Writers who trip up on details when writing about other countries always bother me. India has autorickshaws, not tuk-tuks (that's Thailand that has those). Chaudhurys and Jaffreys are from other parts of India and while you might find some in Kerala, you're likelier to find Menons & Nairs (of whom none are encountered). The Taj Mahal is clear across the country and Kerala is nothing 'Taj Mahalish'. Bangalore is not 'practically down the road' and what Indian says things like 'nicey-spicey'?
