Author Elissa Grodin earns top marks from yours truly for her charming and intelligent academic super sleuth Dr. Edwina Goodwin. With due diligence and a keen mind Edwina is able to work through a set of theories that may prove relative to solving the murder of famed academic Professor Alan Sidebottom.

Professor Sidebottom appears to have been both loved and loathed by many people including a number of Edwina's colleagues at Cushing College. In the course of her own investigation into the murde

I'm afraid I didn't last long enough in this book to comment on plot or character. It is a first book, and I tried to cut it some slack, but the writing was so awkward and the punctuation, in particular, so full of errors that I did not last long. I guess I should have been forewarned by the errors in the Acknowledgements before the book even began, such as "Thank-you [sic], Professor Strominger." This charming mystery set on a college campus in New England, is a chock-full of quirky characters with whimsical names. But don't be deceived - we're still talking murder here!
Physics Can be Fatal is a terrific, old fashioned style, who-dunnit with the makings of a series. The author has a great use of language - especially her character descriptions are wonderful. Grodin seems to have channeled Agatha Christie in this delightful, compelling mystery. Fun.

A very enjoyable cozy type mystery. Likable characters and a satisfying plot that I could not predict, but for which the ending was good closure. I look forward to sequels from this author. Anyway, how often does an author get to include actual science in a mystery! (I'm a nerd myself)
