Well, when I picked it up, I figured it would be mindless fluff, so I was not disappointed. It was exactly that. It was 'Desperate Houswives' set to print...but without the humor. It was purely mindless reading, which, at times, can be good. Given that this was the week back to work after nearly two weeks off, I didn't want to think too hard when I was reading, so it hit the spot. But, I definitely will not be reading it again.
This was a wickedly fun novel. I liked the main character Lauren the best. She realized in the end how in love she really was with her husband. It took her a little bit, but that's the problem when you've been with someone a long time, not taking advantage. I liked that they both realized that there was still a love there. The mystery was really fun, and in the end I was actually surprised. I thought Bridgit was a little trite, and kept focusing on yesterday instead of what she had in front of h...more
I really enjoyed reading this book, as it was something more than I'd hoped. I thought it was just going to be affairs and social snobbery, but when I actually started reading it and there was a murder mystery to be had, I was pleasantly surprised. The twists of the plot were somewhat unexpected and it was an interesting peek into the secret lives of the privileged that many of us... less affluent folks don't really get to consider.

I picked it up when i was stranded for a few hours in a rural town. I wanted a light read and that's exactly what i got. Overall it wasn't bad, i enjoyed reading it and it definitely passed some time. The only issue i had with it is that everyone seemed to have a secret and not just a small one. I rolled my eyes quite a few times when a new secret was revealed. A quick, easy and entertaining read.
This book was given to me by a fellow teacher. She was packing her class and said, "Here, wanna read this?" I thought sure. It was very light reading and a little on the trashy side. Ok, a lot on the trashy side. Think 'Desperate Housewives". It had every type of marital indiscretion you can think of. It was also a murder mystery so I had to finish reading it to find out "whodunnit".
This book was just plain fun! I enjoyed the social stature of all the women and how they all played against each other. They were all so different and yet so alike. The character of Dana was the decent one and she held the storyline together in trying to find out who killed Vincent DeLano. I did not expect the killer's identity and it played out nicely. Like I said, just good fun. I plan on buying her other books as well.
I found this in the $2.00 bin at Big Lots; the weatherman had predicted rain and lots of it. The house was clean, the skies were grey so I put on the kettle and tucked into this book. This turned out to be just the bit of fluff one wants occasionaly! The ending came as a bit of a surprise - quite fun for a 'day read'.
