Good book. I liked both Jesse and Miranda, though Jesse certainly didn't make a good first impression. Miranda had wanted to start a new life so when she came into some money she bought the Double Trouble Ranch. Her intention was to live there and open some type of shop in town. When she arrived on the ranch she didn't expect to find Jesse there taking care of horses and cattle that she hadn't known came with the ranch. She also didn't expect to get verbally attacked by him when he discovered s ...more

I loved this story!! I was drawn into Ramblewood and the community. And Jesse and Miranda were just wonderful to get to know. Between her sassy comebacks and his stubbornness, this was a sweet and fun read and makes for a great start to the Langtry men!!

Miranda is looking for a fresh start. And she hopes she has in on the Double Trouble. One look at the ranch and she knew she had to have it. After her mother's death and her ex-fiance's betrayal, all she wants is some peace. What she is met with

Betting on Texas details the move of Miranda Archer to her newly bought ranch in Texas. When she reaches the Double Trouble she meets Jesse Langtry, who feels Miranda stole the ranch out from her. They both feel attracted to each other, but with the issue of ranch ownership between them, their relationship is not a given.

I felt this book was a good, quick read. If you are looking for a deep read that has a lot of depth, then remember the book is only 224 pages. Betting on Texas had a nice flow b

I won this book on the goodreads giveaway and I am so happy that I did. I loved it and it is one of my favorites that I have read from the American Romance series in harlequin. I really liked Miranda and thought that she was a really hard working girl who no matter what Jesse throw at her did the job she was told to do and did it well, while Jesse on the other hand was an angry man I did not like him as much as some of the other men in the book. The ending was wonderful but I thought that it was ...more

This was a fun fast read with relatable characters. The scenery was vivid and I was easily able to visual the town of Ramblewood. I understood why Miranda and Jesse each for so hard for the ranch and didn't back down from one the others demands. This author has a light humorous tone that really shines through in her dialogue. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Betting on Texas is the first book in a new series set in Texas. The characters were fun, quirky and down to earth. I loved Miranda's determination to start over and Jesse, while gruff at times, was warranted since the newbie in town stole his ranch! I sat down planning on reading a few pages and ended up reading the entire book in an evening. Looking forward to the next book.

BETTING ON TEXAS by Amanda Renee
The story of Miranda and Jesse.
More Than The Ranch At Stake

eager to leave city life behind and start fresh in the Texas Hill Country. But the property came with some unexpected extras: a few cattle, a couple of horses…and one surly cowboy.
From the minute Jesse Langtry first laid eyes on Miranda, she captured his heart. Beautiful and determined, Miranda is everything Jesse wants in a woman. There

I had a problem with the adversarial relationship that was established between the protagonists. Because they both wanted the same thing - Double Trouble Ranch - neither would compromise their personal dreams for their future. To Jesse it represented independence from his family, and for Miranda, it was the home and stability she never had growing up. Jesse's rage was inappropriately leveled at Miranda, and that made him very, very hard to like. He also put her in danger of being injured by the ...more

I received this book as an ARC. Miranda Archer has purchased a ranch in Texas site unseen. Her best friend advised her this would be a perfect place to start over. Jesse Langtry had his heart set on owning the ranch. He had devoted years to improving and working on it for his friend and believed they intended for him to buy it when they retired. They never got a chance to retire or make their wishes know because they were killed in a wreck. Jesse tried to make life so hard for Miranda she would ...more

This was an enjoyable read that keep me interested in plot and characters. There was comedy that had me laughing throughout the book. Jesse is a stuborn man who have the time you just want to slap him but on the other hand you feel bad about the loss of the ranch. While Miranda is a strong character and stuborn in her own right it is and interesting combination. Jonantan adds a bit of mystery to the book: Why does he a have Miranda buy the ranch? Why does he not answer the phone when Miranda cal ...more

Excellent story! Not your typical romance story of boy meets girl, they fall in love, then live happily ever after in bliss. The story line is well written with twists, turns, and surprises. The characters are perfect and mix well to bring interest throughout.

Per FTC rules, I received this book free via Goodreads.com.

Won this book on goodreads contest giveaway! Another good American Romance book. Unfortunately it seemed to drag on a little in the beginning and then all of a sudden everything happened so fast. Every one was happy. It was a good read. I always enjoy books with hunky cowboys and ranches.

I enjoyed this book, but I have mixed feelings about it.They are falling in love but Jesse has a trigger anger problem. Yet he has patience needed to train horses. Anyway there are funny parts, serious parts and sad parts. Add a little suspense, it makes for an interesting read.
