Talk about hitting the ground running, Deadly Road started off with one of the most serious mistakes a person can ever make and a test of their morals. When the accident happened, knocking over Lizzie's once controlled world into a living nightmare the horror of her choice floods her dreams with savage wild coyotes and flickering ghosts.
Neiderffer had done a wonderful job bringing forth the terror of Lizzie's mind, having her question her reality as the images of the...more

In Deadly Road we’re introduced to the main character, Lizzie, as she’s hurrying to get home after seeing her boyfriend dancing with another woman. On her drive home, there’s a section of the road that’s continually covered with fog at night. Under normal circumstances, Lizzie drives through it nice and slow, but due to her drama and a couple of drinks she decides getting home quickly is more important than safety. Big mistake.

When she hits and kills a man, her world threatens to crumble around...more

Well I really enjoyed this book from start to finish.

Basically Lizzie is driving home after catching her boyfriend with another women and hits and kills someone and pulls his body into the woods to hide the body, after which she is haunted by the man.

I loved the fact that within the first couple of pages the action started, no long winded chapters on the place, the people or anything just straight into the thick of it. The story was very fast flowing and blended together really well, there were...more

Turn off the phone - find a comfy spot - grap a cup of coffee and settle down...Tara Neideffer pens a page turner, I could not put this book down. It had well developed character's, fast-paced storyline, the attention to detail is excellent. This is one of the best stories I read in a long time.

Tara very kindly gave me a free copy of her book in return for an honest review, so here it is.
While I believe the writing could use some tightening up, I think she has real potential to develop into a pretty damn good writer.
If I could I would have given this book 3.5 stars. The characters are well-drawn enough that I cared about what happened to them, and the story was interesting enough that I was compelled to stay up late last night to finish reading and find out what happened.
Overall, worth...more

Lizzie had been drinking when she saw her boyfriend, Michael, with someone else in the bar. She ran out and jumped in her car, even though she knew she shouldn't be driving. She was tipsy and crying, barely able to see where she was going. She usually slowed down when she approached that certain area of the road, because of the fog, but not tonight. She just wanted to get home.

Then she heard thump-thump. Oh no. She checked her tires and saw blood on the front of her car. Great, she had hit an an...more

Tara Neideffer is an excellent writer. She kept my interest through out her entire book it was that great of a read! Her characters are interesting, and unique. I love the detail she uses when her female character is witnessing/experiencing her nightmares and visions. I read her entire novel Deadly Road in one night! I totally recommend it!

For a first book Tara Neideffer did a great job with her writing. She got me right into the story immediately. Even better, she kept my interest through the whole book. The characters were well written and there were enough twists to keep you guessing. While I was quick to tie the little girl and the man together quite quickly, there was still enough mystery to find out there was even more to the story. There were times during the story though that I felt the sentence structure was not always th...more
