A continuation of the story line started in the first book it centers around Viper, Dante’s ally, and Shay the Shalott that helped rescue Dante’s now mate Abby. As in the last book there is a continual chase throughout by demons after Viper and Shay. Great followup to the first Guardians of Eternity book.
Shay is a half-blood Shalott, some sort of demon whose blood is a major attractant to vampire's. She is a slave that was held by the coven of witches in the first book. She helped dante, Abby and Viper to defeat the witch.
Viper is the leader of the Chicago clan of vampire's. Immensely wealthy and dangerous gorgeous. He is attracted to Shay and buy's her at an auction to be his slave.

I liked this book a lot more than the first in the series. It engaged the characters more and focused on who they were so the reader had more of a chance to care about where the story was going.

recurring character shay seemed really out of character. could be enjoyable nonetheless, but author really needs to work on character consistency.
