Well, this is a new one for me. I had planned until the last page to give this a five star rating, but something happened on the last page that knocked the book down to a four star rating. Without giving out any spoilers, let's get the negative out of the way right now. Yes, there is a lot of profanity in the book that I could have done without. It is definitely "hard core" profanity, but this did not affect the rating of the book. There are sexual encounters in the book, but this did not mark ...more

Well-crafted story but non-charsmatic characters

Having read Frank Nappi's two original novels - ECHOES FROM THE INFANTRY (brilliant) and THE LEGEND OF MICKEY TUSSLER (involving) - this reader had very high expectations for NOBODY HAS TO KNOW. That Nappi is a superb author now goes without saying. He is a superb wordsmith, a magician in developing three-dimensional characters, and he has the knack for momentary disruption of a storyline in order to clarify a new character's or situation's signifi

Having read and loved Frank Nappi’s other books (Echoes from the Infantry & the Mickey Tussler series), I was surprised to learn that he was writing a psychological thriller – very different genre from these previous titles. However, since I find his storytelling to be so compelling I immediately downloaded NOBODY HAS TO KNOW and immediately knew (pun intended) that Nappi can write anything. Nappi’s latest draws you in from the first few pages – and leaves you second guessing and making ...more

Cam is twenty-five years old, teaching at Hillcrest Highschool, and in a long-term relationship with his college sweetheart. A relationship where he can’t seem to commit himself to the final step.

He should have listened to his mentor’s words – “Remember, you can be friendly with these kids, but you are not their friend….. Especially the girls. That’s just trouble waiting to happen.”

Well, trouble finds Cam or does he find it? A beautiful, vulnerable young girl tests the boundaries between student

My Review:

The Good: Normally, this is where I rave on about the characters and how much I loved them. In Nobody Has to Know, it was different and so this may come out sounding backward but hang with me, okay? I really, really disliked these characters on the whole. Now, in some books, that could be the final nail in the coffin but in this one? It was perfect! Seriously. I do not think we needed to love or even like the characters. They needed to be despicable for the story to hold it's water. Fr

DARK! DARING! This story blazes through your mind! Move over James Patterson; here comes Frank Nappi.

"Nobody Has to Know" blazes through your mind with an original kind of perversity. I can't believe how good Frank Nappi is, whether he's writing about military veterans, an autistic baseball player and his caring coach (as in previous award-winning books, see endnote below) or about illicit feelings of love and lust between a teacher and his student...as in this shocking, gripping book.

Cameron Baldridge affectionately known to his students as Mr. B., is an enthusiastic English teacher. He brings the novels of Uncle Tom's Cabin and Macbeth alive by using swords or YouTube videos. The handsome twenty-five year old

I received the book from the Touring Host for an honest review.

Standing applause for this well written fast paced thriller! The ending had me dumbfounded, I just did not see it coming. The author's cunning writing kept me glued to the book as I read this book in one sitting. The intriguing world of teachers and pupils stepped up a notch with this thought provoking, and mind blowing thriller. You get so engrossed with the main character Cameron Baldridge life, his career, and that of his pupils t

Whew this one is not an easy read. I did not find myself rooting for the main character, Cameron Baldridge, a popular high school teacher. Instead I was quite angry at him for not taking the right path. I could not feel pity even. Instead I was out raged that he gave in to temptation. Now do not think that was all for me though. You see I have always had the curiosity about why people do things they know is wrong. Where in their heads does it start to feel right or justified. Frank Nappi ...more

Sex, lies, and cell phones, all things that put Cam in a tight spot.
High school teacher Cameron Baldridge has his very own after school special with a student. I guess he doesn’t watch Lifetime (or the news) much because he would have known that these things never end well. He seemingly has it all, job, girlfriend, and youth but for some reason wasn’t feeling it, “his relationship had grown stale, predictable and now contentious.” So taking up with a high school student was supposed to make thi

After reading a few of the reviews on Goodreads and then on Amazon, I decided to download NOBODY HAS TO KNOW. NOBODY HAS TO KNOW has been well-received so far, was written by an author I already really like, and Nelson DeMille endorsed it; I couldn't go wrong. Truth be told I am so glad I read it. Nappi impresses me most in his ability to tell a story. The same skill he employed for his other novels he repeats here. The story grabbed me from the opening and shocked me at its closing. This book is not what I expected it to be, in a good way. I thought this was going to be another story like we hear on the news about a teacher falling "in love" with a student. I was pleasantly surprised.

Cameron is a teacher. He is respected and loved by many. As with many beloved male teachers over the years, some of the girls started to have a crush on him. What he does with that is inexcusable though.

I found myself in disbelief and disgusted by many of Cameron's actions. I could not believe

Nobody Has To Know is the first book that I have read by Frank Nappi and it is very different from any of the books I have read.

Cameron Balridge is a good looking young man who teaches at a high school. He is liked by many of the students and staff. A few of the female students like him a lot more. Even though he is in a serious relationship with a woman, he starts having feelings for one of his female students. He knows that it is wrong but the temptation is there and that if anyone finds out

Twenty-five year old Cameron Balridge, a high school teacher, has been with Hayley Lofton for a few years before three high school students turn his world upside down. Samantha Brocking is one of the most popular girls at the school. Melanie Randolph is the straight “A” student with no social life. Nikki is an early bloomer that has "Mr. B’s" loins set afire. Now Nikki is dead and Samantha is missing. Hayley isn't going to like what Cameron has to tell her.

There is nothing like a woman scorned.

Frank pens "Nobody Has To Know" in a thrilling plot with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. His characters are complex and interesting in this haunting tale and will stay with you long after you finish the book. I was totally captivated with this novel and had a really hard time putting it down. Frank Nappi just got a new fan...me! Highly recommended for all thriller fans.

‘Nobody Has to Know’ is a twisted tale of murder, betrayal, & forbidden love.
Cam is a teacher who’s just a few years older than the high school students he teaches. Charming with looks to match, all the young girls try to catch his eye. Anyone with a half a brain knows that teachers cannot date their students. Nikki, however, is too much for Cam to resist. Beautiful & willing, the two soon begin talking outside the classroom. Risking the loss of his career, his fiancée, & even jail

The story was engaging and kept me reading, but it also contained some of the most unlikable characters I have ever met in fiction. Almost from the first page I moaned and groaned about the poor choices and escalating repercussions of Cameron’s decisions. I had immense difficulty seeing Cam as the savvy, well-liked educator that he is purported to be. Early on, I took a dislike to his weak obsessing and tendency to wallow in misery. The numerous flashbacks to an early trauma with his first ...more

Nobody Has to Know is a journey of a teacher named Cameron Baldridge, Cam or Mr. B.... He should "have remembered John Volpe's words. 'Remember, you can be friendly with these kids, but you are not their friend... Especially the girls. That's just trouble waiting to happen.'"

Cam falls for one of his students, Nikki. His own relationship at home with his extremely busy businesswoman, Hayley Lofton, is very rocky. It's Hayley's negativity that I think throws the poor guy off his rocker.

Did I enjoy this book: For the most part, I did enjoy this book. It was not a book that I had to read every free chance I had until I hit the last quarter of the book which had me glued to my Kindle. There were a lot of twists and turns that kept me interested. And that was an ending that I did not see coming at all!

I thought this book was awesome!

In Frank Nappi’s “Nobody Has to Know”, Frank takes you into the world of Cameron Baldridge. ‘Cam’ or ‘Mr. Baldridge’ as he is referred to during this story; is a high school English teacher in a relationship with a busy, business woman. Plagued by past relationships, Cam can’t quite settle down. Surrounded by teenagers; many who are intrigued by him, you will see that only one intrigues him.

As Cam invites you into his thoughts, his desires and internal angst; you

A few more pages, ' And I was wrong again, so this is the main focus of the book'. Towards the end, 'Wait, what? You've got to be kidding me'.

This was a definitely a thrilling and mysterious story, that leads you guessing, until really the last chapter. I liked how there was not really one voice, one POV; it was great narration and you will read more about the characters, their background, sometimes, well a lot of it was troubling, and for me, that just made me understand them better.

As a $2.99 reduced offer from Amazon, I wasn't too sure how good this book was going to be. After a quick glance, I couldn't find a bad review anywhere, so proceeded with my purchase.
It didn't take too long to read and had a good flow, although I was pleased when the ending arrived. This book is incredibly unique. Not just that it is also very realistic. This book shows that unexpected things happen, and you are not always in control what happens to you. A series of events lead up to the one moment when Cameron finally knows what is happening. That is the moment when he realizes that you can't always trust the people in your life. He realizes how easy it is to misjudge someone, and he truly sees the extend of how psychopathic some people can be. The people that are really ...more

I gave this book four stars even though I absolutely hated the main character. I don’t know that I have ever felt so strongly about a character – he was disgraceful. While he tried, through what I felt was a little too much inner dialogue, to make himself feel justified in his actions the truth is that he was just selfish, immature, self-pitying, loathsome and weak.

Did he deserve what he got in the end? Maybe it was just a little too final but, this being a work of fiction and not real justice;

A creepy book that escalates from the first page to the last. The story centers around Cameron Baldridge a young high school teacher who from the beginning is warned about the flirtatious ways of teenage girls and young teachers. He does not heed the warning and is quickly mixed up in a web of lies, women and in the end loses it all. What started as a book about illicit affairs ended with blackmailing and revenge - not a happy cheery book!
