Christopher Saunders
The author of Tarka the Otter recounts his friendship with T.E. Lawrence. Williamson presents some interesting and valuable material, including reproductions of Lawrence's letters and correspondence over matters literary and personal. Unfortunately, Williamson's affection towards Lawrence borders on unhealthy hero worship; his final passages imagine Lawrence as a fascist strongman leading England to renewed glory.
