Well, the smoke has cleared from the crazy ending in the last book and now the Pentonites are trying to figure out how to exist in the Omega. Things are moving along fine till Matthias decides to get a little aggressive.

I really enjoy both Randa and Will but I feel that they got cheated! Too much is happening with the ongoing story and it doesn't really allow them much time for their romance. Their time in the tunnel was great but it seemed more of a 'why not' instead of a 'yes, please!' Randa...more

Book 3 of the Penton Legacy and it featured Will is the only living child of the antagonist Mathias Ludlam, and Matthias was still bent of bring both Will and Aiden to heel.

In this book, we got a glimpse into Will's childhood with Matthias. We learned that he was such a wise-ass to hide a life of pain and insecurities. While it was the thing that made him clash with his partner Randa Thomas, a former military officer, who came to Penton after being turned. Randa had only been a vampire for five...more

I am so glad I waited until all 3 books were available before I started this series. While Will wasn't my first choice to be the focus this time out, its rather fitting because he is a linchpin for the trilogy and I'm glad that I was wrong he was definitely the right choice. I was apprehensive because there were other characters I was interested in and I enjoyed the bickering between he and Randa previously. I couldn't be sure they would be able t...more

A supremely imaginative paranormal romance that will delight fans of Keri Arthur and Charlaine Harris.

Fresh, current and contemporary this thoroughly modern narrative is one that slots into its genre beautifully, as something refreshingly new and exciting! Omega is the third installment within a steamy paranormal series called ‘Penton Legacy’ with Redemption (book one) and Absolution (book 2). Omega continues the story as foretold within the previous books with Adrian and Matthias in heated con...more

I have about 25 things running through my head right now as I finish this book… YES!! NOOO! OMG! Sweet Baby Jesus! Holy Crap! GET ‘EM! I really want him dead! WOW!! That’s just awesome! And HOT DAMN!! Ok so now that I’ve gotten that out, let me say this, I really didn’t think Ms Susannah could top my Book Boyfriend, Mirren’s, book Absolution, but to all things holy, I think Will’s story and the continuation has blown all expectations out the window, through the sky, and into the universe! It’s s...more

Omega was a huge turning point for this series! Susannah Sandlin wasn’t afraid to tear everything she has built down and remake it into something new. The change of scenery made this entry feel very fresh and the lead characters were a lot of fun.

Will’s father is Matthias, enemy of the Penton scathe. He has worked his whole life to get away and not let his father change him. Penton is where Will belongs but he is not above sacrificing h...more

I’ve been a very lucky reader this year and have found many original paranormal reads, Omega is definitely one of them. It’s exciting, sensual, touching, and fun all rolled into one great read any fan of the genre will enjoy.

Randa is one kick butt heroine. She’s a tough chick that has an amazing heart and outer beauty to match. She’s a fairly new vampire (5 years to be exact) and cannot bring herself to accept her new life and what it entails. She closes herself off a bit from others and her own...more

My English review

After the end of Absolution, we can only have one wish: Read Omega. Indeed, the events of the second volume ends in a fairly explosive way and I was curious about the followings events.

So we start directly after the end of the second novel and our whole town took refuge in Omega, but it’s only the start of troubles and Matthias has not abandoned his desire to destroy all the inhabitants of Penton and especially to recover his son. Will and Randa patrol around...more

Omega occurs as the Tribunal has decided to disband the community of Penton. With lives and freedom on the line, everyone is tense and on the edge. Will is spotlighted in this series and his sharp wit and teasing nature are on vivid display. This story progresses and the action builds with a tension that is palpable, demanding that you read on. As this series has progressed, more of the background information for all of the characters and the hesitancy about the Tribunal becomes clearer, and urg...more

I think I would call Omega the final volume of the first trilogy of the Penton Legacy. I say this having read that there will be more stories in this world, but Omega certainly lives up to its name; it feels like closure of the first arc.

There are two stories going on, one is the love story, and the other is the war between Aiden Murphy’s followers and the Vampire Tribunal, or at least Matthias Ludlam’s faction. The love story seemed to take a back seat to...more

I believe this series was originally just a trilogy, so this book would have been the last. As such, it was a great ending. The leaders of Penton were redeemed in the eyes of the vampire Tribunal and are able to start rebuilding the town. Additionally, the "bad guy", Matthias is removed from his position of power and arrested. I thought Omega was very well written. Sandlin was great at showing readers the hardships of the town retreating underground and getting readers invested in their fate. I...more

One of my favorite things about this series is that the author doesn’t drag out the plot. Each book has a totally different and unique story. The characters have all been different, not carbon copies of each other. I was curious how she would get the Penton vampires out of their current debacle, and I was pleased with the direction she is taking this story. This is a unique paranormal world, which is difficult to do with the thousands of paranormal books out there. I love it and can’t wait for t...more

I enjoyed this series more than I thought I would by the end of the first book. I think the series had trouble deciding if it was a paranormal romance series or an urban fantasy series. The first two books were much more focused on the romantic relationship of the protagonists and the long arc and book arcs were merely framework. The romances were not bad and with each book got more interesting, for example there was a lot of "does he like me, what is he thinking about me" sorts of things in boo...more

I love this series. From the first book I was hooked and it has only gotten better. In this story the third book of the series, we get to find out more about Will.

Will has been a secondary character up until now. He is a trusted member of the Penton community and has helped to design it and Omega. He has faced many challenges along his way, the main one being his father who is Penton's worst enemy.

We also get to find out more about Will's partner in patrols and his main conflict in the town - R...more

Matthias Ludiam has been given the okay by the Vampire Tribunal to bring down the leaders of Penton, Alabama. His attack forces Penton’s inhabitants to retreat into Omega, Their underground stronghold. The tribunal doesn’t realize Matthias has ulterior motives, among them repossessing the son he abused.

Vampire and former US Army officer Randa Thomas is the assigned partner of Will Ludlam. The two are like oil and water, or so they think. After being trapped together after an explosion they disco...more

I have been looking forward to Will's story since the very first book in this series and I have to admit, Sandlin didn't let me down.

Not only did I get more of Will and all the character's I have come to love over the course of the series but, just when I thought I couldn't possible dislike Matthias any more, Sandlin proved me wrong and I did. Oh how I did.

I won't get into details but I will say that he is an evil, evil man that deserves whatever is coming to him.

Will. Oh Will. Just when I think...more

I will confess I had my doubts about this book.

I loved the first two books in this series and the overall storyline and I was dying to read how it all would end in this last installment. I didn't much like Will in the first two book though and he's the hero of Omega, so I was worried if I'd like the romance.

I loved it!

Will turns out to be a complex character with hidden depths and Sandlin managed to make me fall in love with him. I also really liked Randa. She's strong and stubborn, but willing...more

The third book in Susannah Sandlin's Penton Legacy series, OMEGA continues the story of the vampires and humans who try to lead peaceful and cooperative lives in the face of ever-increasing danger and persecution. I really enjoyed the first two books in the series, especially ABSOLUTION. I also enjoyed OMEGA but it didn't quite meet my expectations, perhaps because they were too high after the previous instalments. Don't get me wrong -- OMEGA is still a great book and I wouldn't hesitate to reco...more

Omega by Susannah Sandlin is the the third installment of the Penton Legacy series. Omega picks up right where Redemption left off. I have to admit that I was a little worried about how Susannah was going to get the Penton group out of the tight spot they were left in at the end of Redemption. Literally. Yet, not only did Susannah pull off another great addition to this series, she enriched the overall series even more. Wil...more

I have read the first two books in the Penton series and I have been eager to read Will’s book, even though I am sad because that means he’s going to hook up and won’t be moving into my Palace that I was going to rename Wilmi’s Paranormal Palace….. but anyway, I sucked back the tears and dived into the book!

Omega begins only a couple of days after the end of Absolution and the showdown between Adrian and Matthias. Will is the drop dead gorgeous lieutenant in the Penton scathe who has some secret...more

It’s no secret that at She-Wolf Reads there’s a lot of love for Susannah Sandlin (a.k.a. Suzanne Johnson) and her Penton Legacy series. I’ve reviewed the first two books and loved them, the author has guest posted on my blog, and the latest book in the series, OMEGA, made my most anticipated reads for 2013. There’s something about this community of vampires and their layered relationships, coupled with the tenuou...more

I just absolutely Love this series, I loved the first 2 books, Redemption, then Absolution, but really enjoyed this one. It’s just builds up and gets better with each book. This one focused more on the brilliant, and gorgeous Will, I liked him in the previous book a lot, and loved his banter with Randa, and even then thought something may come of it. Well, in this book, finally Will finds his equal, and I loved that. We also learn some more of his horrendous past with his father, and it will hav...more

Omega is the third book in the Penton Legacy series by Susannah Sandlin. The one focuses on Will, and the ongoing war. The Penton residents are underground – hiding from Will's father. Matthias is determined to get his son back, and get revenge on the citizens of Penton.

Things are getting tense with Matthias closing in on their location, and the Penton residents getting antsy from being stuck underground. The humans are getting sick and the vampires are having to cut back on feeding.

Will has alw...more

Recap:

Will Omega save the vampires and humans of Penton, or be a death trap?

In Absolution, the peaceful vampire-human community of Penton was attacked by Matthias Ludlum, its corrupt Vampire Tribunal enemy. The town had retreated to its underground bunker, Omega. Ironically, Omega was designed by Matthias's son, Will Ludlum. Will is faithful to the leader of Penton's "scathe," and is one of his lieutenants. Will's patrol partner is Randa Thomas, a former US Army...more

AHH!! I looooooove this series!!!!

I was so excited when I found out that Omega was going to be about Will. I gotta say, he’s always seemed like a deep character to me. I don’t know why. He was always the guy who made things light. HE is the kind of hero I love to read about.

Ms. Sandlin did an excellent job writing him. I fell in love with him. He just tries so hard to prove that he’s…worthy of the people he looks up to, that he’s not like his father. I guess, Ms. Sandlin just really struck a cor...more

I’ve waited so long for this book that I was anxious to start it in good condition. The last book of a series is always special… we want to have a conclusion and in the same time we don’t want to leave characters we have come to enjoy a lot. It can either make of a good series a wonder, either crash all the authors’ efforts put in it. Omega is keeping his promises really well and gives us a wonderful insight on Will’s personal...more

Omega is a fiery and passionate story that thrusts the reader into the middle of a war between Vampires. The resistance has retreated to the underground fortress. Omega. They are being lead by Will, who has strong ties with the Vampire Tribunal. His father is the leader of the Tribunal and would love nothing more to capture his renegade son and make an example of him. Will must prove to the resistance that he is more then an outcast Elite, he is one of them, and he will fight to his last breath...more

I loved Aidan and Mirren's stories but this one just didn't do if for me. I had always liked Will as a character though he had also felt kind of a peripheral in the first two books. For me, Book 3 was a solid transition from sidekick to main character.

Will as something of enigma in the first two books but Sandlin did a good job of teasing out all of his complexities, making him a really complex person who I found myself invested in. Randa, the love-interest, was also more nuanced than I expected...more

The third book in the series, and I am glad to know it is not the last one. This series just keeps getting better and better, and I enjoyed this story a lot. At the end of book 2, the Penton vampires and their bonded humans were forced to flee for safety underground and they were not really ready for that just yet. Living underground is hard for humans, especially when there is not much to do for them. A lot of vampires and humans were killed when Matthias Ludlam attacked the town, and more have...more

Susannah Sandlin is the author of paranormal romance and romantic suspense, often set in the Deep South, where there are always things that go bump in the night! A journalist by day, Susannah grew up in Alabama reading the gothic novels of Susan Howatch, and always fancied herself living in Cornwall (although she’s never actually been there). Details, details. She also is a fan of Stephen King. Th...more
