Recommends it for: holiday readers, paranormal fans looking for a quick hit
Gruesome murders combined with witchcraft lore and several likeable characters - exactly what I was hoping for when I picked up The Eighth Witch. It was a quick and easy read with several tense moments that left me with sweaty palms. It is clear from the way it was written that this is part of a series and the characters have a palpable history, which added some depth to what amounts to a very basic tale of "kill the evil witch".

Thoroughly enjoyed this read. First book I read by these authors was Nightmare City. This story was more my speed. Perhaps Nightmare City was just too complex for my taste. I really enjoyed the twists and turns of this novel. It was still realistic enough to be believable and left no loose ends. Thanks for a great read!

Pretty good. It held my interest but wasn't anything really new or different. There was just enough action spaced just far enough apart for it to keep me reading.
