It’s time to travel with our Special Agent in the Canadian Intelligence Service, Justin Hall again. First, we froze with him while he was saving the world in the arctic in “Arctic Wargame”. Now, in a cruel twist of fate, or maybe his boss, Claire Johnson, just has a sad sense of humor, we now travel to the heat of the desert in Tripoli.

Justin Hall and his partner Carrie O’Connor have been sent to Tripoli. As in any good spy thriller, you never know who you can trust or what to believe. Ever sinc

Sorry to say that although I quite enjoyed the first book in the series, I have found it difficult to summon up a great deal of enthusiasm about this one. To me it is rather too simplistic and formulaic. It does not have enough to set it apart from other books of the same spy thriller genre. It is, I am informed, a very successful series, but it is not for me,so I am moving on!

Not much. Somewhat better than Arctic Wargame. This story is a farfetched fantasy disguised as a thriller/spy story. Still little emotion and suspense. Two agents walk through this one again. Would foreign operatives really call themselves secret agents? After Super Duper Agents Carrie and Justin get involved in a firefight with a few nationals killed at their safe house they pace the sidewalk out front instead of escaping any involvement. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Now everyone knows who they are. It’s ...more
Ethan Jones in his second book of the Justin Hall series, Tripoli's Target, brings us another spy thriller featuring Justin Hall and Carrie O'Conner, Canadian Intelligence Service Agents. This time our adventure is in North Africa as the CIA experts attempt to spoil an assassination attempt in Tripoli, Libya's capital. Jones starts us off with a bang as we have a group of terrorist in separate vehicles communicating via radio, each with a target to destroy. All but one is a suicide bomber. Jones ...more

Tripoli’s Target introduced me to Justin Hall, one of the operators in the Canadian Intelligence Service. In this story the Justin and the CiS receives information that there is going to be an attempt on the life of the president of the United States. As Justin dodges missiles and bullets he discovers that the target is not what it seems to be. The instigators are after another target and the leader of the conspiracy is from a ruling house that no one wants to irritate.

This is a fast-paced spy thriller set mostly in post Arab Spring north Africa -- Egypt and Libya.

A pair of undercover operatives with the Canadian Intelligence Service need to thwart a plot to attack world leaders (including the US President) at a G20 meeting in Tripoli. Working through contacts they have with the militant Islamist group behind the plot, they chase the bad guys around Egypt, Libya and the south of France. There's non-stop action, culminating in a last minute rescue mission at Tr
TRIPOLI'S TARGET is the second novel featuring Canadian Intelligence agent Justin Hall and his partner Carrie O'Connor. They are back operating in North African from the Cairo station.

Their assignment is to slip back into Libya to meet with an Arab Sheikh part of a terrorist organization. He wanted a meeting to pass on important information. Justin is reluctant for a couple of reasons. He's a terrorist and Libya was where he'd been held prisoner and tortured a bit over a year ago.

Tripoli's Target
Justin Hall #2
by Ethan Jones

Canadian Intelligence Service agent Justin Hall is back and this time Libya is under threat from terrorists. And Justin is not alone on the case, his partner Carrie O'Connor is hard at work on the case as well.

Sheikh Ayman of the Islamic Fighting Alliance cancels a meeting with the CIS agents at the last minute and then makes a hasty exit via Cairo International Airport. As the agents ponder this change of plans Tripoli is rocked by a series of car b

This is Ethan Jones' second published novel, following the well-received Arctic Wargame. It continues the story of two Canadian Intelligence Service (CIS) Agents, Justin Hall and Carrie O'Conner, this time involving an assassination plot in North Africa.

As before, Mr. Jones proves he can write a good thriller novel, especially the plotting aspects. The story was well constructed and it served to advance the story arch of the two main characters. I also noticed the dialog was even better than the

Ethan Jones has followed up his fine debut novel, Arctic Wargames, with this sequel. He has crafted a more concise action packed thriller. In this sequel, the primary characters demonstrate an internationally adept investigation service embroiled in turmoil in the middle east.

The storyline is well developed, interesting, flows well from scene to scene, and does not bog down. I was intrigued at every level while I read this novel. It was really difficult to put it down when life's responsibiliti

Tripoli’s Target by Ethan Jones

This is the second book in the Justin Hall series. Justin is a Canadian Intelligencer Service agent. This action laden adventure details his involvement in Middle East terrorist activities with his partner Carrie O’Connor.

Justin is a volatile character and reacts to many situation emotionally. Carrie, his partner, leavens his behavior with a little common sense. The plot can be pulled right off of the CNN news wire. Powerful Arabs trying to grab more oil wealth w

I'm still reading this series out of sequence. This is the fourth book I've read. There were a few editorial misses, but overall it was pretty clean.

I enjoyed this book as much as I did Arctic Wargame, which was a pleasant surprise! Carrie and Justin are trying to stop an assassination attempt this time in north Africa.
TRIPOLI'S TARGET - 2nd in the Justin Hall Series.

I found it a good thriller novel and the story arch with the two main characters was an interesting read. At times some of it was over my head in the political aspects but it was interesting to read about another country and how they work their systems.
