I definitely liked this way more than the first book. I’m even surprised at how much I really like this. If you liked the first book but you weren’t fully satisfied with the story, definitely read on to this one. I got through this much faster and it certainly was an easier read.

There were a few things that bothered me and a few things that I really enjoyed. The story didn’t really drag in places. Sophia and Ava were not as annoying as I thought they were in the first installment. The Contessa...more

Where Beauty Lies had much more going for it that Beneath the Glitter (which I also enjoyed). Whereas Beneath the Glitter primarily focuses on two girls moving to LA, pursuing their careers, and falling in love, Where Beauty Lies has a healthy does of romance in addition to mystery and betrayal. The plot was more engaging, but it is still a light, fun read at heart.

Sophia and Ava are just as lovable as they were in Beneath the Glitter, but this time they are united instead of being torn apart by...more
I haven't read the first book in this series, Beneath the Glitter, but the premise of this story seemed right up my alley. A YA book about girls dealing with love, fame, and friendship? And it has over a 4 star rating on Goodreads, so I decided to give it a shot.

After the whole fiasco with their animal fundraiser, Ava and Sophia London just can't seem to stay out of the spotlight. So when the offer to design a line for the New York Fashion Week, the girls can't believe their luck. The girls put...more

Warning: This is a harsh review!

I just finished this book on my kindle quite quickly. This book sucked but it was better than the first. The first book made my stomach turn and I wanted to puke but all this book did was give me a headache and almost make me want to punch myself in the face. Where Beauty Lies is the second book after Beneath the Glitter it introduces The London sisters returning in this ghastly novel about love, friendship, and their fame, me sitting wondering where all this "fam...more
This was the second book in the Elle and Blair Fowler series, which helped to wrap up the first book they co-wrote. I was waiting for this book to come out, not because the first novel was amazing, but because it left behind so many cliffhangers. There appear to be some real life references, but most of the book appears to be to VERY fictional. There were times while I was reading where I thought "when would this ever happen?" It was very cute and girly, with a little action added in to make thi...more

I borrowed Where Beauty Lies by Elle & Blair Fowler from my job, and this is my honest review.

This novel is the sequel to the first book Beneath The Glitter which I LOVED so you can imagine my excitement when I saw it at work and was able to borrow it. The sequel was a continuation from book one so I cannot really go into detail without spoiling the first book. But I will say that it involves a lot of crazy but entertaining drama! Now do not be put down when I say there is drama, because its...more
Where Beauty Lies is the second book in the Sophia and London series and I have to say I liked it a lot more than Beneath the Glitter. I felt the drama was a bit more intense in this book compared to the first, although it still carried a light and fluffy feel to it. I breezed through this one just as quickly as the first and thought it was a decent end to their story.

I enjoyed the plot and characters a bit more in this book. Although, I didn’t like the Contessa at all and thought her character...more
Oh. My. Gosh. Where Beauty Lies completely surpassed the first book. Not that Beneath the Glitter wasn't great. It certainly was (see my review for proof). But this is the first time in a long time I've read a sequel that just made me want to rate it way out of my traditional scales. Like, giving it 10 out of 5, or jumping up and down on my bed and doing somersaults repetitively. Okay, that's a little dramatic. But that's just how much I've enjoyed the book.

Where Beauty Lies is fast paced, humor...more
Much like the first book in this series, this installment is cute, fun and fluffy, but very much tailored to a particularly audience that I don't really fit into. From a literary perspective, there really isn't much in the way of plot, theme, or even depth (or, perhaps more accurately, elements that transcend the otherwise shallow-seeming industry the story takes place in). Most plot-twists stop just short of posting a neon sign way, way beforehand. Most of the resolutions to their challenges ar...more

Okay, let me start off by saying, it was a good book, with many of the chapters ending in cliff hangers, but this book should NOT be in the teen section of Barnes and Noble. I picked up the first book in this series, Beneath the Glitter and was fairly amused. It wasn't a bad book, but it wasn't great.

Where Beauty Lies reminded me of when I was younger, like flashback to 5th grade when I read about all I wanted to be when I grew up, younger. I can honestly say, that this book is more or less set...more

I usually have a hard time trying to find a good book to read that I am going to be interested in and want to read. While I was in the book store searching for a book to read I came across Where The Beauty Lies, I picked up the book and started to read the back and right then and there I was hooked.

Where The Beauty Lies is one of those books that you just can't seem to put down, or at least I think it is. It's one of those books where you just crave to know what is coming next. When I picked up...more

Review contains minor spoilers!

I started with Beneath the Glitter and really liked it. It was girly and fun. Where Beauty Lies was as well, but it was a little more confusing.

Plot: Fun and creative but unrealistic. I found the drama with the dog and cat to be unbelievable. I know it's fiction, but that twist was a little too much for me. I think Elle and Blair could have come up with something a little more...more
A very fun and intriguing book! I wouldn't say it's one of my favourites but it was fun for the time being. I'd recommend this for someone who wants a quick read and not too much commitment.
This sequel was a little more action oriented than the original book in the series, Beneath the Glitter, so I rated it slightly higher. There was a huge disconnect between the two books. This book did not even discuss the major events that happened at the end of the first book until well into the book, which was disconcerting. The reader was left to wonder why a crime was blamed on a major character from the last book, who doesn't even seem to merit any mention in the first chapters of this book...more
Better than expected, way better than the first one- but still a mindless chickflick...

Easy chick-lit, and I loved it!!

I HAD to get this book as soon as I finished the first (Beneath the Glitter) the way the chapters end with a small cliff hanger and the LonDOs and LonDON'Ts...made this one nearly impossible to put down! And I completely admit to getting a little teary eyed at the end. I really hope there are more books to come from the Fowler sisters :) until then I will keep following along on YouTube :D
I loved the first book by Elle & Blair, Beneath The Glitter, and I loved this one even more. Way more drama, suspense and action. I love the AS Girls concept and how everyone came together. I totally recommend this book! I so wanted there to be a third, but I don't know if there will be. Where Beauty Lies had a wonderful ending so I'm definitely satisfied.
This was the second book in the series. It was a quick, easy read. I found there to be more drama in this book. but still a fun story line. I enjoyed the two sisters and how they believe in themselves and their talents. It has a "feel good" theme. This would be a great read for young girls.

Wow This book was soo good. The characters had so much depth. At the end of the book I was tearing up because of how happy I was for the London sisters. I felt so much love. I want to be in love like Ava and Dalton are. Elle and Blair did a really good job!

I liked this book a lot better than the first one. It kept my interest a lot more and I read it much faster. I'm tired of the Lon do's and don'ts so I pretty much skipped over them. The story was good even though it was predictable.
Ashley Monette
This book was really good and very mysterious. It kept me on my toes the whole time wondering if I could trust anybody. It was very very good. If you read the first one, I recommend reading this one.
Orla Sheridan
I thought it was very descriptive in some places but then skimmed over others. I found it a fun little pleasure read, I was able to read it in a day but I did like it :)
Literately the most air-headed, rudimentary, basic book I've ever read. Don't know how I got through the first one but I definitely don't suggest this one.
Book Review on my blog soon!

not a fan of the writing a bit trivial. Good fluff book though
Some of it was predictable but entertaining none the less. Lovee
