Spike: A Dark Place (Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 9: Spike #3)

Spike meets a demon in distress and a familiar, exceptionally nasty duo that are all after something buried in the rubble formerly known as Sunnydale. For a vampire with a soul and an aching heart, dabbling in a little villainy is a welcome distraction. But Spike will have to beware if the distraction becomes too much to handle . . .

Steps will be taken, steps will be taken. These bugs are always saying this. They are like an army of Dobbys. They are looking out for Spike's best interests, but have NO idea what those are. They are going to foil his plans yet again. Not that I think he has a plan right now. Other than help this Courtesan Demon.

Only two issues left. We're passed the halfway point. I wonder what this demon is really about. The only thing I know for sure is that I neeeeeeeeed to catch up on these comics.

This one was alrite. A fun little flashback in the beginning to Spike's earlier years was a treat, as those flashbacks always are. But really the rest of the comic felt like it was filler. Just moving us from one place to the next. Which I understand is sometimes necessary since comics are so short sometimes there just isn't room in an issue to do more than move us to the next scene. Still a nice little read. Hopefully there is more action in the next issue.

Not quite sure what purpose Pearl & Nash served turning up here. I hope their little jaunt to Sunnydale ends up tying in to A&F somehow, otherwise I don't get it. Much preferred the 2nd half which got all exposition-y with the Succubus (do we know her name? I forget). Onwards, to the Hellmouth (somewhere, not Cleveland I'm guessing) and the last 2 issues!
