Bartholomew Barton hadn’t a clue why the two couples he sat sandwiched between needed to be so damned amorous. He certainly hadn’t acted that way when he had been married—none of the times. Maybe the couples mistook the particularly nasty turbulence for their last moments together. If so, how right they would soon be.

Thousands of miles away, on the other side of the countr

Possibly the best thing about the advent of digital publishing is the ability for anyone to publish what they've written. This allows for authors who would otherwise likely never have published anything to be read the world over. Some of these works that I've stumbled across courtesy of Amazon have been incredible diamonds in the rough; some shoulde never have made it off their author's computer. Joshua Wright's The Unlikely Event falls somewhere between these two extremes, but thankfully closer ...more

This was a free offering on Amazon today and I read it all today. It is a "contained thriller" of the highest order, the bulk of the story taking place on a flight from Washington State to Hawaii. I read it all in one day because I did not want to stop and do anything else. It has unique characters with back stories. It has unrelenting action. It has scenes of gore that are just plain sick. It has zingers and wit that make you smile, laugh, and groan. There is mystery as we are given glimpses ...more

I loved almost everything about this book. Definitely one of the better zombie reads out there! My only complaint is editing--there were a few issues with homonyms being confused and that sort of thing. Not a ton, just enough to be noticeable. Otherwise, I really loved it! What a terrifying idea! I'm hoping for a continued series.

This is one of the few zombie books where I was so offended by the general plot and gratuitous gore, I couldn't finish it. So bad.

This book cracked me up... and made me cringe (in a good way). I totally saw the ending a mile before I got there but loved it the whole way. The girl in the bathroom and the pregnant lady, yeah, those were the cringe worthy moments. (shivers!)

These were different than the norm zombies in the way that they had some form of muddled rational thought and they seemed to have super-speed despite their crippling injuries, ie. missing tendons to hold muscle and they still spring u

This book is a great horror read! I kept turning the pages even though I had one hand over my eyes as I read!! I would have liked to have known more back story on the characters but I hear the author is going to turn this into a trilogy. Can't wait for more!!
