A little slow to start as it rolls out multiple story threads, but it all knits together seamlessly once the action kicks in. Neeta and the rest of the cast are at their best when everything falls to pieces; even the bit players get their chances to shine (Earnest, we salute you!). What really helps to flesh (ha!) out the experience is that instead of just being vicious land-sharks for the exterminators to destroy, the zombies have remnants of old habits and personalities, the consequences of wh...more

This was an incredibly fun read. Slapstick zombie comedy has always been something that I've enjoyed, and Karina Fabian has put a lot of that in here, in this story about zombie exterminators gathering for a conference when, you guessed it, a bunch of zombies show up. It's refreshing to read a story that doesn't assume that the arrival of zombies would just mean the end of humanity, and the society that Fabian presents remains similar enough to our own that the entire zombie experience becomes a...more

This is Zombie Fiction like no other. Karina puts a fabulous comedic spin on her stories without making them silly and unbelievable. Her heroine Neeta Lyffe (get it?) is a true-to-life neat freak with an obsession for cleanliness. And let’s face it, a girl whose day job is to don on a Hazchem suit and get covered in Zombie entrails, deserves to be a little quirky.

Quite an imagination. Karina made up names of places that had me laughing.

If there’s such a thing as ADD of the imagination, Karina Fabian has it—in spades. Craft books, devotionals, serious science fiction, comedic horror and chilling fantasy—she follows her interests and the characters that tell her their stories.

Even before she could write, Karina strung tall tales about everything from making human pyramids in Kindergarten to visiting alien worlds. Her first attempt...more
