Sunny Black is a strong-will woman who literally wears her mantra, ‘never give up’ on her sleeve. Gavin McLeod is a suit in the body of a chiseled farm boy. When the two meet in Alanna Lynne’s Last Call, the fireworks shoot off like the Fourth of July.

Last Call is the second book in the Heat Wave series, and the series is aptly named. Her characters are full of passion and heat, as the reader sees not only in the main characters, but the secondary characters as well. Gavin is tasked with buying...more

Last Call by Alannah Lynne, is the 2nd book in the Heat Wave series. Once again, Ms. Lynne creates characters and a story that you can't help but love. The first book was titled Savin' Me.

I love the character, Sunny, in this story. She's tough, determined and hard-working. When Gavin walks into her bar, suddenly it seems as though Sunny remembers that sometimes she needs to take care of Sunny. Gavin seems like a safe haven for her until she learns something about him that threatens to destroy an...more

Gavin McLeod has got it all. He's got the good looks. He's got a damn good job working for a man he practically considers family who is grooming him to take over as CEO for a million to billion dollar business. And he's got his granddad who raised him after his parents disappeared on a boating trip. But lately he's having second thoughts. He's wondering if he's the right man to step in to his mentor's shoes when Max retires. Over the past year or so, many of the choices Max has made to further t...more

Callie Holden is the daughter of Holden Enterprises CEO, Max Holden. She has been in love with Gavin McLeod since she was a teenager. She just wants Gavin to notice her and think of her the same way that she does him; however Gavin has no interests romantically or sexually towards Callie. Can Callie come to grips that Gavin will never be hers or will she try to sabotage any relationship Gavin may have?

Gavin McLeod thought he knew w...more

I love the details in this book. I was so into the story by the details I felt like I was THERE watching/feeling the events happen. Alannah is a detail writer and I love that about her stories. This story is about Gavin and Sunny. Gavin is sent to check out Sunny’s bar for a future resort HOWEVER he doesn’t know that’s why he’s there. The chemistry between the 2 are PIPING HOT. Gavin is instantly attracted to Sunny’s personality and then to her KINKY jewelry. Sunny thinking she can have hot sex...more

But when his boss sends him on a mission in Anticue Island, North Carolina, he meets the one person that will change his life forever and make him come to terms with his sense of self and his past. After reading Savin' Me (Book #1 of this Series), I couldn't wait to dive into this read. I was not disappointed. Sunny and Gavin's story takes the reader through the real life struggles of a relationship from the onset of a one-nite-stand to the development of a relationship with many added participants. I loved the compromising and complicated situations of the characters (Both emotional and sexual) and how the author was able to draw me into each storyline with the mystery, compassion, romanc...more

This is the 2nd book in the Heat Wave series, and what a story! Gavin meets Sunny working at the bar she owns and there's an instant attraction between the two. Things get complicated when he finds out why he was sent there to begin with. Another complication is Sunny's brother, whom she has been taking care since he was a teen. I loved reading about Sunny, she is such a strong and feisty woman, and just what Gavin needs as his life is not ending up like he envisioned. Make sure you pick up a co...more

Excellent continuation of the series. I enjoyed the writing style as well as the story line and character development. I originally wanted to skip this one and get to the third book in the series, which I though looked more interesting, but this turned out to be, in my opinion, the best of the three. Highly recommend the series, they are all worth reading.

Alannah Lynne has written another terrific entry to the erotic "Heat Wave" series. The characters are realistic and the suspense is gripping. The characters are different than in the first "Heat Wave" book SAVIN' ME, but by the third book in the series there will be a merge and continuation of characters.

Alannah did it again!! Love Gavin and Sunny. Gavin from the CEO world meets Sunny from a little town taking care of her brother while trying to run a bar. Who knew that these two worlds would melt together. Well, Alannah did. There was so much emotion put in this book you felt like you were there. Plus some great Steamy scenes.

I didn't think Alannah Lynne could top Savin Me. But I loved this one, so much is going on, but the focus stays clear and the instant sizzling attraction between Sunny & Gavin is on fire! I can't wait for the 3rd in this series!

I loved this book about Gavin & Sunny, as much as I did Kat & Erik in Savin' Me. This author really can put words to a page that wrap around you & don't want to let you go to do anything else. Gavin is a hot, hunky corporate exec on the rise. Sunny is the owner of a bar in which she bartends. These two just happen to meet there & I have to admit that I laughed reading this scene unfold. I don't want to give anything away. But this was a feel good book & I was wondering how th...more

I love Alannah's writing style. The details of the story really pull you into it and the characters are well written. Sunny and Gavin are hot together and I like Sunny's relationship with her brother Robby. I am really excited to read Crossing Lines (book 3) to see how the characters from Savin' Me (book 1) and Last Call (book 2) mesh together ;)

I give this 3.5 stars. I enjoy the second a little less then the first can't really put my finger on it, but it was still a really good read. That little bit less will not keep my from reading next book. I really like Kevin's character in the first book and can't wait to read his story.
