Born at Midnight ~
This book was amazing! A great story with terrific characters! I was with it from beginning to end! Such a delightful read. It was very well paced and never really lagged. Loads of intrigue abut never seemed like too much.

Kylie is a really genuine character that is easy to connect with. You really identify with her struggle to want to be normal and fit in, yet a yearning to be different and special. She is so engaging and not a typical angsty teen. Yeah!! A teen who faces drama

This book, well, actually books, were a shit load of shit storms with shitty shit things happening ALL THE FREAKING TIME. I could give you many examples but I've decided to leave the details out.
My point: this was the queen of drama llamas.
It could say, entertaining, it was just like watching a supernatural drama movie. It doesn't really leaves you a lesson, or get you overly fangirlic—well, except when Lucas or Perry show up—or really, anything. Except frustr

YES! Just when I thought I was running out of great fantasy books and thinking that I wasn’t going to find another great series, I come across this little gem. I had bought this “2 Books in 1” version of Shadow Falls from quite a few months ago, but for some reason I have waited until now to read the series. I can’t tell you guys how sad I am that I waited this long to start it. This series has me hooked in that way where your family is like “Sweetie, I think you have a problem” ...more

Kylie went to a 2-month summer camp and found herself actually somehow supernatural. She was trying to figure out what she was. And she also needed to deal with a hell lot of dramas that happened to her.

I picked up this book was because...well...I have this 2016 summer reading list. I was suppose to start reading this book yesterday. I read YA supernatural. I love Cassandra Clare's books. However, I guess I am affected by The Mortal Instrument series a little too deep. I hate faes. Okay, let's n

I just finished the first book BORN AT MIDNIGHT. I have to say that I really enjoyed it,, I read the new book that C.C. Hunter just published called REBORN, it was a spinoff of THE SHADOW FALLS books and I liked it that I just had to read the whole series. Now I am understanding some of the characters better now.

Born at Midnight was what I expected it to be bit I still enjoyed it. Kylie is a girl who has special supernatural powers, but still can't figure out what they are. She is at a exclusiv

Alright, this series is an OCD nightmare. First of all, nothing is explained or answered -it all just leads to more questions. And the story drags on and on and ON! Then something cool will happen 350 pages in, last ten, maybe fifteen pages, then go back to dragging.

And, honestly, I don't think Kylie should pick EITHER of these idiots. Derek's hissy fits are extremely annoying and Lucas is just not a believable character -or I should say, he's too much like a "character" and not enough like a n

Note: These are my personal opinions. I received no out side person comments or opinions.

I got 1/4 the way through the first book in this two in one book. I wanted so badly to like the book and this series. I've seen and read great reviews about this series and the spin off.

I knew full well going in that the MC was a bit unlikable in the first two books and that it does get better but I just couldn't bring myself to read it. Not when the

What a thoroughly enjoyable pair of books! C.C. Hunter captured my interest from the beginning with Kylie's family and personal problems and her efforts to resolve them. It's a thoroughly enjoyable story that feels authentic to the teenage experience while keeping my interest with Kylie's exploration of her supernatural abilities. Though her quest to identify herself in the supernatural world seems to drag on, and her boy problems seem neverending, these two books do only cover a few weeks of ...more

I was definitely surprised by these books. Going into it, i believed all it would be was a corny, and badly written teen book. But i honestly really enjoyed it. I wouldn't say the writing was incredible, not even fantastic, but it got the point across and the story really intrigued me. I also used to hate love triangles, to me it was always obvious which boy or girl to choose, but in this story, i didn't know which boy i loved more. Reading more of the series has been a pleasure and i just ...more

I'm glad I bought this for 10$ rather than buying the first and second individually for 20$ because this book series is childish and horrible and uniteresting. It reminds me of the Immortals series. Please, pick up another book series to read. If you want something paranormal with a kick ass heroine, a fast plot, interesting/relate-able characters, romance, and action, I suggest you read the Soul Screamers series, because that is a hell of a lot better than this.

This is a funny, enjoyable two books in one. My friend had gotten this book for me for my birthday and I was very excited to read it. I was reading another book at the time but when I finally picked this book up it blew my mind. It's funny and the characters are very relatable. I couldn't get enough of it so I had to get the next ones. If you really enjoy fantasy and magic I highly suggest you pick up this book.

This girl goes to Shadow Falls camp with a bunch of what she calls weirdos which would be shape changers, vampires, werewolves, etc. This book is amazing I would recommend this to anyone no matter what kinds of books you like this book should be read. This is two books in one so the chapters are close together. Kylie is the main character and she is quirky but some parts of this are funny at least to me. PLEASE READ THIS BOOK!!!!!

Well, I honestly don't know why it has taken me so long to finally read this book. This book was amazing! I really enjoyed how the story unfolded and flowed. However, some parts were a little predictable, but in the end, it was amazing.

The characters were great. Kylie was a very strong individual, going through her parents constant fights and currently a divorce, and also her grandma's recent death and the break-up with her boyfriend, Trey. It's hard to keep it together during those types of tri

Kylie Galen finds herself at the wrong party with the wrong people and that one night changes her life forever. Now her mother has sent her to Shadow Falls, a camp for troubled teens. Kylie quickly realizes that this is one camp where the kids are far from ordinary. They are supernatural and they are trying to harness their power, control their magic and still be able to function in the normal world. Kylie may have never felt normal but she doesn
I'm glad I decided to pick this book up in my used bookstore haul last month. Supernatural and paranormal young adult literature is totally right up my alley!

OKAY! I reaaaalllly liked the first two books in this series. It was hard to get into at first, mostly because Kylie bothered me in the beginning. She seemed very judgmental with all the freak this, freak that. Buuuut this is a great example at how this book excels at character development. You can really see how Kylie changes throughout th

C.C. Hunter’s "Shadow Falls: The Beginning" is an interesting tale about a camp for supernaturals reminiscent of James Howe’s "The Misfits".

The main character, Kylie Galen, is a wishy-washy teen on a quest of self-discovery. Naturally, there are the usual elements in these stories. She doesn't quite fit in at school. She has the usual ex-boyfriend who dumped her because she wouldn't put out. And, she has the best friend she can tell almost everything. But, that’s all that’s normal about Kylie an

I seriously want to get the rest of the shadow falls books in my hands so I can end this curiosity of not only who kylie ends up with but what Kylie actually IS .

While not the most complex book I've read, The Beginning: Born at Midnight and Awake at Dawn was an easy and enjoyable read. I really liked the characters. Kylie, while annoying at some times (when she was having a hard time beleiving she was supernatural), is funny and strongheaded, qualities that make for a good story. And as for the love interests, Lucas and Derek, I don't know what to say. I understood both of their connection with Kylie and that's probably why I still have trouble deciding ...more

First off just let me say wow. This book was so different but yet still had enough familiarity to be able to feel comfortable with the subject matter....a camp for supernatural teens. I really liked this book because 1) I loved Kylie, which is our main character. She is so honest with everyone and with herself. The way she handles everything is very realistic. Basically her whole life is thrown for a loop and then pureed. We open to her father leaving because her parents are getting divorced. ...more

I picked this up because I wanted an easy "supernatural teen romance" read. It was certainly that, but it wasn't much of anything else. The story was a constant drama-coaster, with non-stop emotions that got tiring after awhile. The main character was way too whiney, and cried at EVERYthing, which was almost more than I could stand. And somehow two of the main characters are best friends, and yet they are constantly fighting...?? I would not want a relationship like that. However, one of the ...more

I mean, Kylie is facing conflict from page one all the way to the end. There are no slow parts in this rollercoaster ride!
