This was a fantastic book with some very emotional moments. There were also some pretty funny things to help offset some of the angst. I really liked both Mattie and Finn, though he wasn't very nice at the beginning. Mattie gave up her gypsy-like existence when Bridget got sick and came home to Valley Ridge to take care of her friend and her children. When Bridget passed she left Mattie with custody of the children. Now she has to learn to be a parent instead of the favorite aunt and she is feel...more

Love Holly Jacobs books. This one was mostly family-type stuff, not overtly sexy. Very good read.

I actually read the Kindle edition of this book, but I don't see it. This was a wonderful book about family and friends, and tough decisions. It was a fast read for me because I was anxious to see what happened next.

I loved the small town setting, as well as the hero and heroine and secondary characters. I wish I could visit the town of Valley Ridge and have some coffee in the coffee shop, and buy a bottle of wine. (My books are set in W(h)ine Country).

This is a closed door romance, but that didn't bother me because I was so invested in the story being told. If you enjoy blended families, characters not realizing they've fallen in love until they're there, and children who are not plot moppets, you might like this book. There's perhaps a little too much "rah rah small towns," but in context, I got it. I also thought it did a good job with how overwhelming it must be to have children dropped into your life like that.
