Dizzy was such a fun read! It starts out with lots of chemistry and snark, and ends with a lot of heart, and maybe a couple of tears. I just adored this story!

At Dylan Gibson's home a Halloween party is underway...the flyers went out, the alcohol is chilling, and his best friend Paul has the music pumping. Dylan's happy with the way he lives his life. Since the heartbreaking departure of their mom, Dylan, his father and his brother Derrick made a pact: never letting a girl come between them.

There is a girl at his party who has caught his eye. She stands out because of her casual attire and gorgeous looks. This girl doesn't appear to be interested in his charms or his apologies for spilling a beer on her. The chemistry between the two is off the charts. Both Ziah and Dylan feel the strong attraction but don't get each other names, before Ziah leaves the party with her boyfriend and best friend.

Dylan's big brother Derrick is guilty of pact breaking. He has fallen in love and is coming home from college to present his finance and start wedding preparations. Dylan and Ziah are shocked when they come face to face again at their sibling's engagement dinner. The two are sucked into all of the wedding planning. Dylan and Ziah's irritation and also intense attraction to one another makes for some fun scenes. Especially when Ziah was drunk...absolutely hilarious and sweet!!

Ziah falls for Dylan and Dylan falls for Ziah. Staying friends doesn't quite work out when chemistry between a couple is as strong as theirs.

Closure on pasts hurts, personal growth for both characters and a happy wedding day for Derrick and Lora made this book a happy light read!!(less)

I love a good romance with a swoony couple that makes me melt and the drama that comes with it. Dizzy by Nyrae Dawn and Jolene Perry had this down perfectly. They wrote one cute and lovable book that will surely touch the hearts of many.

We start off with two marvelous characters, Dylan and Ziah, who are brought together through the upcoming marriage of their siblings. Dylan and Ziah don’t have much in common and come from opposite worlds, but these two come together under unpleasant circumstances and without knowing how, these two fall for each other.

Dylan was a unique character whom I loved from the very start. From the outside, he looked like a rich, spoiled and arrogant guy. Hidden underneath those rough edges is a sweet, down to earth, funny and overall great guy. He was super hilarious and he made me smile and laugh out loud every chance he got. Dylan had trust issues when it came to women so he couldn't commit to one girl, but Dylan never led any girl on. He made sure they knew exactly what he wanted. I love how Dylan still found it in him to support his brother, even when he didn’t agree in the beginning. I understood Dylan and I completely connected with him and felt all the pain and betrayal he felt. I found Dylan to be one amazing guy even with all the issues he had with his parents and his brother’s wedding. Dylan was the type of guy you want to keep and never ever want to let go.

Ziah was character that made this book whole. Smart and intimidating with a powerful voice, Ziah was truly one force to be reckoned with. This girl can dish it out and she can stand on her own. She was a strong girl and she valued love and family as important things. What I loved about Ziah was her ability to forgive and embrace things and the people who did her wrong. Ziah may look tough on the outside, but she definitely had a fun and loving side I loved as well. I loved how she was relatable, reachable and believable as a character.

Nyrae Dawn and Jolene Perry’s writing was absolutely stunning. The writing is clean and well blended. They did a great job of developing the characters to point where I got to know them and feel what they were going through. Dylan and Ziah were set a part from each other and had unique voices that I knew exactly whose head I was in without looking. The drama and obstacles the characters had to face were real and true to the story as well. The overall pacing of the story was perfect where Dylan and Ziah’s relationship grew stronger each chapter. The romance was beautifully written, making my heart ache and swell and race at the same time. It was so easy to invest and wrap myself around the romance, it’s no wonder why I fell head over heels in love with this book. Best of all, Nyrae Dawn and Jolene Perry made sure to add in the snarky, clever, and humorous moments for a fun, fast, and easy read.

Dizzy is a must-have, must-read book for any contemporary, romance and book lovers out there!

The Gibson boys made a pact after they were betrayed and left by their mother and wife: no girls. Girls were bad news. They got into your life, under your skin, and then left you high and dry. That explains why Dylan is so shocked (and pissed) when he finds out his brother, Derrick is getting married. MARRIED! The pact has been broken, but could it be for the better?

Ziah's sister, Lora has lectured Ziah about her motto: school first, career second and boys third. This is why Ziah is completely and utterly in shock when her mum informs her that Lora is, in fact, getting married. She hasn't even finished college for crying out loud! Maybe it's time for Ziah to lecture Lora the her motto. But when Ziah is roped into wedding planning with Lora's fiancées brother, she realises, after a while, that maybe Lora getting married isn't so bad after all.

Dizzy was such a cute contemporary romance novel! It was short and adorable and made me feel all gooey and smiley. I’ve never read a Jolene Perry book before, so I didn’t really know her style, but I enjoyed her chapters. I have read two Nyrae Dawn books before and they were so cute, so I was definitely looking forward to her chapters. Together, Dawn and Perry managed to write a very cute YA romance.

I’m not really sure how I felt about Ziah. She was strong sometimes, yet weak other times. She was honest with herself, and yet she denied her feelings, even to herself. I didn’t understand her! She wanted to be friends, then it was more than friends, then it was nothing at all. Ziah gave up and got embarrassed easily. She was a likable character, I suppose. I can see why people like her, sure, but I can definitely see where people didn’t like her. My opinions on her are kinda in the middle. Another “meh” character, I guess.

Dylan was a douche for the first part of the book, but he got better. He had a lot to deal with, and he didn’t necessarily deal with it well, but he tried. And I admired him for that. He also wasn’t too proud to admit that he liked Ziah, and I liked that. I’m not really sure if I liked Dylan that much, but I still liked him a bit.

Overall I thought Dizzy was a good book, it was just lacking in some unknown department! (less)

Dylan isn't interested in a wedding he doesn't want to happen, but he sees his brother is happy so pushes his doubts aside. Ziah doesn't want to see people in love after finding out a shocking secret kept by her best friend and now ex-boyfriend, James, but spending time with each other doesn't seem like a chore, they fit, scarily enough for both of them. As they get closer, a friendship forms that wants to turn into more, but Dylan still has issues and won't let it. After talking with his dad, he decides Ziah is the kind of girl who is worth it. Whatever happens. They decide to try for more than friends. But no one is expecting an unexpected return of Derrick and Dylan's mother. Dylan feels betrayed and left alone, again, by everyone who loves him. Even a misunderstood phone call to Ziah ends badly. Dylan will have to come to terms with the past he has tried to block for so many years, while changing the very belief system he has always known. Ziah will need to learn to trust and accept that not everything is perfect, but is can be beautiful. If Dylan can master his past and move forward, he may find that having a girl and expanding his family isnt all that bad.

Dylan and Ziah were perfect for each other. I loved their banter and the ease with which they interacted. Dylan was, of course, gorgeous, but he was learning to be a better person, and reading about that was awesome. He really thought things through because he cared for Ziah. Ziah (great name, by the way) was sexy, but down to earth. She wasnt overdramatic about looking a mess, but went with the flow and remained true to herself. She was hurt by someone she cared for, but didnt let that stop her from moving forward. I love the duo that is Nyrae Dawn and Jolene Perry. I will definitely be looking for more collaboration by these two authors. <3(less)

Ahhh! Judge all you want but I really really like reading YA novels. I find it fun, cute and light (of course with the exception of some), plus of course the thrill of young love, I am sorry but I am such a sucker for that. So I really enjoyed reading Dizzy, this book has the right amount of wit, fun, cuteness, a little bit of drama and the perfect kind of cheeseball-ness. (haha!) This is the kind of book that will make you feel good and will give you that silly smile plastered on your face after reading it.

I picked this book because it was a collaboration of two great YA novel authors, Nyrae Dawn and Jolene Perry. Nyrae Dawn is my go-to author when I like short, fun and happy read. She has this talent of making her readers feel good about things, if not themselves. So to say I am fan would be an understatement. This is the third book I have read of her. And it was amazing because her books really varies, not redundant or not trying hard. Her books are the perfect ones to have when you just one to curl up in bed on a rainy Tuesday afternoon.

I would like to commend the alternative point of views. Making the book more interesting and not one sided as opposed to a single point of view. I liked that it was able to cover the whole story without making much effort, the emotions are there and you will immediately feel for the characters. The plot is also good, not so heavy and dragging, making it even more realistic. I laughed through most part. This book is just the perfect read.

When two of your favorite authors combine to write a YA book, there really is no choice but to buy it! I'm thankful I did.

Dizzy was one of those feel good, fun, light hearted books you read, after you've read something heavy and know you need light! Swapping voices between sexy Dylan and sassy Ziah was a brilliant move, allowing access into both of their heads, as they struggled through accepting love.

Such a great easy read. I just couldn't put it down. Was a great way to spend a lazy Sunday.
Ziah And Dylan was such a great combo min this book. They both complimented each other very well. The chemistry between both of them was instant and you felt it all the way to your toes.

WOW.

this book is just too cool. i think i am a little dizzy?! anyways...

indeen love at first sight how much one keep on denying it.

Dylan's and Ziah's love story is on a roller coaster ride of emotion.

First there was denial. denial on how they were both attracted to each other, but they keep on denying it because of their own and personal experiences.

Oh, this is hard.. I am still not sure about this story and a full review might come one of these days, when I get back from holidays.

What I can say now is that I liked the middle part (Dylan and Ziah had their cute moments when they were trying to figure out their feelings, becoming friends and then maybe something more), but the beginning and the ending.. hmm, it was just too many shades of meh for me.

Dylan (one of the Gibson Boys) was given the shock of his life when his brother suddenly announced that he was getting married. They promised each other that no girls would come between them both after their mother left them and never returned. Now, he was marrying the sister of the hot girl who crashed his party. I think he was dizzy what problem to prioritize: his brother's impending nuptials or the girl he couldn't get off his mind. Everything should be okay if he wasn't cynical with commitment and relationship.

Ziah - don't you just love her name? She's very driven and motivated to go to med school. Everything was in order in her life until she crashes a party and met this rich boy who annoys her for no reason, her boyfriend whom she think was safe just cheated on her with one person she trusted most and of course, her sister is going to get married just before she finishes college. With her heart (or ego) broken, her sister being busy with pre-wedding bliss, she's thrown with Dylan to help plan the wedding. What she didn't expect is that there's more to him than just the regular party boy. But can she make him fall in love with her when he's too oppose to the idea and notion of love? I so admire her ability to forgive and move on.

It is not just the both of them that makes this novel fantastic but the surrounding characters as well. Dylan's best friend Paul is simply the best. They both believe and adhere to their friendship's mantra bros before hoes . It was just nice to see boys being there for each other when one of them needed the other. It was sweet but not to the point that it was girly. You can still feel the testosterone in the air despite the scene.

Two heads are indeed better than one (but both can deliver really good novels individually anyway) Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading this book and I'd recommend this to friends who'd like a sweet, short read about falling in love unexpectedly, letting go of the past and moving forward and friendship & forgiveness.

I was so excited when I seen this book was released, I downloaded it to my kindle and read it non stop in a matter of hours. It.Was.That.Good!!! I have just recently discovered Nyrae Dawn and just this week I have read 2 other books by her. I love the way she writes and her charachters are easy to relate to. This is my first read by Jolene Perry but will not be my last. These ladies are wonderful together, their writing flows together perfectly.

Intensely dramatic with spinechilling moments that have you sat on the edge of your seat in suspense, I really enjoyed this absorbing tale with wonderful characters and depth. Loved this book!!
Dylan and Ziah were fun, cute and adorable together.

I'm currently helping a friend of the family write a young adult book, so I've been reading as many YA novels as I can get my hands on. This one, I felt, was a good study.

I loved the alternating points of view. I'm always interested to see how writers tackle male/female, but I felt like this one worked. It was slightly odd that Ziah and Dylan had so many of the same interests, but I felt that their backgrounds and family lives were different enough to provide something extra.

If there are two Indie authors I will repeatedly recommend it would be these two! They are so talented and need more recognition!! I am so behind with their books because they keep popping them out like there is no tomorrow!! I mean seriously you guys...slow down!! I can't keep up these days!! It seems everyday there is a new one coming!! ;D (no, please don't ever stop writing!!) I need to read them all...so should you! ;)

Anyways!! Enough with their previous books. This is a review of Dizzy not the other two. Ok well..let me rant a bit more about these two lovely authors. Nyrae and her perfect boys + Jolene and her awesome, witty female leads= the perfect combo! This book was so good! I loved the play of back and forth with Ziah and Dylan's POV. Dylan was so charismatic and a complete hot head..an adorable, fun, funny, in-denial boy!! O gosh..I loved him. He was fun and witty. He was loving and confused. Ziah was a pain in the ahh...tushy. She was mean and mad and so freaking difficult! She was also loving and funny without knowing it. She had this charm that I just came to love. I love reading through alternating POV but the best is when the characters are so distinguishable but still the same where you don't feel like you are reading completely different books. Ziah and Dylan were one of the same. I loved how Ziah would end her turn thinking one thing and Dylan would pick up thinking the exact same thing. They were on the same page...they were the cutest couple ever.

Jolene and Nyrae's writing was just as amazing even though they were sharing the pages. I enjoyed getting to know each character and reading from their talented hands. It was a true gift. They created one of the best couples in the contemporary genre. I had no problems...well one. Their relationship status. So they kind of hated each other at first. They believed they were on completely different sides of the world but they were closer than they thought...and once they figured it out it was nothing but sparks. Gosh these two were so cute! They were funny, witty (my!! their banter was awesome!!), close, smexy (uhmm..there were some pretty steamy, blood pumping scenes I was very fond of reading). They tried to deny their attraction but they just...couldn't. They only tried to keep their distance because they had things of their pasts and recent situations which screwed them over to thinking love was impossible. I felt bad but they helped each other out. They worked..they just worked.

Wait...I thought you said you had a problem with their relationship status?....you may have just thought that question. Yes, you are right...I am getting there. Alas, my problem which semi-ruined my complete heart gushing over their little romance....Their siblings were getting married. That kinda makes them siblings...half...step siblings. Not by blood but by marriage. I just don't know I found it weird. They are siblings after the "I do". What?? Some people may not have a big deal with this...I didn't mind it too much it just kinda rubbed me the wrong way I'm afraid. I would have liked it if something was different but it kinda had to be to make their situation possible and the dislike they had with the wedding. Still...a little awkward for me but it didn't effect the rating so no worries!!

So besides the sibling relation....Dizzy had its own charisma. It was all sorts of fun and excitement! Nyrae and Jolene truly have a gift and make one hell of a power duo! More please? I enjoyed this book so! I was so excited when Jolene asked me if I wanted a review copy!! I really love these two authors and I can't wait to read more from them..together or standing alone! I totally recommend this book to everyone who loves those romantic comedies with a dash of self-discovery! I kinda really like the cover too..its quirky and cute! I loved the humor, the writing, the love, the drama, the..a lot of the book let's just say ;) Seriously! Once you have the chance check this book out a long with their other books! I can promise you their books will fill ya up on any sappy yet funny romance cravings you have! They have yet to disappoint me!

There are very few authors that are an automatic buy for me. Let me explain as you can see I buy and read a lot (emphasis on “Lot”) of books. So I have to be very judicious on which books I will actually spend money on every month. I think of it like a triage situation. I would buy them all but, tuition mortgage and the kid and husband insisting on groceries get in the way so for almost every book I buy I read the reviews and check availability from other resources etc before I buy. Dizzy was a very fun and cute Young Adult book which definitely got a smile to my face. It had just the right amount of angst and drama to make it believable without making me frustrated with any of the characters or any situation whatsoever in the book.

This is the story of Derrick and Lora who are newly engaged and their younger siblings Dylan and Ziah who are not thrilled for them due their own views on marriage. Dylan and Ziah first meet briefly at a party just enough to clash and feel an immediate spark.

I am not talking about the witty banter between the characters in the book that gave the book comedic relief because I didn’t a whole lot of that. No, I am talking about the “do I like her?” argument that could rival the Grinch’s indecision about whether or not to go to the party.

Dylan. The youngest of the Gibson boys is sucked into planning his brother’s wedding that he gets sick just thinking about with said brother, the bride to-be, and the sexy-moody sister of his brothers fiancée whom annoys the crud out of him. Or so he tells himself.
See where I’m going with this? The book was properly named to say the least. The problem is I understand it all. I get the need of the indecisiveness and the arguments they had for staying apart were legit reasons but it was still frustrated. But I guess that just means that means the authors did a great job, huh? I got emotionally involved in the character lives and I was just as spent as they were when the book ended.

The story was original. It was well written and had well rounded characters and a seamless plot. The authors did a good job and it was definitely a unique idea. If you don’t mind hot-cold relationships with hair pulling out and the sometimes necessary yelling of, “Stop over thinking it and just kiss her already!” then this book is definitely for you ;).

This is my very first book from Nyrae Dawn ( and co-author Jolene Perry) and what can I say? It was a funny, easy to love kind of a story! And the characters, both Ziah and Dylan are quite ... unforgettable and lovable pair!

I love their first meeting... and again, not my typical first meeting! If there's love at first sight? Their's ?! Hate at first sight! Who would love to be the recipient of "The Look" ?! Though they seem to not stand one another, deep down, in an unexplained way.. both find each other... attractive. ( though both would rather be caught dead than to admit! )

If destiny decided to play...well, this one's well played! And these two are the unsuspecting victims! When Dylan's older brother, Derrick got engage to Ziah's older sister , Lora ... their paths crossed again. And they are not so happy about it! And to make matter worse.. Both Dylan and Ziah are assigned to be the wedding planners! How can they coordinate when they can stand being together?

Forced to be together with no choice.. they stick together and slowly ..gruesomely .. with a lot of snark and constant banters, which is super funny! Dylan and Ziah are both caught off guard of this "new feelings" they have for each other. I love love reading Dylan's thought! I can't help but smile and chuckle at the same time. It was so amusing to get inside a guy's head ... both Nyrae Dawn and Jolene Perry did a great job! Here's one of my favorites:

"Awkward silence, and then she reaches for me. Holy crap, she’s going to kiss me! Hanes is totally about to kiss me! Mayday, mayday! I don’t think I want her to kiss me. Her arms wrap around me, and it’s totally a hug. I don’t know if I’m glad or disappointed."

It is not just funny... it's hilarious! And I can even picture out how Dylan looks like at that very moment! And their first kiss? Oh. there's a lot going on.. specially in Dylan's mind! (again!) And then he is thinking of his dad, his brother.. and his mom? while kissing?! I can't restrain my laughter! HE must be very confused!

I enjoyed every chapter of this book. It's such an easy read till the end. And the ending, falls perfectly into my "Happily-ever-after" category which really works for me!

The collaboration between N. Dawn and J. Perry is awesome. I'm looking forward for more from them in the future!

LOVE THIS moment between Ziah and Dlyan:
"My hand moves to her cheek and then my lips press against hers. I kiss her gently, as though she's breakable, when she's anything but. Then I grab her waist and pull us even closer than we were before. This kiss feels different than our others. She's definitely a voodoo girl. Maybe not angry, but she's cast a spell on me that makes me crazy and makes me want her more and more."
