Gwen Reaper by Jaz Primo tells the engaging story of Scott Blackstone’s life and how it all changed when he moved from Springfield, Illinois to Custer, North Dakota. His father decided to move the family in order to run the family business after his grandmother’s death. The move came right before the start of his junior year where he had a starting position on the football team. Things seem to be going sour but he learns that the new school’s football is in need of players and he has no problems ...more

Scott Blackstone is sure life could get worse, but he’s not sure how, since after his grandmother’s death his father has decided to move the family from Springfield, Illinois, to Custer, North Dakota, in order to run the family businesses. Moving just a month before starting his junior year and a spot as a starting safety on the football team is just “craptastic” in Scott’s opinion.

After arriving in Custer and enrolling in school, Scott discovers the football team has had losing season
I have followed Jaz since I bought my kindle back in 2010. I purchased his first book Sunrise @ Sunset at .99. I have since then read his following books for that series and was thrilled that he allowed me to read this book! I loved Gwen Reaper as much as I have his other books. I can't wait to see what Jaz has in store for Gwen & Scott next and I am also looking forward to his new read that will be out in December Along with the new Sunset Vampire book scheduled for next year! Jaz keeps me ...more

In my humble opinion, Gwen Reaper (A Young Adult Paranormal Romance)is an engaging and unique YA paranormal romance that captures readers' imaginations while also offering them something unique. For example, the novel is written from the young male’s perspective, Scott, who is pursuing the captivating and mysterious Gwen. The story unfolds in the quite-real, small town community of Custer, South Dakota. I hope that readers will enjoy Gwen Reaper!

Jaz Primo has been a favorite of mine since I started reading his Sunset Vampire series years ago. His ideas are always one step ahead, with a different take on the vampire stories. His Alpha in that series is a woman, Katerina Rawlings, who has a human love interest integral to the storyline. It is definitely Not YA, so I was really surprised (in a good way) to see another choice added to his repertoire, a YA story with a male POV. Hmmm interesting.

We meet Scott Blackstone, teenager,

5-stars for this fantastic and ironically realistic story of the unbelievable, penned by Jaz Primo. It will have you staying awake till - let me check - yep, it's almost 2:00 am and I just finished reading it. :)

Enter our young couple, Scott and Gwen, for whom I was pulling from the get-go.

A horrible and somewhat mysterious family tragedy a few years ago leaves Gwen a very reserved and withdrawn teenager. Living with her mom who is a doctor, Gwen has opted for homeschooling due to her strong de

Seriously...what's not to love about this book?!? It's unlike any other I've read so far! Jaz is amazing at balancing action, fun, love, surprise, laughs, & mystery! If you're looking for something completely different & exciting this would be for you!
Truly terrific! It was so not what I expected (in a good way)! Not to mention a gorgeous cover!!!!
Scott Blackstone is just a normal teen trying to deal with what life throws at him....or is he??? I'd say most certainly not! This is one out

I fell in love with this story right away! It’s not often you get a story told from the male POV. Jaz managed to not only pull it off but got me hooked and begging for more! I loved watching each character struggle with their own insecurities and trying to get past their internal demons. The progression of the story was constant and the descriptions were spot on. I felt like I was there seeing exactly what the characters were experiencing! The relationship between Gwen and Scott is pretty much s ...more

I loved this story of Scott and Gwen.Very well written and plotted out, made for a fast paced flow.

Scott is forced to move to his parents hometown after the death of his grandparents. He is sure the small town in nowhere land is going to be boring and that he have no friends.Scott is used to being popular and having tons of friends.

Then he meets Gwen,a strange quite girl. For some reason he is drawn to her.He likes her strangeness and wants to get to know her better. But Gwen is loner and she likes

Scott Blackstone was forced to move back to his childhood town after his grandparents die. He thinks it's going to be nothing but boring and will meet no friends. Scott enrolls at high school as a junior, then joins the football team. When he goes into town one day he meets a beautiful keep to yourself girl reading in the local coffee shop. He walks up to her and ask to sit at her table, not knowing who she was or what she was. He finally learns her name, Gwen who is what you would call a loner ...more
I wish you could give half stars on the ratings. I'd give this book a 3.7 actually. First, I like that it's from a male's POV and the one without the supernatural powers, too. So, I really liked that aspect. The story is original and well written. I would have liked to see a little more history about the reapers. I liked Scott, but had a hard time feeling connected to him. I think it was because he didn't seem to think like a typical teenage boy. His inner dialogue lacked just a little snark, ma ...more

Where to start, where to start... I loved this book. I think I enjoyed it more than most other YA since it wasn't written in 3rd person, or by the girl's pov it was written entirely from the male perspective.
If there are other books in this genre out there written in the male pov, I haven't seen them and there need to be more. It was a refreshing twist to see the world through the boy's eyes. This story, like all of Jaz's works thus far that I've read, is well written. You easily fall into the w

This is my first book of Mr. Primo's to read. I'm not going to write a synopsis of the story.

Why haven't I read his work prior to this book? I must be crazy, because he is a talented writer. I loved that the story was a male POV - I could have done without all of the football talk...but guys talk about stuff like that. I thought the characters were believable and well developed. I started the book earlier in the fall but had to put it aside until recently. I found the story very creative and I'l

I loved this book! The storyline was something new and fresh. The book is very well written. It was a fairly quick and easy read, yet it kept me intrigued and entertained, I couldn't put it down! I liked that the story was written from a male point of view as you don't come across that often in this genre. I really liked the twists in this book. The only thing I didn't like was that it ended too soon lol. I would have liked to learn more about Gwen's abilities and how her relationship with Scott ...more

I have been a massive fan of Jaz's novels since the very beginning and I have been in love with everything he writes. His first series , The Sunset Vampires is amazing so I knew that his first step in YA would be nothing short of outstanding. And like his previous books, it didn't disappoint at all! It was 100% amazing.

I won this book in a contest. I'm so glad I entered. It is refreshing to read this type of book from the male perspective, rather than the typical female side. Even though the female character is the para, the first person telling is from the OUTSIDE of the para. I loved it. From beginning to end. I wouldn't mind seeing what happens to the characters in the future...
I am a big fan of Jaz Primo and was interested to read this new book . Loved every twist and turn on the pages. A brilliant start to a new series. Roll on book 2

A very nice book. Good characters and its easy to care about them. Nice to read a story from the guy's POV. Thanks for the free book and swag.

It was fun to read a paranormal story from a guys point of view. My boys will love it! It was full of mystery, romance and football. Too cute.
Love the book cover! Excellent writing; very good YA romance (a bit of PNR) story told from the male POV.
Loved it! Hope to hear more about these characters in the future
The love story between Scott and Gwen is adorable. Scott fell hard for Gwen and never came up. Gwen was one of the luckiest teens in the whole city to have Scott courting her, yet she still put him through the ringer constantly, making him almost beg for every tiny piece of herself until he almost dies for her. It's tragic. It's romantic. They were just teens in love. Except Gwen's not just a teen, she's also a Reaper and that apparently freaked the whole town out. But not Scott. He stuck by her ...more

Starting off with the book, personally I would give it five stars. Although getting into Gwen Reaper was a challenge to begin with, it got me engaged. Jaz Primo’s use of mild humor and dark fantasy kept my interest. My favorite part of the mild humor was when Gwen showed Scott her pet alligator Chewie. Its name Chewie was beyond funny and the way Scott was mellow on the outside but totally freaked on the inside made me laugh. The way they could use their gifts was cool, yet twisted. It made me ...more
So this is the first story that i have read of Jaz's, but I found that I really enjoyed it!
This story starts off with Scott Blackstone and how he is currently moving from Springfield, Illinois to Custer North Dakota. Scott’s father was the one that decided on the move when Scott’s grandmother died because his dad was the last living family member to keep the store from falling under. The move was very inconvenient for Scott considering it was just about the start of his junior year of high schoo
The story was amazing. I loved the plot of Gwen Reaper. I loved how Scott participated in all that was happening and how he and Gwen fell in love with each other. I liked the format of the book and hope to read more by Primo.
This was a good book I could have done with a little less football, but then I'm 60 reading YA books. For the audience it was meant for it is a great book that I have recommended to young people in my family.

After reading all the great reviews this book has received, I am SO looking forward to reading it!!!

The cover was what originally got me interested in this book and I am seriously glad it did. I am not used to reading novels from a males point of view so it was a bit different but it was not a bad different whatsoever. Scott was a well-developed character that seemed really good at playing football and was a pretty popular guy. Gwen is his complete opposite and that was pretty much what attracted him to her
