The Daddy Rock is a very emotionally moving book. From what I understand this is the first work by this author, and I was impressed with this as a debut novel. The story is heartbreaking, but in the end is very much about renewed hope and moving forward after a shattered life.

I liked the plot and was eager to continue turning pages and uncovering the secrets about the past of the main character. One Thing that kept me going throughout this story was the way the author shared the internal feelin

l will start this review by saying that 'The Daddy Rock' is outside my normal reading taste. That said, I'll divide this review into two parts. First, judging the book itself, it is one of those delightful surprises that defies classification within a single genre. Danny, who is no stranger himself to feeling alone and out ...more

Retired NYPD officer, Michael Kannengieser's compelling first novel leaves us hungry for more from this new author. Not an action novel, (though there is certainly enough), nor a police procedural, as might be surmised from the first few pages, THE DADDY ROCK is a heartfelt story of a possibly suicidal cop coming to terms with his past.
This is an engrossing and satisfying first novel, and I am looking forward to the next work from this new and gifted story-teller.
