Love this book!! The only reason why I gave it 4*s was because of some typo errors, but other than that the book was AWESOME! I love a book that will take you back in time!!!!

Most would have probably complained that the story was too short and too pricey for its length, but if you are a true Ashley Antoinette fan, then you will read any of her work at any cost. Like most, I had the pleasure of reading The Cartel series before Carter Diamond, so I pretty much knew the story. BUT if you want to read some more indept details of how it all began, then Carter Diamond is for you. Ashley paints a very vivid picture of how some of the major players from The Cartel series got ...more
So.....I love their writings I truly do. However, here recently it's like they are just throwing these stories together and neglecting certain aspects such as grammar and punctuation. I clearly understand that this is an urban fiction, however here was an entire section that was referencing Taryns "solo" story line and yet it kept saying breeze. Was there no one to look this story over?! Overall I like the idea of bringing us the history of how Carter Diamond got his start but I was way too dist ...more
I love the fact that Ashley & Jaquavis takes us back to where it all started...I was into the book from start to finish lovin every bit of it understanding more of how things happen the way they did in the beginning...Yes it was a short story, it tells u on the cover an yes it may have a few editing errors but if your a true reader u would get past that..anyway I caught myself all in it when Carter did what he had to do no doubt..and I know that f*ckin loso had something to do with it...Grea ...more
Good book it was to short and it leaves you hanging that's why I gave it 4 stars.
I'm looking forward to part 2 of this series

A must read.

As always Ashley and JaQuavis continue to tell a story with plenty of action that keep you wanting more. The only reason I didn't give this book a 5 star rating is there was errors in editing with mix up of characters. At one point I was thrown off trying to figure out if the character Taryn and Breeze was the same person until I figured out that it was a mix up in. Characters. But this is still a good read because it gave you the background of Carter Diamond and how the Cartel begin

Read after the cartel

I read this steer the first four books of the cartel while waiting on the 5th it wasn't very good because it was too short with so much background all jammed together in a few paragraphs. Not to mention all the typos is anyone else having this problem?

A Good Beginning

This was about the rise of Carter Diamond soon to be the head of The Cartel. I like it but like it said. Short. You'll find out some interesting tidbits here. Lol. Not too much to be said because it's so short.

Carter diamond...definitely five stars because of the information that is given pertaining to how Carter diamond became The Carter diamond. However grammatical errors will keep it at a four-star rating. I'm off to part two of the trilogy of Carter diamond.
Carter diamond

I enjoyed this book. :D even though it was short. I like myself some Carter Diamond lol! I never thought his story would be interesting but it is (:

I love the book but

I love the fact that the authors write a book about Carter Diamond and where he came from. But the grammatical errors in this book are horrible.

Recommends it for: True A&J fans
17 pages of the back story that fills in the blanks of who Carter Diamond was. It's the story of his beginning and rise to the top and how he became the man he was. You meet him at a young age and a few vital players in The Cartel series along the way. I enjoyed the story although I had to fight through the typos and errors along the way. I don't know what happened there because that's not like them and I'm hoping for a corrected copy and cover art(for Nook) soon.
The E short ended with a cliff h
Love it

I feel in Love with the Cartel I've read most of them so seeing how Carter Diamond got his start is all good. Great story. On to part two.

I really enjoyed this book ready to start part 2. I have got to know what happens next. on to the next
Since I'm a huge fan of the Cartel Series I wanted to read about the life of Carter Diamond before he became "the man". As stated in the description, this was definitely a short story and I personally don't think that it's worth $3.99. Although it was an interesting read, there was not a big wow factor about the story. It does get the message across regarding how Carter met the women in his life and began making his empire. There was a noticeable amount of errors and there were also times where ...more

great book want to read more. what a wonderful story I just love carter diamond I can't wait to read part 2
This book shows us where it all began..before there was a Cartel. Before one of the greatest in the game was ever born. This prequel takes us back to the come up of a legend in the streets, Carter Diamond, Sr.

I liked the plot even though a little trite, but its always all the same in the drug game: live by the gun..die by the gun. I had issues with the grammatical errors. I especially hated when the wrong name of a character was used...more than once I might add. That messes with my mental pictu

tarven and Carter is going to be a ride or die couple.
Nice for a short story.

I loved the Cartel series so I knew I'd love this book to tell how it all started. The storyline of course is excellent and Carter is the man! I'm upset that it was so short though. I gave it a 4 because it had more grammatical errors than I am used to seeing from their quality of work. Also, although I love the storyline some of the events/ages conflict with what was originally written in The Cartel 1. Nevertheless, I loved the story and if anybody can deliver it's Ashley and JaQuavis.

This was much better than I ever could have imagined. After reading the Cartel 1-4, learning how it all started was mandatory. Ashley and JaQuavis have me feeling like the "fiends" they write about... yearning for more after each page!
