My Fair Dork (Men of Holsum College #8)
by
Daisy Harris (Goodreads Author)
They say a guy can never be too hung. Well, Harold Jacobs doesn’t know who they are, but they’re wrong. Socially awkward for as long as he can remember, Harold feels his enormous package is just one more thing to be embarrassed about. Especially once hunky and popular Owen McKenzie notices it in the showers.

I love this series - I am totally addicted! We keep getting introduced to new characters but we get to visit characters we've followed in previous stories. Somehow I knew Owen would get a story after meeting him in Bossy and the Brat. But the star of this story really is shy awkward Harold. He's nervous and self-conscious and he admires Owen from afar. When Owen decides to make Harold his pet project, we see a different side of both of them. Harold is so sweet and he just wants somebody of his o...more
Its been a while since I gave much thought to what it was like to be a young college student and all that entailed, but this story took me back to those days. Not that I was a kid struggling and experimenting with my sexual orientation like Owen nor was I like Harold who had a physical aspect to my person that left me feeling vulnerable. I was just an average joe, but I did have friends that could have been Harold or Owen and we did participate in some of the same activities.

My Fair Dork is the 8th installment of Daisy Harris’s the Men of Holsum College series. In this installment we meet Harold and Owen, freshmen at Holsum College. Harold, shy and introverted, also has a physical issue; he is overly endowed in the penis; one that he truly believes will eliminate him from ever experiencing anal sex. Harold also fancies Owen, out-going, out-spoken, and apparently not out. Ms. Harris weaves together a story of a friendship, love, and denial of two very different young...more

Holsum College novellas are the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups ® of M/M romance. No matter what else is in your goodie bag, you HAVE to eat them first.
This installment follows a familiar theme—MCs are scorchingly mutually attracted, but one inadvertently hurts the other due to being conflicted, closeted, in denial or all three. The simple plot allows space in the short novel for the characterization, humor and poignancy we’ve come to expect.

I really enjoyed Harold and Owen's story in My Fair Dork. It was a story about acceptance and liking who you are inside and out and finding love. These two are complete opposites but do have something in common; they have trouble accepting their "true" self. Harold is self-conscious about his physical attributes though he is fine with being openly gay. Owen is a popular quarterback but has problem acknowledging he's gay or at least bisexual. They are not 100% comfortable in their own skin and to...more
My Fair Dork seamlessly fits into the collegiate world Ms. Harris has gotten so good at conveying through her previous seven books in the Men of Holsum College series. In this sweetly sexy story of opposites attracting, socially awkward and ugly duckling Harold becomes popular jock Owen's pet project and before they know it their relationship evolves into something more.

The guy with the huge face bigger than the other guys whole body, see him? Yeah, that's a really cute face.
Now into the book content, oh and I haven't read any of the previous books, I'm a rebel like that. Only 10% but loving it. The opener was so funny. Took me awhile to read three pages since I kept stopping to laugh.
Harold is a riot. Love him so far

This book begins with the ruminations of Harold Jacobs on the unfairness of DNA that gave him a dick like a giant saber, forcing him to shower in the middle of the night like a vampire so as to avoid frightening people with his “oversized dong”. I can’t even believe how much I adored the character of Harold Jacobs. Giant penis, insecurities, skinny butt and bad clothes, he is likeable and so very sweet. His hate/love relationship with his dick just made me laug...more

You know... I could sit here and talk about how this is a story about one misunderstood kid going into college. A little shy, a little timid, a little inhibited about his preferences and his body. What he perceived as limitations. And it's the story about that same gangly kid getting with the man of his fantasies, the jock and handsome kid in his dorm. Yeah, I could go on about that type of relationship for a while because who doesn't want to see the gee...more

Size really does matter. But bigger isn't always better. No one understands that more than Harold. There's really no gentle way to say it. His dick is really, really big. So big, in fact, that it has been a constant source of embarrassment. It's also, however, what drew Owen's attention in the dorm shower room.
Owen has always known he was bisexual. But it has always been easier to just act on his attraction to girls. After his eyeful of Harold's goods in the shower, though, he can't stop thinkin...more

As we return to Holsum College we meet Harold Jacobs. On the outside, I imagine Harold would be easy to overlook in passing. He’d always been shy and awkward with people and if that wasn’t enough, he’s very uncomfortable with the size of his penis. You see, Harold has been blessed with a very large penis. So much so that he’s embarrassed by it. He fears that his size will never allow him to experience sex with a man. So he does his bes...more

I really liked this story. Harold and Owen have great chemistry. I thought that Harold's awkwardness was very cute and made his character really likable. At first I wasn't too sure how I would like Owen giving Harold a makeover. It felt very Pretty Woman-ish at first. But then, as Owen was around Harold more and they got to know each other better, I felt that the makeover was a stepping stone for them to have some kind of a relationship.

I love The Men of Holsum College. They’re light, fun reads and generally they’re pretty hot too. These books are a guilty pleasure for me and I won’t even try to justify them. I like them dammit! That being said, this one wasn’t my favorite.
I laughed when I first read the blurb. The big issue in this book is that Harold has a giant cock, which he hates. He was ridiculed for it throughout high school and is very self-concious about it. He knows he is 100% gay but has never even kissed another...more

Good Lord, was this awesome! Light, fluffy, and erotic with just a whisper of angst so light you barely notice it. I've been in need of something unapologetically fun and this book - the entire series so far, in fact - has been such a great find. If you want something sweet without being over the top cheesy while serving up loads of panty soaking sexy times, this series is recommended.
And that last scene where the monster between Harold's legs got what it's been waiting for ---

My second book read in this series and I loved it. I picked it because I found the plot intriguing--a not so attractive dorky guy who attracts the attention of a BMOC due to the size of his package. I was not disappointed. It's fun to read a dork-becomes-desirable story and the author handled it deftly. I actually knew a guy in college who was just like this - and he definitely did get attention solely based on his rep as being hung like a horse. The growth in both characters was fun and relativ...more

New installment of the Holsum College series brings us plenty of humor, cute guys and the already familiar hotness quality this author writes in spades.
Harold is an extremely shy student whose life has been severely influenced by his physical appearance. Unlike most stories where the 'strange' factor is focused on scars, weight or something equally usual, Harold's problem is in his pants, and it's anything but...more

Owen is the popular guy no one can say no to. Harold is awkward and shy. But when Owen sees what Harold is hiding underneath his baggy clothes, Owen wants to find out more about him.
In this latest installment of the Holsum College series, Daisy Harris serves up another fun, sexy, smart romance that leaves the reader breathless and happy and panting for more. She captures the joy, intensity, and insecurity of young love without being maudlin or predictable. It's a delicious treat as always.
