Nothing like a little breakup to remind a man why he loves a woman and what an idiot he’s been. After a clunky marriage proposal, Rebecca Wilson breaks up with Jeremy Hamilton, an engineer lacking a romance chromosome. She goes away for the summer and thinks she has found true love. When she returns with a broken heart, Jeremy seizes the opportunity to convince her to give ...more

This is first book from Shirley Jump i read, i don't know why i read it.
yeah yeah, maybe this the last book from her i read too.

Hero and heroine have one year relationship, and then one bad proposal they break up. Rebecca want perfect man who always think about her first above the others but Jeremy is not the guy.

So Rebecca travel for 3 months to Indiana and meet other guy with soft eyes, charming smile like dreams guy of her. She always want to be loved so she think herself deserve some romanti

This is a very cute contemporary romance novella that was free for the Kindle. I enjoyed the characters and thought the romance was fairly sweet. I would have ranked this with 4 stars, except when the heroine finally tells the hero about the months they were apart and her heartbreak, she doesn't tell him everything. In fact, I would say she left out the most important part.

That aside, I would definitely read more by this author, as this was really cute. I'm guessing this is a re-issue of the au

So this was recommended to me as clean romance, and I guess it technically is clean, since there is no sex scene. I didn't know why, but I was reading it and not getting that giddy feeling sweet love stories usually fill me with. I saw a tweet on Friday that said, sweet love stories focus more on who the characters are than what their bodies desire. Bingo! That was it. The whole time I was reading this, I thought wow there are a lot of raging "hormones" and memories of sex for a clean romance. ...more

I had such a hard time getting into this book. And truthfully, I never really did. There was an awful lot of talk about sex and aching bodies with no action. I prefer clean romance anyways but this was ridiculous. I didn't care for either of the characters, I wasn't interested in knowing more about them, and how she kept talking about her horrible mistake she luckily avoided over the summer bugged me a lot. That's something you should grieve over, not sigh with relief.

I also hated the business

This was hard to finish, considering how short it is. It sagged and dragged. Too much "telling" me what was felt, and not enough "showing."

The story is basically about a couple that broke up a few months before considering their lives apart and what they want in life while the hero tries to get the heroine back. Not sure where the title of this story comes in. We are told they love each other, but there isn't enough in the writing to allow the reader to know this, to feel it. Also, the heroine

Let me start by saying that I read this out of order and read The Bride Wore Chocolate first. This book is set 2 years before that one and I found it interesting to see how the business that the three friends created actually got off the ground. Unfortunately, I didn't care for how Rebecca and Jeremy treated one another in this book, as if they were two high schoolers unable to decide that the other of them mattered to one another. I also really hated that Rebecca didn't tell Jeremy about what h ...more

Romance story about Becky and Jeremy who have been dating for a year and then she breaks up with him when he asks her to marry him because he did not use the "three important words". The story centers around how Jeremy works hard to win her back. Basically I think Becky was a selfish woman wanting Jeremy to change who he is and become someone according to her standards. Becky herself holds back some things in her life that occurred during the time when they were broken up. Clean cut romance and ...more

Thank you, Shirley Jump, for another book where real love conquers all in spite of our fears, doubts, and mistakes. I, too, believe in love at first sight. I also know about fears, doubts, and mistakes. I share the hope that when two people really love each other, they can find a way to trust their love in the face of adversity. I recommend this book to you.

First time reading this author's work. Really enjoyed this book. Moral of the story: NEVER let work be more important than your significant other. All relationships take work and the key to happiness is COMMUNICATION
Quick read, felt like everything tied up too nicely for me. Would have liked to have seen more about the summer. But if you are looking for something to read while waiting in carpool line or at the pool. This will do. I will check out more from this author.

Ashamed to say this was my first Shirley Jump book read but won't be my last.

Just how I like my contemporary romances: sweet and sassy.

This is a great prequel to the 'Sweet and Savoury' series.

Cute short novella. Really enjoyed this and would have been a five but the ending felt rushed. Could have done without the recipes which had no connection whatsoever with the story

Cute little novella. Jeremy seemed lovely. If you got to know him more he would have been 3 stars. Cute read though!

I thought this was a nice story about the things that get in the way so we don't notice the things right in front of us.
