what a fantastic sequel.
I'm so glad this author kept my interest throughout the book, proving one more time, that this series is not going down the hill.

Its been a while since I gave much thought to what it was like to be a young college student and all that entailed, but this story took me back to those days. Not that I was a kid struggling and experimenting with my sexual orientation like Owen nor was I like Harold who had a physical aspect to my person that left me feeling vulnerable. This was my first book that I've read in the series although this is book eight. I had no trouble reading it out of order. I'm assuming the other couples I met in the story were the main characters in their own stories earlier in the series.

The story is amusing, cute, and a little sad all wrapped up in one. Poor Harold is a shy, bumbling, insecure guy not just because of his clumsy, tall skinny body and with a face that just healed from a bad case of acne, but because he is more than well endowed in the manhood department. His greatest hope is to slide through college without drawing undue attention to himself.

But that is just not to be because the guy he has a secret crush on has noticed him. Owen is the all-around great guy that everyone likes and who is good at anything he puts his hand to. He notices shy, awkward Harold and sympathizes with him because Owen's older sister was the same way. He determines to take Harold under his wing and help him even while trying to suppress a stirring that he feels when he gets a good look at Harold's impressive man bits and learns that Harold is gay. Owen has a secret penchant that he has hidden since Jr. High. He's bi-sexual, but allows everyone to believe that he's only into girls to keep up his image and popularity.

When Owen takes Harold under his wing, things begin to radically change for both of them. Both young men are put on the spot and must make decisions that will affect their happiness, but at the same time its quite obvious that they are both just fumbling in the dark and trying to find their way.

I confess that I was vastly amused at the idea that a story seemed- on the surface- to revolve around a guy's extra-large penis. And on one level, I was chuckling even though I felt sorry for poor Harold.
But fortunately, the plot was much more than that. It included a maturing journey for both guys in this coming of age story that brought them from thinking only of themselves to the end when they were all about what was good for each other no longer needing society's approval for what would make them happy. In between serious moments, there are a lot of college parties, embarrassing and awkward scenes, friend therapy and experiments in bed to keep it fun.

It took some talent on the author's part, but the characters were written in such a way that they were likeable even when they were still working through their own flaws. I took awhile to warm up to Owen, but that was because I wasn't sure if he was ever going to grow up. He did and owned up to his mistakes. Harold was needy, but he started to see his own self-worth after a time. But the character that took my fancy was Harold's friend Seb. He was so cranky, but loyal and I just loved seeing what happened to him at that last party scene hinting that he might be getting his own turn for some fun. I was busting out laughing when Harold was 'helping' Seb get rid of his unibrow with a wax job (I winced for the poor guy).

It was fun finding a new author and series to enjoy. This would appeal to those who like fun stories with a little depth involving a couple of young guys still trying to figure things out.(less)

Owen can’t believe that Harold the dork is hiding something that spectacular under his trousers. Always aware that he is was, Owen has fought to appear straight for years. Although a few temptations have crossed his path, nobody has tested his resolve more than Harold; well his package anyway. He tries to simply by his friend, getting him a makeover and introducing him around campus, but it simply doesn’t tamper his lust. Soon they find themselves figuring out the logistics of having a sexual relationship when one of them is packing an organ would have sent weaker men running.

But Owen is firmly in the closet and Harold has spent years hiding in the shadows; can they really have something that lasts?

Hands up ladies, who has read a romance recently and inwardly winced and/or crossed their legs after a particularly graphic description of the Hero’s mammoth shlong? Hats off to Daisy Harris because she addressed all of my concerns about the logistics of a sexual relationship with this problem without being overly graphic! In fact the handling of the situation was incredibly funny and endearing... I loved the idea of all the blood/energy in his body going to power his giant dong.

I absolutely adored Harold. I can relate to having body issues that you feel the need to cover, but his problem was one which prevented him from forming relationships. He was a loner by default because he avoided situations with lots of people, wore over large clothing and was generally incredibly shy. My heart bled for him and I wanted him to get someone to love him as he was. When Owen came along, he seemed genuinely happy and started to experiment with new looks, situations and friends. Yes, I understand the “changing for a man” trope is a controversial one, but I don’t feel that he did anything FOR Owen. Owen just gave him the confidence to try them out and never pushed him to keep something that he didn’t like. Some of the makeover was done to simply show Owen what he could have....that was realistic enough for me!

Owen got massive kudos from me for his acceptance of Harold. Yes, it took him a little while to get used to being attracted to him, but Owen has been closeted for years and Harold is very openly gay. I liked Owen but he didn’t shine as much as an individual character as Harold; he worked incredibly well in couple scenes though. I loved the way he was willing to try to make Harold be happy with all of his parts and the sex scenes were both incredibly hot and incredibly endearing. I wanted them to be together, but I knew that Harold deserved more than a secret relationship with a closeted bi man.

Overall, this book was hot, sweet and incredibly funny. I wanted this HEA after to happen, wanted Harold to stick on a pair of tight jeans and be loud and proud about his giant penis; I read it in one sitting, devouring every page. I love this series and this is a fantastic addition. Although it could be a standalone, I think that you need to know the previous couples mentioned to appreciate their involvement. (less)

I really enjoyed Harold and Owen's story in My Fair Dork. It was a story about acceptance and liking who you are inside and out and finding love. He's felt undeserving his whole life and because of his negative body images has kept himself hidden under baggy clothes and seeing him come into his own and become a social butterfly was inspiring and put a smile on my face. Once he completely transforms his looks it's he who is now the popular one and I enjoyed seeing a jealous Owen try to win Harold back.

Owen has denied his true orientation forever for fear of what his social circle might think. His helping Howard starts out innocently enough but once he gets to know the real Harold beneath the ugly clothes and bad hair he's completely drawn to him. Their relationship progresses in a natural and increasingly steamy rate that is immensely satisfying and shows a quietly romantic bond behind closed doors. In public though Owen continues to struggle until a grand gesture at the end wins all of us over and gives us a HEA wrapped up in a nice bow.

The sexual interactions between Harold and Owen start off a bit awkward and frantic but ultimately evolve into something more mature and assured. I loved seeing them together and Owen's complete acceptance of Harold gave me great hope for their future together. The secondary characters were equally appealing and it was nice seeing characters from previous books interact with new characters seamlessly. Collegiate life is nicely presented and conveys new students uncertainties realistically in this book that can be read on its own but will be more richly rewarding in a marathon reading of the entire series. Ms. Harris continues her streak of combining steamy and emotional encounters with likable characters and I highly recommend her to those wanting an entertaining and satisfying m/m read.(less)

I was really liking the story up until Owen turned into a douche (view spoiler)

so yeah I was really enjoying it but not so much now at about 60%... The ending was cute and the first 60% did rock a lot so i enjoyed it overall. It is a very funny and quick read so look into it. I did NOT read any of the previous books in the serious. I could tell some of the friends probably did get together in their own book, but i was never confused or anything so you don't have to read the first 7 books to enjoy this one, but I'll probably check them out.

I rarely read Siren books because i find their editing to usually be very poor. This book however was written really well. I didn't notice any editing errors while reading it. Which was a delightful surprise and made reading it a lot smoother.

Oh and i was worried there would be too much sex, but all of the sex furthered the plot and wasn't just inserted to add another sex scene. And the scenes were hot so i enjoyed them.

“Maybe his dick took up all the energy he ate, like a rogue parasite in a science fiction movie. It absorbed all the calories he took in and was slowly starving him to death”.
Or poor Harold feeling himself getting nervous and clumsy:
“Now his feet were going to team up with his tongue and his dick to destroy Harold’s life”.
I mean, really! Poor baby, bodily parts just ganging up on him. While Harold’s dick definitely plays a starring role in this story, it is Harold himself who makes it endearing.

Owen is a jock, one who has admitted to himself that he was bisexual, but who has put his “gay side” firmly in the past. I’m not quite sure why he so firmly did this, as his family was incredibly supportive (and funny, come on, your dad trying to discuss anal sex with you?) Owen takes on Harold as a sort of charity project, improve his looks so that Harold could have a boyfriend. It was a little odd, because you know that Owen wants Harold. It’s admitting it to himself and to others, like his sort of jerky roommate who considers Harold a geek of the highest order, that is the question

Owen walks in on poor overendowed Harold in the shower and doesn’t run screaming (although at one point “Just thinking about what Harold had between his legs made Owen want to cover his ass with the nearest notebook and back slowly away.”

This book made me smile, made me laugh and just made me glad to have read it. It’s light, easy and very entertaining.

But what I really need to tell you about is the star of the show... Let met see if I can pick a quote to describe what I'm talking about:

Ahhhh yes, the star of the show and of this book was Harold's monster cock. There I said it. Damn! That thing was hanging around and laying heavy and alert throughout this whole book. It really did play a major role and I give both kuddos to Owen for taking it and Harold for learning to love it. ;)

OK so back to the story. Other than the magic monster penis on the gangly dorky kid, this story was very sweet at its core. Harold already knew who he was but Owen, even, though he had some m/m experiences in his past, was not aware he was "gay". But their attraction is immediate. And they don't fight it. Well except for Harold fighting nature and trying to charm that snake between his legs into submission at times.

This book was fun....

But it was also very sweet and by the end of this short story I could feel the connection between the two. Probably one of the best couples in the MOHC series by Ms Harris. Can't wait to keep reading!

Size really does matter. But bigger isn't always better. No one understands that more than Harold. There's really no gentle way to say it. His dick is really, really big. As we return to Holsum College we meet Harold Jacobs. On the outside, I imagine Harold would be easy to overlook in passing. He’d always been shy and awkward with people and if that wasn’t enough, he’s very uncomfortable with the size of his penis. You see, Harold has been blessed with a very large penis. So much so that he’s embarrassed by it. He fears that his size will never allow him to experience sex with a man. So he does his best to hide it by wearing extra large clothing. That is, until Owen McKenzie happens to come into the dorm shower one night and gets more than an eyeful of Harold’s peen.

Owen McKenzie is the total opposite of Harold. Popular, athletic, good looking, Owen is well known on campus. He knows he’s bi, having already had a romance with a boy as a teenager, but once he got to college he decided to focus on women, and keeps his attraction to men to himself. When he happens upon Harold in the shower, and gets a look at a very nude Harold, he just can’t get Harold or his penis out of his mind. He may be trying to play a straight man, but that doesn’t stop him from wondering what it’d be like to get his hands on Harold’s package.

Though I have not read all the books in this series, I have really enjoyed the ones I have read and was admittedly very intrigued by the blurb for this book. I’d always thought that a man with a big dick would be proud and would want everyone to know about it, but it was the complete opposite for Harold. Having a large penis was almost incapacitating for him at times and made life difficult for him. So he wore clothing much too large to literally hide himself away.

Owen’s character was unexpected for me. Here you have a good looking, popular guy who takes Harold under his wing under the ruse of helping him get over his shyness so he make friends and maybe find a boyfriend. He saw something in him beyond the size of his penis, though it is what drew him to Harold in the first place. It’s not long before Owen and Harold are friends themselves, though Harold wants to be much more than just friends.

This was the fun part. The author uses a mix of the themes from Beauty and the Beast and the Ugly Duckling in Harold’s transformation and I loved it. At first, Owen is the beauty and he has Harold, the beast, tag along to parties to get him out and try to help him overcome his shyness. He loans him clothes and even takes him to a party at a gay fraternity. Even when Owen’s friends give him a hard time for hanging with a loser like Harold, Owen stands up for him. He’s truly a good friend to Harold until one night when things go a little too far with them and Owen does begin to worry about his secret coming out. He’s so worried, he stops hanging out with Harold.

This is when the Ugly Duckling becomes a swan and I have to admit, I absolutely loved this part. Harold is shocked when Owen blows him off and he really doesn’t understand why. He thought things were good and moving forward, so he’s confused and angry. He decides that it’s time he takes matters into his own hands and he does, brilliantly.

There are many humorous moments in this story, but they do not over shadow the serious notes here. In spite of what may have been seen as Owen’s betrayal of Harold, in the end it was Owen’s friendship that gave Harold the courage to take the step he did in order to make the changes necessary to give him the confidence to fight for what he wanted. The author does a great job of changing the relationship from friends to a romantic one.

This is a short story, easily read in one sitting that will make you laugh and cry and these characters will definitely entertain you!

I really liked this story. Harold and Owen have great chemistry. I thought that Harold's awkwardness was very cute and made his character really likable. At first I wasn't too sure how I would like Owen giving Harold a makeover. It felt very Pretty Woman-ish at first. I love The Men of Holsum College. They’re light, fun reads and generally they’re pretty hot too. These books are a guilty pleasure for me and I won’t even try to justify them. I like them dammit! That being said, this one wasn’t my favorite.

Good Lord, was this awesome! Light, fluffy, and erotic with just a whisper of angst so light you barely notice it. I've been in need of something unapologetically fun and this book - the entire series so far, in fact - has been such a great find. If you want something sweet without being over the top cheesy while serving up loads of panty soaking sexy times, this series is recommended.

My second book read in this series and I loved it. I picked it because I found the plot intriguing--a not so attractive dorky guy who attracts the attention of a BMOC due to the size of his package. ~~I guess I'm feeling generous, hence the two stars.~~ Reality and my conscious just couldn't let me do it.

This story is rather self-representative of the writing behind it. If all you're bringing is an over-developed penis and nothing to back it up, I'll pass.

This was a lot better than I anticipated. I read the blurb and thought....huh....man with an exceptionally large penis? I must read! It was sweet with just the right angst. The insta-love could have been cut out, but I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
