OMG!! Carly Wallace does it again! We find Ethereal in a very difficult situation. This story is about domestic abuse, and the more often then not real world outcome from it.... Death. It is also about learning to forgive and being able to move on.

Well I want to first thank Carly for letting me read her amazing story. I have to say Carly never seems to disappoint me in everything she has done with her writing and other work! In her latest work you read about a girl named Ethereal who's life comes to a horrible end. She is then condemned to a life of helping others cross over and everyday she is changed back into a concrete angel waiting the for the night to return so she can come alive and do her work all over again. I'm not big on short stories, I think it's because I've never read a very good one and also I enjoy a lot of information a back story and a complete journey. We all have to make choice's in life, some are for the best and other's are just out of spite and revenge. When Ethereal find's herself in the afterlife after losing her life senselessly she is given a choice and in order for her to move on she must learn how to forgive even those who hurt her most. I loved this book! "Concrete Angel" by Author Carly Wallace was heart-wrenching, true to life and most of all, chucked full of Paranormal Intrigue!
Ethereal is a true to life woman who has been used and abused. Keep a hankie on hand because I was welling in tears for some of the book. However, the Paranormal element was there, and it kept me guessing. Ms. Wallace captures the exact feelings of hopelessness and bitterness that envelopes a human soul.

The author did an amazing job at pulling me into the story without it feeling at all rushed or forced. I instantly harbored an intense hatred for Nathan and an equally immediate and strong connection with Ethereal. In all honesty, I am amazed at the talent of this author, as even though it was a short story/novella, it still reached me with such emotional force that I felt that though it had only been 13 pages, I was joined in some way with the main character as if I had shared in every moment w...more
This is a stunning short piece from Carly Wallace. It's heartbreakingly beautiful, and also a little hard to read in places as it comes from a dark place, a place that some people don't have the courage to think about, let alone write about. Ethereal is a woman who is wronged, she has her life taken from her, but she refuses the whole way through to lay down and just die. I love strong female characters, and this story takes that to another level.

This is an exceptional short novella. My heart ached for Ethereal and what she went through with Nathan, then about her decision in becoming a concrete guardian angel to help lost souls to cross over. This story about love and abuse and afterlife is amazing! Totally loved it! I love how you at first hate the livin' daylights out of Nathan,then after you learn of his past you kinda think "No wounder he was the way he was,he didn't even have a chance at a normal life".You have to learn to forgive,then move on.

Beautiful and haunting Carly Wallace lets the emotions pour out in this devastating and beautiful tale. It left me chilled to the bone and at the same time warmed my heart with the sensitivity that the words carried with them. I thought about this story long after I finished it.

This story had me from the first page. A dark emotional read, Concrete Angel is a book that will have you thinking well after you've finished. This story shows that forgiveness can be found in even the darkest and deepest depths of the human soul and that we can choose to follow a dark path of hatred or let go and find peace. Amazing.
I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. This is a short read but is very deep. After a brutal death Ethereal becomes a concrete angel to help guide newly departed souls. This is an amazing read that will touch your own soul! WaAR
