I wanted to love this book...I really did, but I just couldn't. It almost seemed like Ryan was a completely different person that the one we met in Preservation. I don't understand the complete 180. He went from super alpha, confident, willing to do anything to get what he wanted in life. his career and his relationship with Kate included. The Ryan we met here is anything but all that. He questions everything, his career path, his past, Kate's honesty and his self worth. Drove me nuts. Then when...more
I'll round it up for 4.5 stars.
First off, I loved Dean and Carter. I think they are the kind of best friends I would want. Hell, they ARE the bestfriends I want (and already do have in female versions) Simply adorable and protective and so, so funny.
Reservation lstarted off with Ryan's thoughts about the changes in life. Very altering, indeed, but I missed the Professor-student factor. With that, I guess it's safe to say that the author handled the post-St. lucia story thoroughly. I fell in lov...more

Holy Crap! I just finished! I liked this installment, but I think I liked the first installment better, but that could be because Ryan's douche tendencies were hidden. In his POV all of his horrid character flaws are on display and in your face.
Don't get me wrong, he does have redeeming qualities which are the kinds of things that had me sitting on the edge of my seat praying things would work out for him.

As we all know 'Preservation' was in Kate's point of view which I loved, but I'm glad that Rachael decided to switch it up a bit and write 'Reservation' in Ryan's point of view, because honestly it was truly more entertaining to be inside the mind of a man, well okay maybe NOT all men are as entertaining as Ryan but I loved his side of the story none the less. I loved being inside his head, "Dear God, the woman had a banging body." Ryan is just the same if not more head over heels in love with h...more

Oh Ryan, there were times in this book I wanted to smack sense into you and times I wanted to hug you silly. Things aren't smooth sailing after how book one ended with the proposal. There are still many issues to address, things need to be done, careers on the start. Life can get hectic fast, these two learn firsthand that your past plays a role in the present.

Reservation is the sequel to Preservation where we first met Kate and Ryan. I read Preservation nearly a year ago but I hadn’t forgotten these two characters. I remembered their emotional beginnings and them being two scarred and damaged souls. Both are aspiring Authors; a Teacher and a student with each their own emotional baggage. And yeah…I remembered Ryan; I don’t think anyone would forget this gorgeous tattooed alpha male who has just the right dose of vulnerability and a huge heart as well...more

Yes. This book was a test in patience and self-control. I was either biting my nails or pulling my hair! It felt like I knew the end of the world was coming and no one would listen to me.
But, aside from all that stress that had turned my tresses white...I really, really liked this!! It was fast-paced and always kept you guessing. Just when I thought a situation would explode, it didn't and vice versa.

I received an ARC from Rachael in exchange for an honest review.
I loved Preservation, Love & Relativity, and now Reservation! This book broke my heart a little though. While most wouldn't think that's good, I actually think the books that make me feel strong emotion must be a positive thing right?
Ryan...I have a love/hate relationship with him in this book. I wanted to hate him after a lot of things happened but I couldn't. And Kate...I loved her in this book. It was nice to see through Rya...more

Ryan Campbell had it all, a girl he wanted by his side and a publishing deal that would allow him to share his art with the world. One spilt cup of coffee and a forgotten wallet at home and his world camping crashing down around him. He lost his girl & his publishing deal in a matter of five minutes. He swore to never let it happen again and entered into a phase of debauchery with whom ever he pleased. Two years later, Kate Parker walked into his world and Ryan realized he was down the wrong...more
Let me start off by saying I have been a Rachael Wade fan for a long time. I love how she writes her characters and breathes so much life into them. She has this way of making her characters so three-dimensional and strong that you cannot help fall madly in love with her stories. This particular story I have been waiting for a while.

Ryan Campbell is a professor in love with Kate Parker. He has a dark history with women, many of whom were his students. He has professed his love and devotion to Kate and now they are making plans for marriage. She is currently working in St. Lucia, and he is in Seattle. The long distance is a strain. Ryan has signed with Simon and Warden and his career is in hyper speed. His agents want him to be a celebrity. With that comes the paparazzi and lies from the tabloids.

I picked this up since it was free on Amazon, and I already had the previous book (also for free on Amazon).
MEH; I had some hope after reading the first book, but I felt like Ryan was all over the place. He decided to take stands or lie down at completely wrong times - leading to some clearly set up shittyness. I realize he was trying to put his life together after years and years of womanizing ways, but it just didn't seem believable.

OMG! This book messed with my head and now I'm exhausted from holding my breath, gritting my teeth, and yelling at Ryan. I really enjoyed the love story and happy ending of Preservation and was totally not expecting the gut wrenching roller coaster ride I endured trying to reach my HEA in Reservation. Racheal wrung every emotion out of me. I enjoyed the antics of Kates two male best friends, and the closeness and support of Ryan's two female best friends. It was refreshing to get a glimpse of Ry...more
I'm rounding up to 3 from 2.5 stars because I like Rachael Wade and I liked the first book. I can barely type this review because my head is spinning from this book. The whole "have you seen the papers?" and miscommunication stuff just dominated this book and it was so distracting that it made me dizzy. I barely made it through the last 20% and just skimmed pages. I rarely do that. Ryan and Kate fought too hard in the first book and overcame so much. These two brilliant writers are too talented...more
Oh Mr. Campbell, they didn't have teachers that looked like that when I went to college. I couldn't believe the side of Ryan that was hidden from us all in the first book. I thought he was a guy that got burned and was tarnished from the betrayal from his ex but she really did a number on him. The downward spiral of his moral code was non existence. I know he wants and likes control but I never thought that he was a Dom in the hiding. Oh that Amy girl, she was so willing and ready for him. I thi...more
I enjoyed getting to know Ryan a bit better. We get to see and understand his insecurities better in this second book about the relationship between Kate and Ryan. A lot of people seem to be put off by how dysfunctional and co-dependant their relationship is. To me it just made it feel all the more real. At some points the story line seemed a bit farfetched for me but I was easily able to suspend disbelief enough to enjoy the story. I'm looking forward to Carter's story coming out soon! All in a...more

I’m going to be straightforward about this one…If someone had told me I’d be giving this book five stars, I don’t know that I would have believed them. Although I’m well acquainted with (and a huge fan of) Rachael Wade’s work, I wasn’t really sure I even wanted to read Ryan’s book. I’d fallen in love with Ryan at the beginning of Preservation but by the time I'd reached the end, he'...more

I enjoyed the read, but felt it dragged on abit towards the middle of the book and had me pause to read another in which I then would continue to read it a day later just so to find out what was actually going to happen.
I felt it took a while to move forward to see where this story was heading or not, I got a little emotion towards the end of the story and began to panic when I notice there wasn't much left of the story and the plot hasn't come to a ending (one of which I liked), but just when I...more

As I fell utterly in love with the first book of this series, Preservation, I knew I needed to read this book as soon as possible. Thankfully, Rachael sent me a review copy and I was able to get to it after meeting other deadlines for blog tours.
Let me tell you, this book was incredible! It was just as good as the first book. Usually, I find that in reading sequels, they some how can't manage to live up to how much I loved the first book. But this time, I can happily tell you, that wasn't the ca...more

Rachael Wade never fails to keep her readers captivated by her story lines. I love the detail she gives in each and everyone of her books, its as if the story is playing out in front of you, so vividly.
I cried a lot through this Reservation, there was a lot of heart ache, it was so nice to see Ryan's POV. You don't get a man's POV in stories very often but it was just EPIC!! I really felt for most of the characters in the story especially, Ryan, Carter and Kate. I wanted to reach thr...more

Where do I start? Way to kick a man when he's down, Rach! My poor Ryan! I just wanted to climb into the book and give him a hug. He angers me and makes me love him at the same time. Now I know how Kate feels :-). Reservation was a whirlwind of emotions and I couldn't help but feel every single one of them with the characters. I felt like Ryan was living Murphy's law...what can go wrong, will. I knew that Ryan's past history with women wasn't ideal but I was not expecting that! I'm not spoiling a...more

This was Ryan's book...recapping some of his past then leading into the present. This point of view/book tore me to pieces. I was so worked up. I always want my happy ending and I knew with Kate and Ryan being such works in progress that a "happy ending" wasn't going to come easy.

I found this so hard to read. Im ok when writers use the maler perception every other chapter but not the whole book. I loved the first book so much but I really struggled with this. I was only 1/3rd of the way through and had to go to the last chapter and read the epilogue. Some sequels have great potential and this did but was runied. I heaved a sigh of relief when I finished this. Im sorry :(
This was one wild ride let me tell you.
Dear Professor,
Get a clue you arrogant ass nothing revolves around you. even though I wanted a happy ending this just sucked totally. I understand loving someone but really does it have to hurt. I understand everyone has stuff to deal with but c'mon. I would not put my stuff ahead of feelings because as a couple there needs to be communication. I loved the story and the characters it brought tears to my eyes. The emotions seemed a little dramatic here and...more

This second book in the series was not a disappointment. It will leave you lusting after Ryan, screaming at him, then crying for him. I loved the characters in this series and am excited to see what's going to happen to Carter in the next book. Dean and Carter brought the comedy to this book and it would not have been the same without them.
I couldn't finish because this book was turning out to be so predictable. The first book in the series was all about them getting together....the second book seeing if fame will tear them apart and showing a lot of people in ugly light! I only finished 40% but I couldn't do it. I don't enjoy the extreme angst after you have invested in a relationship when all the secondary characters are scum of the earth.
I loved Preservation, it is by far the best free book I've ever downloaded from Amazon. I devoured it, once I was done I messages Rachel Wade asking about a sequel, and then I patiently counted down the days till Reservation arrived, while ever so often rereading Preservation.
I love Wade's writing style and I genuinely liked this book, but I didn't love it like the first. I felt like the chemistry between Kate and Ryan wasn't there like in the first, there definitely weren't enough scenes with...more
