developed a wee bit more. Give those monstrous soul-feeders a chance to shine.
Not knowing that there was another book before this one, the story had me a little lost because I felt like I was missing something. Other then that it was a good read.
I've picked this up several times and put it down just a minute or so later. It's just not drawing me in.
