A couple fascinating parts do not make up for the rest of this book which was infinitely boring. The subject matter should not be boring, so how did the author write such a dismal work? Mostly by skimming so lightly across the surface of everything that I felt like I was reading a table of contents hundreds of pages long. Ughh.
Great intro to the city and urban life. This is a hymn to urban life and don't look for doom and gloom here. great book.
