This Book in Urdu, later televised by PTV (Pakistan) is the best ever to come out of Modern Pakistan - this is my Humble Opinion.

And, for that matter, this is easily the best Novel on Sufi Theme (Tasawuff) i have ever read.

This book is very personal to me. It dropped into my hands from the blue sky and the fact that the heroine and I shared names, faced the same spiritual struggles, and suffered from that itch to get answers, remains a mystery to me. But she finds Irshad, whereas I have found nobody yet.

We remain stranded, for now.

It felt good revising my 'Baba Sahba' memories.. :)

Ashfaq Ahmad is love.
God bless Noor walay..! ♥
A story of a sojourner, a traveler , an explorer on the path of spirituality. More than mysticism, this philosophical magnum opus is about code of life, rather about life itself. From the protagonist’s, Irshad, standpoint existence transcends. The supreme dialogues engrossed in cordial philosophy, saturated with meaning coerce an individual to seek the higher meaning of life.
For anybody interested in reading philosophical mastery to quench their thirst for spirituality must read this book. Here

This is the best ever novel in Urdu on the Theme of Tasawuff (Sufi). Its a pity that nobody has ever thought of translating this into English, wish i could do that myself, but my Urdu is not up to the mark.

A classic in true sense. When you go through such literature at your early age, you find it like some boring sermon, but the discussions in this drama really touch your soul, when you are able to make some sense and relate to it with your own life.

Like all classics of the world (like Mahabharata), most of the characters are with gray shades and are not rigidly black & white. Every character has its own point of view for his / her actions. The transformation of main character Irshad from a b

Ishfaq Ahmed's writings hold a beauty that someone could write a whole book in order to praise his writing , this exactly happened with me I want to write about this legendary piece of writing but running out of words but I'll try and let the goodreaders know the beauty lies beneath it.

This book revolves around an ordinary man who chooses the path of Sufis over all the worldly affairs and luxuries, On this journey, he meets several men

A tale of a person's spiritual transformation. Ashfaq Ahmed discussed the pre-requisites to get the journey started on the path of Sufism or Tasawuf. Before travelling on this way one should analyze the heart and look deep inside if she really wants to travel on this way. He discusses things related to metaphysics. The things where sufism and science overlap and the way Sufis observe things like scientists do.
Also the hypocrisy of our society is discussed as how people from different schools of
