The classic, basic and frankly, overdone M/M storyline: 2 boys fall in love, they live in a bigoted world where “coming out” seems impossible, drama ensues, but after all is said and done, we get a nice little HEA…and so the story goes.

If done poorly, a reader can walk away feeling bored, “been-there-done-that”, same book/different cover…

If done well, the story can feel like you’re hearing it for the first time. It can capture you with its intimacy and with its hon More...

Kele Moon you've done it again!

At twenty-two, Alex Hunter is a native of Mirabella Island off the coast of Florida. He doesn't have much ambition beyond the next good time, and he's poor enough to be lacking in opportunities to improve his life. He's also gay. Though, he's too scared to admit the last to most of his friends, as well as his brother. The same age, Matt Tarrington is rich and the heir to a business empire. He's fulfilling a bet ma More...

4 ½ Emotionally Charged Stars!! I LOVED Alex and Matt, and their bittersweet journey on the road to everlasting love!

“I was born gay, and I will die gay.”

This is a story about finding love, losing it and trying to get it back. So many emotional ups and downs, my heart filled and then it bled for these two beautiful men.

Alex is easy going, arrogant, snarky, but also sweet and charming. Skating through life, and just doing what he needs to get by. He’s also gay and uses his friendship with his b More...

If this were a Movie, it would be perfectly placed in the Chick Flick category...It is a story of Love ~ Found ~ Lost ~ Reunited. With a beautiful, emotional and intense road travelled to the final credits... Loved it!

Congratulations Ms Moon, you are the winner of one of my awards (Thank you Monique my lovely for your recommendation!)

This was a fabulous read to which I give 4.5 stars, and I won't be going into a load of drivel for the review. Suffice it to say that there were two lovely guys, a sensual, tender romance, a perfect setting, some really good friends, lots of food, and another complete cow-pat of a mother who has my undying hatred!! I shall be looking out for more of your books dear author!! More...

This story is one of those where you start at the end, then see the beginnings and come back to the present again and go from there.I always find this tactic to be a bittersweet one, seeing their current situation, then going back to see how good things were, and then now....gah! But it really works for me on the emotion side of things. This way I get drawn in and I am on tenterhooks the whole way through wanting to know what goes wrong and when.

Slice my heart into ribbons and then pour salt into the wounds as I lay crushed. This is how I felt through many parts of this book. Alex and Matt spend a summer of kinky love together. Matt is the rich boy slumming with the “local” boys by working as a short order cook in a rundown café.

Ms. Moon writes lovely moving books for me. She spends time building the characters and showing how their family and choices lead them to where they are today. She invokes emotions from the start of the book. Wi More...

This book was far from perfect.

For example, at 6%, Matt, a very educated CEO, says, "You're doing good." It's WELL, you fool! A major pet-peeve of mine.

ANYWAY, not the point. It may not have been perfect, but I fucking LOVED it anyway.

I loved Matt and Alex (Matty and Lexie *dreamy sigh*). I loved their desperate attraction to each other. I loved the way they fell in love - it was so toe-curlingly romantic. I even loved their break-up scene, even though it was almost comically predictable. I m More...

Well, I'm fast becoming a devotee of Kele's writing. She manages to write erotica that’s not twee or stomach churning, no silly names and acronyms for sexual parts, but simply romantic and tasteful, spicy and sensual, and that’s such a treat after the endless pages upon pages of mindless drivel posing as erotic in some of the novels I’ve read recently. Its not quantity but quality of sex scenes that make a book into one worth reading, and there has to be a really good su More...

What was meant to be a year of fun and relaxation turned into a soul deep, life changing experience.

With no real ambitions, and no cares in the world, Alex is blissfully ignorant of all the things li More...

This is a typical Harlequin Cinderella story but with gay MCs. You have: Matt (Porsche driving, altruistic, multi-million dollar empire-inheriting Prince Charming ), Alex (sweet, naïve, born on the wrong side of the track, penniless Cinderfella) and Matt’s mom (Gucci wearing, bigot, elitist, evil step mom).

Overall, not bad. The worst part of the book was that the reason for the mandatory, stupid breakup (typical of Harlequin romance novels) has been wa More...

Fans of the m/m genre will find much to like in Kele Moon's Starfish and Coffee as outside forces tear apart, and ultimately reunite, friends to lovers Matt and Alex. Matt and Alex come from different backgrounds which you think would keep them apart, but the connection between them sizzles and you can't ignore how good they are together. They're both strong-willed and long to find a new and less stressful life, but they can't hide from reality forever and fears of the truth about their relation More...

Oh how to rate this one?

It actually was difficult for me because there were parts I loved the book, then others got on my nerves.

In the end I should have gone with my hunch. After reading the sample I hadn't been sure if it would be a book for me, the dream in the beginning was to cheesy. But then Holy appeared and she and Alex together were funny and cute and so I bought the book.

So - what did I dislike?
Some parts were dripping cheesy...e.g. the dream.
There was too much sex in it, seriously. I More...

Story of passion, love, heartbreak, second chances and acceptance.

My first from Kele Moon and I pick this up because I'm enjoying m/m love. Matt & Alex fulfill my cravings and more. They both came from different social class. They both fell in love with each other but the social status of Matt and her manipulating mother tear them apart. After 6 More...

This book starts off years after Matt and Alex's relationship ended and then their story is rehashed through the novel. And like any other love stories, the road to happily ever after isn't really sprinkled with roses and rainbows.

Guy from the other side of the tracks falling in love with the straight rich guy whose permanent residence was not Mirabella Island. Alex didn't really think he had a chance with Matt especially with all the odds against him. Matt is an heir with a future ahead of him. More...

Huh. I anticipated liking this so much more than I really did. Honestly, it's basically the all-human, m/m version of Twilight. There's the "forbidden" love, the weeks/months of pure rapture, having found their soul mates... And then suddenly (view spoiler)[one of them decides he knows best what the other needs and ends the relationship "for their own good" without actually ever TALKING to the person about anything. This is my first M/M I've read. Granted, I've read several other books that have characters in M/M relationships but never a full length novel. Of course, the journey to their happily ever after!!

This book starts with a reunion between previous lovers Alex and Matt on the small town of Mirabella Island. But we quickly go back six year previous to when they first meet and stay there most of the story.

Alex and his best friend Holly both work at a diner in Mirabella. Alex’s parents died years ago and he lives with Holly and his brother Will. Alex knows he is gay, but has never come out to the public or his brother, fearing the towns people would be too vicious to him. Everyone assumes him a More...

This was a sweet, super sexy, beachy read about love and forgiveness and overcoming differences, and I was really enjoying it. Like four-and-a-half stars enjoying it, up until the very end. Here I mean that at 98%, there was some ridiculous last-minute secondary character drama that was so completely unnecessary that I just didn't know what to do with it. It was as if the author was trying (not very hard) to wrap everything up in a nice HEA bow, but all I wanted to do was strangle someone with s More...

Everything I have read by this author, I have loved, so I didn't really expect NOT to like this book, but what I was surprised about was how much I loved it in spite of it being m/m. Not gay for you, not "something I did when I was drunk", but truly the story of two men and their love for each other. I absolutely loved this book.
