I’ve read Pamela Clare’s Historical Romance series, MacKinnon’s Rangers highlander novels, Surrender and Untamed and loved them both, so when I heard that she had a romantic suspense series, I was pretty sure I’d enjoy them as well, and wow, was I ever right! Now my biggest dilemma is, do I plow through the rest of the books, one after the other, or pace myself?

Extreme Exposure is the first book in the suspense filled I-Team series. The I-Team is the investigative reporting t More...

6th Oct 2010 - Initial thoughts were:

4.5 Stars - I really enjoyed this! But....This book made me think of my work. For that reason alone, I'll have to minus half a star. LOL ^o^ Actually, to be more accurate, my line of work made me question parts of the legislative process portrayed in this book and now I feel like I need to do "homework" to find out how it works in Colorado. Dang! ^_^

Kudos to Ms. Clare for taking two of the most hated professions, and giving us three-dimensional, lovable characters in these professions that question this reader's perceptions of people in these fields. Kara is a reporter, but she is one of the reporters that show the ethics and the dedication that the people in this field should represent, in a perfect world. She's a really sweet person, but is also strong and driven to do a good job. Kara faces the struggle that many American women face, r More...

This is my second time reading Extreme Exposure and this is my second attempt at writing a review. No words are adequate enough to explain how great this series is. While it may not be my favourite of the series, Extreme Exposure starts the I-Team series with a bang! It really has all you could want in a romantic suspense novel. It’s clearly evident that Clare is a terrific writer. The words flow and there are great moments of suspense and the right amount More...

Wow! What an awesome writer and a great romantic suspense! Pamela Clare creates some truely memorable characters and a larger than life hero in this, the first book in her I-Team series.

Kara McMillan is a young single mother, working as an investigative journalist for a Denver newspaper. She's working on a story that would expose a company that is dumping chemicals illegally and polluting the environment. This company has some powerful political allies, and they just may include More...

I burned through Pamela Clare's "Extreme Exposure" like a chocoholic after a year's drought. I'm torn as to whether I liked this one even more than "Hard Evidence" which is book two of the 'I-Team' series, but the one I read first! I love the fact that these books are gripping romantic suspense, yet still believable. The characters are wonderfully flawed and the relationships are complex and seriously HOT.

It's been longer than reporter Kara wants to think about More...

Oh, wow. It's not often that a book leaves me speechless after finishing it, but Extreme Exposure is definitely one of those (rare) books.
I actually don't know what to write in my review, so I'm just going to blab a little, if you don't mind.

This was a completely impulse buy for me, because of the good reviews it got from my GR friend. And because I usually go a bit crazy where books are concerned, I bought the entire series, based solely on those good reviews (I didn't read t More...

Pamela Clare's Extreme Exposure is a treat for contemporary romance readers. Clare's familiarity with her subjects and her well-rounded characters bring reality back into a genre that eschews fangs and flights of fancy. Even the danger in this novel is Erin-Brockovich-plausible, where a mining corporation ignoring health and environmental regulations wants to silence our nosy heroine, reporter Kara McMillan.

I loved the detail with which Clare related Kara's investigation. In science More...

I wanted to take a couple of day to think about this book before I posted a review... well a couple of days have passed and this story still 'pops' into my head.
To start with.. Reese is PERFECT! The man can cook, clean, has excellent taste in food, and wine. He was (and plans to be once again) a teacher who ran for Senate because his students challenged him to prove what he was teaching them 'that anyone can run for office and make a difference'. Reese has a conscience and He's an ideal More...

She gets a confidential tip from a whistleblower, which opens an huge environmental corporate investigation uncovering serious violations affecting people's health. She starts to get death threats as someone worries she is getting to close to the truth. Meanwhile, she meets Reese, a handsome state senator who isn't at all what she expected. Reece and Kara are just awesome characters. I love their personalities and Pamela Clare has a way of just sucking you into the pages.....

With his dangerous good looks, charm, and power, Senator Reece Sheridan could have just about any woman he sets his piercing eyes on. But he’s intrigued by only one. This Kara, this gutsy investigative reporter, has a sensuality that arouses him to no end. If she’s a firebrand in print, he guesses, she must be just as fiery in bed…

But More...

You know...some days I think I nitpick everything, and other days I feel like I'm way too lenient with books. Considering the fact that I actually did enjoy the book, it makes me feel a little guilty for how much I'm about to pick apart the male lead.

Reece was just too perfect for my tastes. I can handle perfect men in fantasy and pnr themed books because there is often a magical or race related reason for the perfection. When it comes to realistic and contemporary fiction, I crave f More...

When I started this book, I’m not exactly sure what my expectations were, but I feel like they were exceeded. I certainly did not expect the story to be as good as it was. So needless to say I really enjoyed this read.

Wowsers. Pamela Clare is a force to be reckoned with. Intelligent characters in a gritty, realistic setting and who have fantastic chemistry from the moment they meet. This does not happen everyday! But when it works, by golly, it works.

The attention to detail is pretty staggering, and I appreciate that Clare, who has years of journalism experience behind her, has made the great effort in keeping her story and her characters authentic, with weaknesses and strengths, vulnerabilities More...

I'm not reviewing this one in depth since it's been done by bajillions before me, but I enjoyed the story and characters, and I LOVED the sense of humor. But I didn't feel it was a rocks my socks fantastic book. I can see why so many love this series, though. And yet, I couldn't get the pages to turn fast enough (stupid e-reader button!). It had a few eye-rolling moments, definitely. The "demands" Kara made of Reece kind of pissed me off, and I think that it *is* o More...

A nice--different--romantic suspense based on a state senator, Reece, and an investigative reporter, Kara. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was fast-paced, with great characters (including secondary), funny, suspenseful, romantic, and well written. There is wide-spread corruption in both business and political bureaucracies--scandal, murder...it's all in this book.

I found it refreshingly different because the hero and heroine were "just" regular people, going through More...

WOW!love it, it was amazing. how Pamela is going to top that i have no idea but from the review about Pamela she does and i cant wait to continue reading.

Kara has been hurt by the man in her past and now is very cautious with the men she meets. Reece has no problem taking it slow and showing her that he's there to stay (as many times as it takes ;)). they meet at the right time. but they meet when she's having margaritas with her BFF. Now any man that comes back for more after a marg More...

I have been wanting to read this series for month's, especially after reading all the great reviews it has warranted. I sat down with my Kindle last night at about 10pm just intending to read for a couple of hours before going to bed. At 5am, I was done! Reece & Kara's story, scratch that; their spark, lust, desire, love - just leap off of the page and grab you. It refuses to let go until you finish. My only true sadness from this comes in knowing that I will devour this series so quickly an More...

3 1/2 stars.

I couldn't decide whether to give this book 3 1/2 or 4 stars. I finally decided on 3 1/2 stars because I disliked and was annoyed by Kara's character through most of the book. She did, however, become more palatable by the end of the story. Unfortunately, because of my dislike for her character, and the fact the plot mostly revolved around her, I had a hard time staying fully engaged in the storyline.

In addition, I would have preferred that Kara and Reece, her More...

I have to start out by saying that I am an infrequent Contemporary reader. I am super picky and usually end up extremely unhappy with my reading experience because of how unbelievable I find the characters. This book was freaking awesome! I couldn't stop reading once I started!

Pamela Clare ROCKS the romantic suspense world IMHO! There is just the right amount of romance, and it is smoking, for the amount of suspense in the story.

Reese and Kara are wonderful characters that the reader will fall in love with right away. Especially Reese, man is that fella sexy. I have seen several reviews where readers were put off by Reese and Kara's first face to face exchange, but I foun More...

For some reason, the series name, I-Team, had me expecting an Elite Ops/SEAL/mercenary sort of romantic suspense. So I was confused for a moment there when I realized we were dealing with the Investigative team of a newspaper and not hot men who are trained killers, heh. But once that was cleared cleared up, I started noticing a few things.

The book is a lot more romance than suspense, so much so that you could take the suspense part out, and you still pretty much had a solid romance More...

Oh wow! This book was absolutely fetching from the first page to the end. I think I found a new series for my top favorite shelf!

Eight of the wonderful things that makes Extreme Exposure so great:

1. The dedication. It's one of the sweetest I've ever read, and definitely a nice change from the usual dedications to family members or fans.
This book is dedicated to the more than 1,400 American journalists who’ve died, mostly through assassination and murder, while trying to expose the truth. Their names are inscribed on the Freedom Forum Journalists Memorial in Arlington, Virginia, a landmark to democracy’s often

Pamela Clare knows how to write. Her plotting is never simple and always smart, yet she manages to entertain whether she's writing historicals or contemps.

Extreme Exposure, the first in Clare's I-Team series, is fantabulous! Now, I am not a huge straight contemporary romance fan, and though I enjoy her historicals immensely, I held off on the I-Team series for awhile because of my usual "meh" feeling toward the genre.

Kara's story is a great introduction to the I-Team. When you meet the Team, you can see the dynamics already and know they're like a big family. Their interactions are so funny and you can see how passionate they are about their work, enough to put their lives on the line.
