An exciting story of life and death in ancient Mayan times.

Through the power of ancient Mayan magic the three young people, plus a modern-day Mayan friend, are taken back in time where they are forced to deal with terrible treachery that threatens the whole of Mayan civilization. Together with new friends they learn to overcome, not just the enemy, but the dangers and challenges of the untamed jungle and the endless caves beneath it.

A great story focusing on three teens as they grapple with ancient Mayan myths and a prophecy which must be fulfilled.
I particularly enjoyed the atmospheric setting in Belize amongst the rainforest and the ruins of Mayan civilisation.
The author clearly has knowledge of both to be able to include the sounds and sights and sensory experiences so realistically. It made the story vivid.
