-Raising the Darkness by Chris Marie Green

Finished the story. 4 stars
I would recommend this for those who follow her series. This is a stand alone but I felt that I'm missing some information which would help me to understand the story better. I wouldn't say that I would like to read this series, didn't seem as something that I would enjoy but it doesn't mean that the story and writing are bad. It's interesting, good writing just not exactly for me to enjoy it fully and if I give it less than 4

A really fun collection of novellas that each had their pluses and minuses. As usual for me, a big minus was the fact that they were novellas but I understood this coming in. I typically prefer full length novels but it is nice every so often to mix it up and I enjoyed each of these stories for various reasons. I loved the witches in Nancy Holder’s story. I’d almost love to see that same couple featured in each novella from GothicScapes just so I can see more of them, they were super sexy. Becau ...more

A trio of terrific urban fantasy tales from three wonderful writers - writing about strange holidays.
This one is the upcoming All Hallow's eve, and what can happen when the gates to the underworld open. Good stuff.

My favorite was Linda's Trapped In Stone story, about a man trapped in the stone form of a monster on Notre Dame Cathedral's very real gallery of chimeras and gargoyles, in Paris. One night a year he comes alive, and must find a replacement for his position. But other forces don't want

Hey urban fantasy readers.... I hope you'll read this one.

My story is "Trapped in Stone," and is about the Forces of Good and Evil playing a game of chicken with the soul of one man on top of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, and the woman who vows to help him.

It's a wild ride, with gargoyles, witches, winged devils, angels, and a black death coach.

If you've ever climbed to the top of Notre Dame to the Gallery des Chimeras, you'll be right at home here.

I hope you'll give my story a try!

I really enjoyed this anthology. It has a variety of supernatural characters and has spell-binding stories. 'Raising the Darkness' by Chris Marie Green is fast paced and action filled. The story has unexpected twists and turns that keep you riveted. It tells us about Dawn Madison, a former vampire hunter, and how the battle with her protagonist, Lily Meratoliage plays out on Samhain. I really loved Costin, Lily's lover. This is part of a series so it helps if you have read the prior books to und ...more
Interesting collection of UF shorts. The writing and characters were interesting, but they didn't grab me, I don't feel the need to look for more by these authors.
