This was a lovely, sweet and super steamy romance.

Brady Scott, sex God Special Forces soldier, tall, lean, built and totally gorgeous has recently moved to town. He’s been having anger management issues and has been ordered to get his head straight by his Commanding Officers before going back out on active service. Brady has some serious Daddy issues having grown up protecting his younger sister from their drunken, abusive father after their mother died.

He spots and is instantly attracted to Jos...more

I just love Laura Kaye's voice. I've mentioned before in a review about one of her books, but it bears repeating. Kaye writes heartfelt, steamy stories about the most normal people, ones you might know and be friends with. When you read one of her stories, it all just feels so real.

As remembered from Her Forbidden Hero, Brady was Alyssa's Special Ops brother. They had been abused as children, and were dealing with the emotional damage it left them. Brady deals with it by refusing to become clos...more

I thoroughly enjoyed One Night with a Hero by Laura Kaye. It was a short, heart-warming and sweet book.

In this book Laura Kaye tells us the story of Alyssa's brother and Marco's best friend (the couple from Her Forbidden Hero), Brady Scott. He's recently on a forced leave from the military due to his anger management issues and has been ordered to get things together so that he can continue his service. Brady is not happy that he was forced to take a le...more

First of all let me say that I still can’t believe that One Night with a Hero has been written by the same author who wrote Hearts in Darkness. I loved and devoured this fabulous little read which featured great writing and wonderful characters. I’m sorry to say it but my biggest issue was that I didn’t recognize the author’s voice anymore! What happened? One Night with a Hero is a disappointment. Everything about this story felt stilted, wooden, forced, exaggerated and the writing is very che...more

Wow! Wow! Wow! What a emotional ride this book was.. It had me laughing, made me feel like I was in a room that was 120°F, halfway trough it I was heart broken and yes I even cried a bit because Laura really has the power to suck you right in. While reading I lost track of the things that were happening around me, totally lost track of time.. result when I was finished I looked up and saw it was nearly 4am.. lol

Sweet baby Jesus.. Brady Scott is just to die for.. mm mmm mmm a 100% hot, delicious,...more

In One Night with a Hero, we are reacquainted with Army Special Forces Sgt., Brady Scott, whom we met in Her Forbidden Hero. Brady has recently moved back to the States after his commanding officers have ordered him to seek some help with his anger management issues. Although Brady isn’t ready to admit he’s got a problem we learn that his issues all stem from the abusive past he and his younger sister, Alyssa, had to endure when they were younger. His outlook o...more

Great addition to The Hero series. I adored Joss!! Brady & Joss had an agreed upon "one night stand" but naturally nothing ever turns out as planned. Brady is an emotional train wreck and Joss suffers from abandonment issues. Both have very valid reasons for these issues, the road traveled to reach thier HEA was a bumpy one and I thourghly enjoyed the ride. Bonus we get to see plenty of Marco and Aly since Brady is Aly's brother. The epilogue was fulfilling and not leaving me with a million...more

I always enjoy Laura Kaye's books, especially her heroes. I mean, who doesn't? One Night with a Hero was no different.

Brady won't consider marriage or kids not even in his dreams, not after the way he grew up with an abusive parent. Of course life wasn't always like that for Brady and his sister, unfortunately that's what he remembers. He has many internal demons to fight and things to settle. He's upset that in order for him to move on not only in his personal life but professionally as well,...more

Another HOT, sweet, funny read from Laura Kaye....
With another seriously HOT Hero !!!! :-)))
Brady and Joss were great characters with TONS of sexual chemistry !!
And it was REALLY good to catch up with Marco and Ally and seeing into their future x
All in all...a sexy, fun read xx

Update: Just re-read my favourite bits...and LOTS of them there were !!!
I would have given this book 5 stars.... BUT I just wanted a bit MORE !!!! It was all over too soon !! :-( xx

When she read, she lost track of what was happening around her. Many times in her life, that had been a damn good thing.
- Joss
Love, he wanted no part of. Lust, however, was a welcome old friend.
- Brady
But would it really be so wrong to indulge a little? Or even a lot?
- Joss
Unfuckingacceptable.
- Brady
Kicking a man when he’s down. That’s harsh, woman. Harsh.
- Brady
She’d rather just hear the brutal truth, know where she stood, and get about the unhappy business of picking up the pieces.
- Joss

Big smiles, melty heart, ok, goo, I'm GOO after reading One Night with a Hero. I l-o-v-e this book h-a-r-d. I really like Laura Kaye's writing and I adore her characters.

I didn't think I would like Brady as much as Marco, but I was sooooo wrong. They are both amazing in similar, yet, very different ways. In plain terms, Brady is a man-whore. A HOT man-whore, but a man-whore all the same.

The book was good and I did enjoy it, although not as much as the first book. I have read the first book multiple times because it was so good. The basic concept behind this book is that the hero had a rough upbringing and his father is an alcoholic. He basically raised his sister and took care of her. He has developed anger issues and was sent Stateside to get some anger management help and to address his issues. That's when he meets the heroine. My issues start with the way Brady treated he he...more

One Night With a Hero is absolutely fabulous. Brady Scott is perfectly hot, oozing with sex appeal, and he's in the Special Forces. He comes across as charming and sexy, but there is a volcano of anger that he struggles to keep underground. Because of this, he refuses to allow himself the pleasure of getting too close to people, believing he doesn't deserve that kind of relationship. He's the son of an abusive alcoholic father and is dealing with all kinds of anger issues, issues that he believ...more

Army Special Forces Sgt. Brady Scott is sent stateside to get his affairs back home in check, and his anger problem as well. But he didn't expect the feisty and fiery Joss Daniels to call him a freaking "Sailor". Bring it on! Brady is one tough cookie to back down from a challenge, and when Joss finally cracks under his gaze it's instant fireworks. even under them, and on her truck in dark vacant parking lot.

I love Laura Kaye’s writing. She another author who writes emotionally torn up characters so real that you just can’t help but feel for them. And although the story itself was emotional and gut wrenching to read, it was still a excellent story and a quick read too.

I enjoyed Brady and Joss, I thought they were both great characters who worked through some very tough issues. I love that Ms. Kaye took real issues and inputted them into this story. She created a very strong and believable story. Sh...more

I loved this book. I read "Her Forbidden Hero" a few months ago and enjoyed it so much that I was really happy when I heard there was a sequel. It starts out with them(Brady Scott and Joss Daniels) meeting for the first time at a park that was filling up for a fireworks display. You remember Brady, he's the best friend of Marco Vieri, and the older brother of Alyssa Scott from "Her Forbidden Hero" (HFH) After he brings food and they watch the fireworks and give the leftovers to a homeless army v...more

Wowzers Laura Kaye did it again! What a hilarious, humorous, emotional and so much hotness book 2 of the Hero series One Night with a Hero has.

Brady is your every day American Hero. An Army Special Forces Sgt with a hot head. He’s forced back stateside because of his temper which doesn’t seem like a back assignment since he’s going to be near his little sister Alyssa and her now Fiancé Marco his childhood best friend and former brother in arms. This could be good. Since joining the Army he hasn...more

I really loved Kaye’s Forbidden Hero and when I found that she was coming out with a companion piece, I was ecstatic! The day that it was available, I bought it and started reading it. And oh my!....BRILLIANT!

There is nothing about Brady that I did not love (okay, maybe the fact that he pushes people away but I could work on that.) The moment when he first saw Joss and immediately knew that he had to have her. All their encounters together were perfect; the right amount of passion, possessivenes...more

One Night With a Hero by Laura Kaye was a sexy, emotional and uplifting story about survival, hope, love and family that captured my attention when fireworks sparked between Brady Scott and Joss Daniels.

They are two people fighting their own demons from the past and not looking for anything permanent except for the one-night stand they agreed to. Things rarely goes as planned as Brady and Joss cannot forget the passionate kisses and hot sex they shared and are so...more

This is the story of Brady, who is the brother of Alyssa and friend to Marco from the first book of this series.
Brady has come back from the war to move onto another job. They are making him take a break to get this head together. He is taking some time and relaxing. While taking a run he comes across a woman names Joss and instanly is attracted. Joss is a girl who grew up in foster homes. She now works for a community center and wants to help children. She sees Brady and her hormones go into ov...more

I started this book this morning and read straight through it. I couldn't put it down, it was that much of a page turner. This is the second in Hero Series by Laura Kaye and it was just as good as the first.

Brady Scott doesn't do relationships. He feels his past defines him, and he doesn't want to risk becoming his father. His anger is too close to the surface but he's unable to resist the pull that Joss Daniels presents the second he sets his eyes on her. She was a contradiction in looks and a...more

Just finished and have to get this review down.
First of all: I didnt like our hero Brady. He seemed like a typical young male. He only came to Joss when he needed her then he wouldn't speak to her again until the next time he had a meltdown and needed to get laid. That was particularly unnerving to me. We've all either been in that situation, or had girlfriends who have had ttoxic relationships with these men who are complete with emotional baggage, not ready to commit but always ready for sex....more

What can I say about 'One night with a hero'?!? Speechless. Sated. Spent. Best book I've read in a long time! Laura Kaye has outdone herself. The book is a sequel of 'her forbidden hero', the story of Marco and Alyssa--Although both books can stand alone on their own. Brady does an appearance in the first book, since Marco is his best friend and Alyssa is Brady's sister, and Marco and Alyssa appear in the second book. The story centers around Brady and his one night stand -turned neighbor, Joss...more

It's the Fourth of July in D.C.

Joss Daniels and Brady Scott are fated to meet this day, on a hazy late afternoon, as she lies on a blanket waiting for the fireworks to begin, and he comes to a halt from his afternoon PT jog . . .

She is all tangled legs, pink glints in her dark hair, and gauzy cotton skirt, loose cotton top . . .

He is military, buzz cut, buff, good looking and knowing it, just starting a new tour of duty at the Pentagon in the U.S.Army . . .

It is the classic 'love at first sight'...more

One Night with a Hero was delivered in true Laura Kaye fashion! I highly recommend it, it's one I would gladly read again. One of my favorite parts about reading books in a series is how you not only get to revisit previous heros and heroines, but you get to be part of the story for the supporting characters. The story contained everything a story needs to pull at all of your emotional strings just enough so that you feel what the characters are feeling. I felt my brows crease, and ached in my c...more

One Night with a Hero was exactly the kind of book I was in the mood to read at the time when I read it. It's about Brady who's struggling with daddy issues and Joss who's struggling with abandonment issues/loneliness. They meet, have a memorable conversation, which eventually led to a one-night-stand. Only to find out the next day that they were, in fact, neighbors. In spite of their mutual attraction, Brady doesn't want to commit and so he rejects Joss repeatedly. Joss, wisely, turns away from...more

It is just as hot as the cover suggests - seriously!

I love that we get to see inside both Brady and Joss's heads... I absolutely LOVE Brady! He is damaged and kind and sweet and good but doesn't think he deserves love from anyone or a future with anyone. Joss is also damaged but she still wants what everyone wants... a future, someone forever, a family.

4.5 stars. In a few words…

The Good: Sexy, charming, cute, heartwarming, pacing, writing.

The Bad: Beginning (H/h's first meeting), Joss (very abrasive in the beginning), overuse of "Chuff" and "Glassy Eyes".

Such a great story. I enjoyed this book immensely once I got past the rough start. I'm glad I fought a mild urge to DNF because it really does get better. As does Joss, whom I hated at first. By the middle of the book I was hooked and look forward to back tracking to read the first book in the...more

This is Brady’s story!! We got to meet Brady in book 1 but you really didn’t get to know him…and he is not who I thought he was going to be. In book 1, I totally thought he was going to be a straight arrow…I mean he stood up to his abusive father, basically raised his sister, is a great soldier who saved his best friends life….Swoon!!
