I am huge fan of Lora Leigh, but I have to admit that I found myself intrigued and frustrated at the same time. Intrigued at the sudden cloak and dagger routine that I admit came out of left field for me. I've read Cooper's Fall and I don't recall the bouncers doubling as covert operatives anywhere in that story. Yet suddenly here they are. They even have an entire network in place! However the biggest sticking point for me would have to be Sheila and Carey. They are in love with each other but ...more

I reviewed this book as part of the Taken anthology.

I wasn't expecting the focus of the series to shift to Beau, Sarah's brother, and it definitely increased the suspense component of the series. Someone has decided that Beau needs to pay for turning his back on The Family. The problem is that the someone isn't sure which of the four men in Cooper's employ with "new" histories is Beau. So while Sheila and Casey (one of the four) find themselves in a precarious point in their relationship, Sheila

Really enjoyed Cooper's story and thought this one with Casey would be just as good. But it fell short for me. Besides the fact that the story line was confusing as all get out, it just didn't didn't add up. It was so outrageous in concept that it's comical. In fact, I tried rereading the madman's part to make sense of it and still didn't get it. The sex was always so rushed and unemotional.
Heck, even Sarah from book one was portrayed as an annoying twit in this book. I've never started disliki

This has all the trappings of what you expect from Lora Leigh. The first 5 pages are a vividly described intense sexual scene. It ends in some high school type drama and proceeds from there. There were pages where I was on board with the hero and others where I was on board with Sheila but mostly nothing really stuck out as original. I gave it an ok rating but I don't feel more stars are warrented because its much like any other LL you may have already read.

A nice little short story. Although I found myself before I even started reading the story digging back through Live Wire trying to figure out if the Nick Casey in this story was the same Casey that was in Live Wire (yes he is).
A bit more confusing than the first with the whole revenge subplot. Especially since I read this before #1. Bit even after reading the first, it still doesn't make much sense to me. Wouldn't Sarah recognize her brother if he was working at the bar? And the whole ending with setting up the ex-boyfriend to take the fall just didn't set right with me either.
2 -3 stars – Contemporary Romance/Romantic Suspense Novella

Read as part of the Legally Hot anthology.

AWESOME! LOVED IT! usually love lora leigh. my theory is that Morgan is Beau... its all in the teasing that Sarah does... and he's new by recommendation of Gio... just a thought

This follows Lora Leighs Coopers Fall, and again another great book from her.

This one a bit longer than Coopers Fall and ties together nicely.

Lora Leigh lives in the rolling hills of Kentucky, often found absorbing the ambience of this peaceful setting. She dreams in bright, vivid images of the characters intent on taking over her writing life, and fights a constant battle to put them on the hard drive of her computer before they can disappear as fast as they appeared. Lora’s family, and her writing life co-exist, if not in harmony, in ...more
