Alright. Let me just go on ahead and make a couple things perfectly clear.

1) Jenn Cooksey is an absolute writing genius.

2) As much as I loved Shark Bait (believe me, it's a hardcore love), I can say with complete assurance that I loved The Other Fish in the Sea even more.

To be honest, this is one of the most difficult reviews I've written. I have so much to say, but I am terrified of spoiling both books one and two. And honestly, I've been over this with Autumn at Autumn Review multiple times...more Alright. Let me just go on ahead and make a couple things perfectly clear.

2) As much as I loved Shark Bait (believe me, it's a hardcore love), I can say with complete assurance that I loved The Other Fish in the Sea even more.

To be honest, this is one of the most difficult reviews I've written. I have so much to say, but I am terrified of spoiling both books one and two. And honestly, I've been over this with Autumn at Autumn Review multiple times, and we've both concluded that nothing we can say in our reviews will justify just how truly special this series is. You have to read it to understand.

Now, I can sit here and say the characters were endearing, engaging and I love them to pieces. And I can also say that the story was surprising, heartbreaking, magical, and flat-out perfect as they come. Both statements are true to my experience. But still, those statements only touch the edge of what I believe to be true of the Grab Your Pole series.

The Other Fish in the Sea is a larger story than Shark Bait. Cooksey took what I only suspected to be supporting characters, and made the story theirs, as well. This book is told not only from Camie's point-of-view, but also Kate, Melissa, and Jillian's. What I learned about these girls made me gasp, smile, fist pump, and cry. Sometimes the tears were from happiness, a bittersweet moment, but also of the worst kind of heartbreak. Don't jump to conclusions, though. I was continually surprised by the events of the story.

And the boys. Sa-woon. Not only do we have the uber-hottie Tristan Daniels, but his friends are also part of the larger story. "Dear" Jeff, "Lonely" Pete, all play bigger roles. And can I just say, these boys are an absolute riot. All extremely aggressive (in a good way!), lovable, hilarious, and loyal guys, these boys are the kind of guys I want my son to be and my daughter to date. Now, that's not to say that they're perfect, but they are good boys, and they work hard to be the kind of guys their girls deserve. And...I'm not naming names, for fear of spoilage and death by author, but there's a darkhorse in the story who has sort of won my heart. I have to keep my love a secret for now, but: You keep being awesome, you sexy bitch!

The thing is, these books are real as the get. Camie, Tristan and the rest of the gang are not delivered a cake walk. Mistakes are made, conclusions are jumped to, angry words are spoken. And sometimes, it's almost more than they (really, I) can take. I have to say, these characters, particularly Tristan and Camie really mess up. But you know what, that is realistic for people their age. This is the first time either of them have ever dealt with emotions of this magnitude. If you think about it, Camie is pretty young and has lived a very sheltered life. She's not naive, but she does have a lot of growing up to do. And not only is she dealing with first love, but it's with a guy like Tristan. I've never really considered Tristan to be a "bad boy", more of an overly-blessed, kind of spoiled, good guy. And though he is very mature, deep, and responsible, he is still learning to be in a relationship for the first time. These two are dynamite when pushed. They fight, hard. But they also love hard, too. And there are times when they both made me so frustrated and hurt that I wanted to sit them down and slap some sense into them, to tell them to communicate. But they are growing up. And I have to say, keep the big picture in mind. Tristan and Camie have are young and have a lot to learn about love. But I can also say that their moments of connection or of simply having fun were just beautiful and so much fun to read.

Lessons have to be learned. Decisions must be made. Trust must be granted. Happy endings must be earned. The road to true love is bumpy as hell, and these kids better put on some padding.

I'm a "feelings" reader. I base my love for a book by how much I am consumed by the story, by how much I smile, laugh, cry, and pull my hair out. By those accounts, The Other Fish in the Sea is perfection. And I can honestly honestly say that it stands up as an all-time favorite. (less)

So, I'll do my best to give a spoiler free review by sharing with you how I felt about The Other Fish in the Sea.

This series has one of the best cast of characters I've ever read. Yes, the overall plot is consuming, but what makes these books an obsession are the characters. I feel like I know them. I'm completely invested in their lives. And the thing is, that the challenges these characters face, are real. Relationship issues, family issues....all real-life stuff.

Let's talk about the characters. The Other Fish in the Sea is told from the girl's point of view. I love all the girls in this series. Truly. I love Camie, Kate, and Melissa, but I have to say that Jillian is my favorite. The funny thing is, that I can relate to each girl in some way, but with Jillian, I get her. I think like she does. I'm not stealthy and a genius like she is, but I really relate to her.

And the boys....well, if you follow my reviews you know that I'm pretty boy crazy. The guys in this series are absolutely fantastic. They are all perfect in their own way, because they aren't perfect. You know what I mean? Tristan is so dreamy, but he's also a very deep guy. You start to see more of that side of him in this book. Jeff is still the comedian and pretty much the peacekeeper in the group. He always makes me laugh. There is a character that was introduced in the first book and we learn more about him in this book. He becomes a key character in the series and he WILL make you hot. That's about all I can say about him. Now....the boy that has stolen my heart in this series is Pete. He's a bit on the quiet side, but he brings a certain balance to the group. I could go on and on about Pete, but I'll save my gushing for a later date. *winks*

Ok, so here is a very general overview of The Other Fish in the Sea: you will laugh, you will cry, you will want to throw your book and you will want book 3 ASAP. Seriously. I rarely find a book or a series that captures my attention and makes me crazy obsessed, but this is one of those series for me. I cannot recommend this book/series enough. Jenn Cooksey is a master storyteller and these stories need to be read.

I read Shark Bait last year and I was addicted. Ya at its finest. I absolutely love Jenn Cooksey’s writing, and her characters are the BEST! You will laugh, cry, and laugh so hard you cry! Right now I am too shocked and flabbergasted to write a proper review so here you go...

This series is fantastic!! I loved that this book had chapters from Jilly, Melissa, and Katy's POV. I normally like the POV changes labeled with a chapter header but I didn't even mind that these chapters were a surprise and you had to figure it out. I liked the mystery and they were easily identifiable.
Even tho Cammie and Tristan are the main characters you become just as involved with the other characters. Jeff and Kate are adorable and I'm dying to see how they handle things in the next book...more

So, I am not going to lie and say this will be an easy review to write. It won't be. This book was somewhat of a roller coaster ride. Sometimes you love it and sometimes you just want to puke your fucking guts out.

Cooksey deceived me quite thoroughly. In Shark Bait, we had a sweet and slightly tumultuous story of young love. Filled with amazing characters and quick whit that all ended as a nice tidy package. Complete with pretty bow. I like pretty bows.

The Other Fish in the Sea brings us more insight to all the other characters. Most notably Kate and Jillian. Kate's story veered to a place I didn't expect and Jillian's? Whoa boy, that girl. Jillian is still the one of the best characters ever written. Ever. Did I mention ever? Like of all time? She is hilarious but in the least obnoxious and most under rated sort of way. She's frickin' brilliant, she knows everything and is everywhere. She is like part cat, part ninja, part super model and part...I don't even know...someone really smart. Einstein maybe. Her story also took me somewhere I didn't expect and I am a tad (more than that) unsettled about it.

But these aren't the folks you want to hear about right? You want to know about Camie and Tristan. Camie and Tristan are in the same boat (teehee) as they were in Shark Bait. Still trying to figure out how a relationship between a recovering man whore (he chooses a different term, but it means the same) and an uber innocent chick manages the long haul. Well, I can tell you this...it takes a ton of tears, anger, sexual frustration, bravery and alcohol. Not necessarily in that order and not necessarily to the benefit of a healthy happy relationship.

Needless to say, it is still tumultuous.

But, holy hell did I love it? Yes, yes, OH YES!!!!

Until, I didn't. Then I hated it. I hated a certain un-named character. I hated Jenn Cooksey. I hated the blogger whom I first saw this book from.

Yeah, I was emotional.

I'm over it now. Sort of. A little. Okay, not completely. I don't hate or want to maim anyone but I may still be having dreams about how this horrific cliff hanger of an ending winds up. And really, could you ask for more from a book? I say no. I say, thank you Jenn Cooksey for writing fictional love bugs that I can't seem to get enough of and who spark my imagination.

For shame I know.. I loved it though, I had won it off of my love Jess's blog. So before I dive into my review of TOFITS, I'll give you a 5 sentence review paragraph of Shark Bait.

~~~~~~~When it started out, I was wasn't feeling it much because I felt the Characters might be too young and immature for my liking. My friend Jess adored it so I kept pushing on and before I knew it I couldn't put it down. I fell in love with all the he said she said banter and drama between all these teens. I found myself saying out loud, “ oh no she didn't”, or “holy crap that did not just happen” on a regular basis. It was like rewinding time and living out high school again, the way I would have liked it to be. ~~~~~~

A few of you can understand what I'm trying to say in that last sentence. So you can just imagine how excited I was to finally get my hands on The Other Fish in the Sea. I was ecstatic, really. I was worried though because it had been a while since I was living in this world, but it swept me back up almost immediately.

Camie was not my favorite in this one. I don’t think she was in the last one either, but Jillian and Pete stole the show for me this time around. I loved seeing everyone again. It was like old friends. You get a sneak peek into Jillian’s POV as well as some of the other girls. Not much though, just random chapters here and there. Which let me tell you was a nice little break from Camies POV. I'll explain, you see, Camie is a talker. There were times I wanted to tell her to just shut up. She'd tell you this long story, that would branch off into a dozen other long stories. It drove me nuts. But here is the thing... that’s not necessarily an insult to the book because Camie is young. I felt like a 15 year old was really telling me the story. That's authentic, and though I wanted to wrap my hands around her neck and scream... “Tell me what I really want to know!!! Like what's Pete doing right now ????!!!!” , she did eventually get to the point.

One thing that stayed true for me was the love I feel for all these characters. For every single one of them. They all hold a little piece of my heart. Seriously. If I had to compare the two books, I couldn't tell you what one I liked best. Each had their own qualities I adored. The only downside to this one was Camies rambling. Other than that, TOFITS was a great follow up to Shark Bait and I seriously cannot wait until the next one. A bit of a cliffhanger, and I'm really wanting to know what happens!! (less)

When I first read Shark Bait by Jenn Cooksey last summer, I knew there was going to be a sequel, but honestly, I was so in love with Shark Bait and thought that the ending was so good that I wasn't hugely impatient for the it. However, when Jenn started tweeting about The Other Fish in the Sea more and more in the last couple months, I got real impatient real fast! lol I was DYING for this book. My heart broke a little when I got denied an ARC. But I convinced myself it was okay because it wasn't a long wait. I even rearranged my entire reading schedule so I could reread Shark Bait first! And I started The Other Fish in the Sea as soon as it came out!

I loved The Other Fish in the Sea. I literally spent the day it was released doing only what I absolutely had to and reading every other moment. I even stayed up until almost 2:00am, on a school night, to finish it. And I am both so excited and so disappointed that I did. Anyway, let me backtrack a little.

After the Prologue, The Other Fish in the Sea starts off with Camie's group of friends hanging out at her house, which seems to be their new normal and talking about their Thanksgiving plans. I gotta say, there was nothing hugely exciting or overly dramatic going on in this scene, but I still loved it. It was like I never left San Diego or my group of cool high school friends. It was just a really cool friends being friends scene, and I was immediately immersed back into their world.

I felt like The Other Fish in the Sea was a much more evolved book than Shark Bait was. Yes, there were the lighthearted and absolutely hilarious moments that Shark Bait was full of, but there was also more emotions, period. There were some more heartbreaking scenes as we finally learned more about Kate's, Tristan's, Jeff's, and Melissa's lives, both past and present. There were some heart-stoppingly intense scenes that had me holding my breath. There were the stupid-teenager moments that had me groaning or rolling my eyes. And there was more romance. Oh yeah, there were also more sexy times. People are definitely not kidding when they say that Jenn Cooksey's books are Mature YA. But they were realistic.

One of the things I loved most about The Other Fish in the Sea is that there were different narrators of the story. This wasn't frequent, with narrators changing every chapter or so. Of the 31 chapters, counting Prologue and Epilogues (yes, "Epilogues. There are two.), only 5 of the chapters are from narrators other than Camie, but I loved them. We got to learn more about the characters and see certain things from different perspectives. Of course, these chapters aren't marked. There is no indication that the narrator is switching. However, Jenn warns of this in an Author's Note just before the book starts, so I was prepared, and I thought it worked. I actually did pick up right away that the narrator had changed (meaning she did a great job with differentiating their voices), and I was also able to figure out who the new narrator was before it was revealed! I thought that was cool, almost like a mini-game within the book!

There were several surprises throughout The Other Fish in the Sea, most pertaining to our main group of friends, but there were also some surprises involving their parents that I thought were really interesting. There are different relationship dynamics, with new relationships forming and other relationships evolving, and I thought it was really interesting to see those side by side.

Now, the reason I kind of regret binge-reading this book like I did: the ending. It wasn't a bad ending, but it was kind of a cliffhanger. Okay, forget kind of. It was a MAJOR cliffhanger, and guess what? Even Jenn doesn't know when book three will be released, which kind of makes me want to scream, cry, tear out my hair, and stomp my foot in a 2-year-old temper tantrum! Believe me, The Other Fish in the Sea is well worth the read even with the major ending, but I want to know more NOW! I'm sensing a reread in my not-too-distant future!

Okay, so that was a pretty long review, and if you read it all, thank you! But I just loved this book and had so many emotions while reading it. Honestly, if I weren't trying to avoid spoiling it for you, my review could probably be double the length just to talk about everything that happened! I HIGHLY recommend reading the Grab Your Pole series and would easily give it 5 stars and then some!(less)

I am in deep book like with Camie, Tristan, Kate, Jeff and their amazing parents and other friends but I LOVE Jillian. That sexy evil genius is the heart and soul of this series. It is so hard to review this book without extensive spoilers and this is the kind of book/series you want to read cold. It flows so well and the different POV's increase your understanding of this wonderful group of friends.

At first we follow Camie as she deals with a new issue in this book because she feels like she is ready to take their five month courtship into a whole new level but is afraid of her inadequacies in the bedroom because Tristan has so much experience. She seeks advice from her girlfriends throughout the book trying to gain knowledge of what to expect from Tristan also what she can expect from herself. In Shark Bait we saw the amazing chemistry between Tristan and Camie develop over time and they both faced a huge test in their relationship early on and survived. But the tests they face in this book push them both to their breaking point as their passion for each other threatens to tear them apart.

Childhood sweethearts Jeff and Kate, who have been together basically their whole lives are harboring a secret they haven't shared with any of their friends. We are given a small glimpse into Kate's POV in this book and find out exactly how strong the bond between her and Jeff really is as they navigate their solid connection and some tough circumstances.

Camie's friend Melissa also gets some much needed page time as we follow her through a tough choice and the consequences that follow a Delicious and spontaneous encounter with a sexy tattooed rocker!

I don't even have words to adequately describe the wonderfulness that is the Grab Your Pole series. I feel like a fucking idiot because EVERYTHING about this book is swirling in my head and I can't grab onto what I want to say about it. This book was just as good if not BETTER than it's predecessor and I fell so much harder in love with all these characters throughout the story. The chemistry between Camie and Tristan is hot and pulls you into their relationship and invests you in their happiness. Watching them grow and develop as a couple throughout this series has been so much fun. The main issue these two face is how and when to take the next step in their relationship. Camie being a virgin is intimidated by Tristan's extensive knowledge on the subject of sex that causes her to make some choices that anger Tristan and further complicates their relationship. They are the main characters but the way the book is written makes it feel as though everyone is the main character. The author leaves no one out when she writes and you become invested in everyone's story just as much as the MC's.

While reading Shark Bait I wasn't instantly fond of Tristan but I slowly warmed up to him after a while. It was a completely different thing with him this time around because I fell 100% in love with him in this book. He was so much sweeter and more romantic to Camie and extremely PATIENT! The further they pushed the boundaries in their relationship with no completion the more I got scared thinking he would stray to find some easy tail like almost all men do! With him being the reformed man slut he is I kept waiting for Jenn to sucker punch us with a cheating storyline. Thankfully that was not the case and my love for Tristan aboundeth much henceforth.

We not only get to see what goes on between Camie and Tris but we get a look at Kate and Jeff (Who are my faves, don't throw shit at me please!). The fact that Kate and Jeff are childhood sweethearts and are STILL together after all this time makes me almost believe love like that exists. I adore everything about this couple, from their playful banter, to their serious loving moments even their fights are endearing! These characters are written so well that you become them in a way as you read about them. It's almost like you are experiencing every single thing they go through and they go through some shit in this book! Not only are they dealing with a huge issue that will change both their lives, they also find out about a shocking link between their families that adds more intensity to their story. I was not expecting the drama to be so amped up but my pulse was red lining a few times freaking out about certain aspects. My heart broke for these two characters during a turning point in the book and I got really scared for a little while that things wouldn't work out between them but thankfully their bond is just as strong as it was when they first met, and for that I want to deep throat Jenn Cooksey!

I have to take a moment and give some props to one of THE best characters I have ever read from a book. Jillian Ramsey, Camie's younger sister. *Standing Ovation*! This girl is one of the most mysterious, and snarky and strong and unintentionally funny book characters! We learned in Shark Bait that Jillian is quirky and a little strange in that she is a Nazi spy! She moves like the wind and nobody ever notices when she comes and goes. In TOFITS we get a much too short (IMO) glimpse into her life and discover something that made me sit up like a fucking Irish Setter or whatever that dog is that points at shit. Jillian has a mystery guy that has befriended her and seems to have a crush on her but Jillian being Jillian is aloof as always and keeps her cards close to the chest. It's not clear at first who this could be but by the end of the book I hope you will be as juiced up for this pairing as I am! Beyond her guarded demeanor though she has a somewhat softer side that we get to see a little more in this book. I loved that her and Camie seemed to grow a little closer as the story progressed. They have a heart to heart moment that just shows there are so many different sides to Jillian that just makes her that much more endearing as a character. Plus it's fucking hilarious that basically EVERYONE in the book is scared of her!

Drama, Romance, Heartache, Passion and Shenanigans fill the pages of this amazing book and I didn't even cover half of it! I can't imagine how much better the series will get as it continues but the way this book was left with a damn mini cliffhanger will make you anxious for the next installment. The Grab Your Pole series is a wonderful character driven story that has worked it's way into my favorite series-es list. In general it's just a really good story for people of all ages, no matter what station in life you're at be it a teen going through some of the same things or an adult who survived those years (Thank You Raptor Jesus!). I'm looking forward to many more books featuring the GYP gang!

This book has made me realize why I swore I would not read another book in a series without all the books out first...my heart can not take it!!! Why can I not ever listen to my rules!!!

TOFITS starts right where Shark Bait (ONE OF MY FAVORITE FEEL GOOD BOOKS I HAVE READ!) The whole gang is back and I fell in even more love with them. It is told from the girls POV (which I loved). Camie and Tristan are dealing with the issues of being in a relationship finally and what that entails. Camie was insecure and very intimidated by her reformed manwhore. She really drove me crazy at times and I just tried to remember her age and it would take time for her to get comfortable. Communication was sooo needed between them at times. I LOVED Tristan again, even more so than in Shark Bait. He was so good for her and took care of her. He was the MOST patient person and I really felt for him the whole book.

Jillian, the best sister and character ever, was back and in full force. I absolutely adore her and wish there was more of her.

Lonely Pete...oh how I love you... and you are not so lonely after all!!! hmmmmmm

Kate and Dear Jeff had several huge issues come up and it made them even stronger. Loved their connection

and rounding out the gang is Melissa and Brandon which I enjoyed.

I fell in love with this book and was on a happy high and then a MAC Truck came thru my kindle and knocked me out. I was so mad, I screamed "that is a star deduction on my review!"....I will show you Jenn Cooksey!! hahaha... Then I simmered and cooled down, rethought, and realized no way could I deduct. This is a wonderful series and I just need to sit back and enjoy the roller coaster ride of emotions Mrs. Cooksey has put us thru. Like she says.. we just need to BREATHE!! LOL

I absolutely fell in love with this series when I read the first book, Shark Bait, in which we came to know and love Camie and Tristan, and their friends. The story continues with The Other Fish in the Sea, which also includes points of view from the other girls in the Grab Your Pole Gang, Melissa, Kate, and my favorite of all, Camie's sister Jillian. I can't tell you how much I came to love these guys in Shark Bait, and my love for them just continued to grow in The Other Fish in the Sea. I am officially fully vested in the lives of these characters.

There are moments when you will be dying of laughter, but there are also heartbreaking moments in this book, as well as some moments where you will be totally pissed off and want to slap them, but believe me.....it's all good. Camie and Tristan (the hot surfer god) face quite a few challenges in their relationship and have some major hurdles to battle through. Their encounters are sweet, super steamy, and frustrating, as they try to figure things out. I LOVED Jeff in this series, just loved him. He and Kate deal with some really tough issues to. We also get to meet a new player who gets inducted into the gang and I really liked him also. Then of course there is Pete, dubbed "Lonely Pete" by some of the girls - but Pete isn't quite as lonely as they think he is. Then there is my favorite, Jillian, Camie's little sister, who is a total badass. Jillian knows everything that goes on..for real..and possess more insight and wisdom than the whole crew combined in my opinion. I just love her. The guys, well the guys are hot, hot and more hot.

There isn't a whole lot of detail I can go into without spoiling it for you. Just know that this is a fantastic series that has some really great characters and a great story line that will make you laugh, cry, and want to pull your hair out - or maybe sometimes one of the characters, and then just wanting to wrap them up in a big hug.....you may want to do a little more than hug some of the guys :). The ending will leave you DYING for the next installment, wanting to know what happens, really wanting things to work out for some of the characters...please let them work out Jenn :)...., and really curious as hints about relationships that seem to be developing are given.

I loved this story and all of these characters and I totally enjoyed being in the boat with them as they ventured through some smooth water and some really rough seas. I CANNOT WAIT to see what happens next, and I can't recommend this series enough. (less)

I was already so invested in the world Jenn created for us and somehow she managed to make me dive even deeper and love every single minute of it. We not only get to read things from Camie's point of view but now we also see the lives of these awesome teens from Kate, Melissa, and Jillian's point of view too. Can I just take a moment to applaud Jenn for this genius move because it was ABSOLUTE GENIUS. Getting to know Camie and the girls on a deeper level was one of the most enjoyable parts of this story. Jenn has this way of creating characters that are so relatable you develop this automatic love for them and need to know them better. By allowing us in all of their heads I learned secrets that I wouldn't have if it was just from Camie's POV. I suspected things throughout the story but I was always surprised and Jenn managed to keep me guessing until the end. I cried for these girls, weather it be happy tears or sad tears, and I laughed with them. If I ever could pick a group of best friends from a book series to have in real life, it would be these girls.

Not only are the girls a bigger part of this story but so are the swoon worthy boys! We obviously get to see more of Tristan and his cute little ways with Camie that make you love him but we also get to see more of Dear Jeff and Lonely Pete. We also get to meet a mysterious bad boy and I can't say much more but OH MY GOSH. Jenn Cooksey, I didn't think you could make me swoon any harder than I already had been but he is a sexy piece of man!! I can not wait to see more of him in Shark Out of Water. These boys are all the type of boys I'd want to be friends with. They can bust each others balls and say stupid shit to each other and know that it's just a joke. In the end they all have each others backs. I also really love how close they become with the girls. So instead of them just being connected because they're dating girls that are bestfriends or boys that are bestfriends, they actually all become friends. Just like the first book, TOFitS is not only about young love but also friendship.

Another reason I truly enjoyed TOFitS is the fact that it was so raw and realistic. Jenn doesn't sugar coat the story and she doesn't feed us a bunch of sappy unrealistic love crap. Not that I don't enjoy that, but it is refreshing to just have the truth shoved in your face every once in awhile. The gang isn't perfect throughout the story. They all go through troubling situations, make mistakes, and say really stupid shit to each other. Honestly I wanted to punch them sometimes but I also appreciated the fact that Jenn could make me feel something other than just happiness. That's what makes a good book a great book for me.

Jenn manages to take what could be an ordinary story and make it absolutely extraordinary by creating relatable and mature characters, a realistic bumpy road ahead for them, and a heart breaking ending to keep you hoping and wanting more. If you don't already consider this a must read let me tell you, it is one of my all time favorite books and it is a must read for any teen or YA lover out there in my book.

Trying to write out cohesive thoughts about this book on a Saturday morning at 6:45am without coffee might be dicey. But it’s the book’s fault I’m not firing on all cylinders because I was up all night thinking about it.

It might be because Crazy Stupid Love is playing in the background, but the only thing I can really say that might give you an indication of how great this book is would be to compare it to falling in love (corny yes, but hear my argument before *ewwing* it).

The only problem I really had was that sometimes, with such a huge cast of characters, I had trouble knowing who was speaking.

HOLY CLIFFHANGER BATMAN! All I have to say is Tristan has some major sucking up to do in the next book! And he darn well better do it! I'm currently crossing my fingers that book 3 will come out early and that there will be a HEA for Tristan and Camie!

Okay, so what exactly is it about this series, and this sequel, that is so awesome? Well, once again Jenn Cooksey put personality to the max in each and every one of these beloved characters, and I was so blissfully thrilled to get back to their story!! Camie is such a fun and endearing narrator throughout these books, it's like chatting with an old friend as you listen to her detailed thoughts about her rather crazy life. And while Tristan and Camie burrowed themselves deep in my heart with their quirky but stirring love story, the supporting cast is no less lovable with their hilarious escapades. We get to see from the POV of a few of the girls this time around (Jillian, Kate, Melissa, and Camie), and I loved getting to see things from their perspectives. Especially since it gave us insight into their relationships, too, not just Camie and Tristan’s. There are truly some amazing little love stories going on behind the scenes, and then of course getting in Jillian’s head at any point is….just…mind-boggling!! The girl is 12 going on 20, and she has the most cunningly devious brain you could possibly imagine! It was such a treat getting to be in her whacky head for awhile! I feel like I’ve gotten to know these characters so well, and I dread seeing that last page flip over…especially this time, because that ending was just excruciating, but I’ll get to that in a moment!

While Shark Bait was centered around the drama of Camie and Tristan's relationship, this installment was more all-encompassing with this oddball group of friends. There were some very grown-up situations that these kids were getting into this time around, and with parents that were so laid-back it was easy to forget just how young Camie and Jillian are. It takes a lot to phase these characters though, and they were all there for each other for everything from silly teen drama to life-threatening moments that terrified them.

"My mom isn't a scrap-booker like yours and she didn't put cute little ducky or heart stickers over shit, so until you're ready to see it in the flesh, you don't get to see it on fuckin' Kodak photo paper," he told her, still laughing. ~ Tristan to Camie, Loc 3062

Tristan and Camie had some moments that were incredibly sexy and some that were just so sweet it made me want to go “awwwww” right along with her. Tristan is her rock and her soul mate, and whenever they have rough patches it’s just physically painful! And just when you think they’re peachy and everything is on the right track as this book comes to a close, Jenn Cooksey gives you a punch to the gut that will have you screaming and pulling your hair out! I’m a mess of emotions for these two right now, and this cruel and unusual punishment is going to be unbearable until Shark Out of Water comes out!! If you haven’t grabbed up this series, do it now because it is sure to be a new favorite for you!!

It reminded me that after every storm there will inevitably be new growth, and that isn't something to fear, but something to welcome and look forward to, and really, something to be in awe of. ~Camie, Loc 5642 (less)

I really liked Shark Bait. It was fun and I loved Tristan and Camie and how their relationship developed. But I was disappointed with this sequal. I don't know what happened but Tristan and Camie was not at all interesting, I actually didn'ät like any of the two. Ok so the second book in the Grab Your Pole series was even better than the first!

Our little friends definitely had some rough patches (read: cliffhanger). I really love the Ramsey family. They are just a trip. And Jillian is slowly becoming my favorite character. I can't to see what's in store for her (cough* Pete cough*). But what's great about this series you actually love all the characters (except maybe Jeremy) and want them all to have their HEA.

I will have to come back with a proper breakdown of my feelings. But for now (11:21pm to be exact) upon finishing this book mere minutes ago, I have to say simultaneously BRAVA! and sleep with one eye open, Ms. Cooksey. It was brilliant, charming, salty-sweet. It ended with a lovely left hook, the kind that results in that halo of stars over your head. The FEELINGS! And I am a crusty old lady too to be feeling this for a YA book. Oh it was the best.
