The name Cheveyo Singer will live forever in infamy.
Until my best friend and partner, Tony Romano, was kidnapped, I thought I was the biggest freak on the planet. As it turns out, being an empath doesn't even make the top ten. When I rescued Tony, nothing could have prepared me for what I uncovered. All the magical creatures from legend truly exist and they want my head. A

Truth’s Evil Light opens with a glossary of Greek words and pronunciation, and a cast list. Hmmmm, I thought to myself, this is going to be interesting. Why has the author chosen to use Greek as the language for her characters’ magic? I have not seen that done before. Personally, I would have preferred these at the back. It’s dry reading to face at the onset of a story, and a cast list suggests too many characters, which is a bit off-putting.

However, my misgivings soon faded as I was absorbed in

This is the first urban Fantasy book I’ve read, and I’m glad I did, I thoroughly enjoyed this story. McGregor tells an excellent tale of crime and magic interwoven through portals of our world and the Zephyri world of many a strange and marvellous creature. Indulging us in Greek Mythology along the way, not only does she create a whole new world within our own, but she feeds it a history to run parallel given it credence and sustainability.

The lead character, Chevy, is a great protagonist, who l

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair, honest review.

First I want to say that I absolutely loved this book, enjoyed every second. I enjoyed the world building and the attention to detail that Michaela poured into this novel. I loved the bits of romance mixed into the paranormal/action nature of the book, especially that the romance was allowed to be there, but it didn't overwhelm the rest of the story.

I was immediately enamored of the book when I found it started with a glos

This is a book I won on goodreads. I picked it up not knowing what to expect. Well, I couldn't put it down! It is an amazing story, and I cannot wait for the second book to be released. There are vampires, humans, brownies, sirens, ogres, pixies, fairies, and other creatures I'm sure I have forgotten. This is a novel of how humans might react if they found out these fairy tale creatures really existed. I would recommend this book to anyone. Hurry up, Ms. McGregor. I can't wait to see what ...more

I don’t know where Michaela McGregor came from, I don’t really care if you’re a Zephyri or not, I’m just super glad that you wrote this story. When I got this book in the mail I was intrigued by the cover – almost simple in its design. What I can tell you folks is this, there’s nothing about this story that is simplistic (in a good way). The story is complex but told in a way that is very understandable and very easy to read and more importantly easy to follow. The ‘otherworld’ starts out ...more

Truth's Evil Light is the first Urban Fantasy book I've ever read, and one of the few books I've read in the fantasy genre. I received a free copy of this book so that I could write a review and I'm very glad I did. Since it is the first I've read in this genre, I don't have very much to compare it with. However, I found the book very entertaining and interesting. The main character, Cheveyo, is a bit sarcastic, which I did find rather tiresome after a while, however this did not interfere with ...more

I really enjoyed this read. There are only a few things that keep it from being a five star for me. First there is a glossary at the beginning of the book that explains numerous words and translations. As I started reading the book, especially since I am reading an ebook, the glossary was daunting and I was very concerned that I was not going to be able to understand the dialogue of the characters right off the bat or that I would have to memorize the language just to get started. Had I not ...more

I received this book for free in exchange for my honest opinion and review.

I gave this book 5 stars are her is why:

'Truths Evil Light' focuses on 'Chevy'a young CIA agent - who is forced into the world of paranormal when her partner is kidnapped and she find him along with other creatures of the night.

In my opinion there are three love interests for her including; Kegan - the sexy Scottish vampire who has saved her life on more than one occasion, Aspen - The fairy with an attitude but can commun

Chevyo Singer is an empath who was raised in government facilities after the sudden and violent death of her parents when she was a child. Her partner, Tony who is like a brother to her is kidnapped. In the process of rescuing him, she inadvertantly exposes the Zephyri to the world, a group made up of all manner of extraordinary creatures, previously assumed to be myth. The one thing that I didn't care for about Chevy is that she tends to fly off the handle and throw what I would call childish ...more

I absolutely loved this book! The characters were well developed and a great plot. My only complaint is that I have to wait for the next book to come out. (Soon, hopefully!)

Supply and demand determine how precious something is. I have one life to live. You do the math, I suck at it.

Middle age is swiftly approaching. I have 3 daughters, ages, 12, 14 and 22. My oldest has given me the most wonderful gift, a granddaughter. I try not to spoil her. Don't laugh, I do try. My husband is the most supportive man on the planet. Is he perfect? Not on your life but then neither
