This is a thoroughly involving tale. Thomas like the other engines is very excited and intrigued by the happenings at Ulstead Castle. There are a few running jokes like Percy keeps thinking a suit of armour comes to life.
The character of Stephen is a touch of genius. The theme of the very first engine trying to adapt to modern Sodor is well handled. He is engaging and it is funny when he retorts to Diesel as being 'Mr Oily'.
The only slight criticism is when Thomas is trying to find Stephen and e
I enjoyed this think the tank engine story.
This is a good story about friendship, in typical Thomas the Tank Engine style. There are bad guys who try to hurt the good guys, but the good guys always win out in the end. There is a mystery to solve along the way, too. Best for readers who are interested in Thomas stories.
