Until one of this author's works appeared on Netgalley, I'd never heard of Lisa Cach. You can imagine my surprise when, upon reading what sounded like an Ancient Rome version of KUSHIEL'S DART, I found myself instead sucked into what was actually a pretty interesting and darkly erotic work of fiction.
Immediately afterward, I went on Goodreads and added everything from this author's back list onto my to-read list.

The hero has been banished to a country estate after a very public scandal involving a dead lover and a bastard child. Overall, he's a kind natured man but honestly a tad selfish as well.
