Susan and Franklin take centre stage in this volume. Some decent stories, though Susan does get put through the ringer a bit too much. A decent read.
I don't think there is a bad story in Byrne's run on the FF.
He manages to breathe new life into old bad guys or remind us what made them cool in the first place.
The Hate Monger story starts as a gritty, street level story with a look at prejudice and ends up in the microverse! Not many people could make that work.
His characterization is also very strong. Sue isn't just the damsel. She looks like she could be somebody's mom, but somebody's hot mom.
Johnny grows up. ...more

The stories and the inks made by Jerry Ordway are excellent!
Somewhat misleading, since about a third of the book is written or drawn by people other than Byrne. The Byrne stuff also feels like it's kind of flying off the rails, like he stopped caring about telling a coheisve story.
