Fortunately, neither I nor anyone I know has been diagnosed with breast cancer, but the topic of breast cancer is something that really strikes a chord with me. Whenever there's something on TV about it, I always stop what I'm doing and the TV has my complete attention. For me, it's one of those deep-seated fears; the thought of getting breast cancer, or any type of cancer really, terrifies me. So when I was contacted by Katherine Formosa Bown about revi

And I think I am so lucky to have this book delivered to my doorstep.
I think its Karma..!! THANK YOU KATHERINE..THANK YOU SO MUCH !!

Being a woman we all...have natural unpredictable dark tendency to be diagnosed with breast cancers..

It is also hard to figure out how to help women with breast cancers with just a hug, a word, a get well soon card, a bunch of colourful flowers CANNOT give them great happiness, but a great deal of pain, agony, unseen bad

I won this book on Goodreads First Read Giveaway and wow! This book is an awesome guide not only for those suffering from breast cancer but also those who are suffering from any long term illness. It takes something that could be unbearable and gives suggestions on how to continue to live life with the disease not ripping all dignity and pleasure from you. It is meant for the ones around those who are ill, and it is certainly something that I would consider important, especially for those ...more

I'm glad I won this from the Goodreads giveaways. I've had 2 friends with breast cancer, and one relative with another form of cancer over the past few years, and it was hard not understanding what they were going through. It was also hard to figure out how to help them when just a hug caused them a great deal of pain. This book is a very useful guide with some great advice on how to help - and what not to do. There are explanations of what goes on through every stage, including little blurbs ...more

This book is very good for someone who has no experience dealing with someone you know having cancer. It has a lot of very basic but very helpful and good to know tips for the actual process of diagnosis through treatment. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I was expecting more information on the multi-faceted emotional aspects for not only the cancer patient but those that go through it with her. I appreciate the author taking the time to journal her experiences though.

I wish I had this book as one of my resources before I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I also wish that I had the forethought and strength to keep a diary of all I was experiencing and thinking. This is one that I will definitely pass along to those women who will welcome it as a companion for their journey.

I received this book through Goodreads contest and glad I did. It took me a while to get to this book but when I did, was able to finish in an afternoon. When I started the book, I had just found out a friend was recently diagnosed with cancer, and even though it was a different kind of cancer, the information the author provided as well as her own experience, has made it easier for me to communicate/support my friend. I hope the author plans on expanding her book to include more resources and ...more

SOME OF PROCEEDS TO CHARITY - BUY IT KNOW.

I've spoken to Bown during a promotion, and can safely say that it's an honour to know this courageous, charitable, eloquent beautiful Island. You're gonna have to look the last bit up; betcha, you don't figure it out.

A wee bit short, but still well worth the cash, and a read.

This book is an AWESOME guide through sicknesses in general! I loved it and I think it can be very helpful for anyone who will be in contact with cancer as the patient or the supporter. I think its like a little bible for sicknesses journey, that's what I like about it :)
