After reading the first book, Few Are Angels, I knew I had found something amazing, and now after finishing Awakened I'm even more excited about this series!

Receiving this book early had me dying to start it because I've been so excited ever since I finished Few Are Angels. I just couldn't wait to find out how this story was going to continue and what was going to happen to all the characters I've come to care for.

4.5 Stars! In Awakened, part 2 of the Few Are Angels series, Ella is gone and Kale will do anything to get her back, even if it means working with his mortal enemy, Jace. But how is Kale going to do that while keeping Mia and Alex safe all while keeping his bloodlust under control?

But how is Kale going to do that while keeping Mia and Alex safe all while keeping his bloodlust under control?

In book 1, Few Are Angels, I fell in love with Ella, her strength and stubbornness after all that happened in her life really helped me connect with her and in Awakened I fell even more in love with her. As she was being held captive I really got to see how deep her heart truly was, as she made attempts to see her captives as more than just the enemy. When most people would have crumbled and freaked over their situation Ella continued to look for a way out, a way to get back to those that she loved.

And Kale, he continued to blow me away, as he continually showed his never ending love and devotion for Ella. In Awakened Kale really shows us how far he is willing to go to keep Ella safe, from everyone; including himself. All the fans of this series knew that bloodlust was going to become an issue for Kale, and I would love to tell you that it didn't, but it did. And it broke my heart. I would love nothing more than for Kale to conquer his bloodlust, Laurent, and the council and just sweep Ella off her feet, but I can't tell you that if that happened. And I can't tell you if it didn't. You will have to read the book and find out for yourself.

But I can tell you that there is a lot going on in this book and we get to see the story from many different points of view. Though I did enjoy seeing the story from multiple angles, I think that 5 points of view is just a couple too many. I think that this story would have been just as good, if not better told from just Kale, Ella and Jace's points of view. However, I did enjoy getting to see what drove each character as the story was told from their point of view.

I have to say that Alex's point of view shocked me and Jace's often frustrated me. I am still not sure if Jace can be trusted, I find that I lean more and more towards Kale side and his ideas the more I get to know Jace. And don't even get me started on the council!

I love Inger Iversen's spin on immortals and vampires, or chory, as they are called in the series and her idea of the Arc. When I finished reading Awakened I think I had more questions than answers, more concerns, and more cracks in my heart. Inger Iversen is doing such a wonderful job of telling the story that is the Arc and destroying my patience and heart along with it. I can't wait to get my hands on Immortal Heart!

So, if you like vampires or immortals, then this is a series that you absolutely must read!

Awakened picks up right where Few Are Angels ended. This one however starts with Helene having a vision of the events that happened to Ella.
I liked this book better than the first one. That in itself is a rarity. Where Few Are Angels was solely Ella's point of view, Awakened has multiple points of view. This of course gives the reader a better understanding of the events unfolding without there being many holes.

Inger has obviously figured out my weakness (no it's not for vampires) but for hot shirtless men, you have one on your cover you bet your arse I'll read your book! So if you haven't read the first book "Few Are Angels" and haven't read my read my review about it then you obviously don't know how much I love Kale, and I probably love him more in this book, because DANG the man is on a mission. I just love Kale in general people, there really isn't a reason why the words that come out of his mouth amuse me, turn me, and leave me wanting more, "I'm good. Luckily I'm chory, and I don't have to worry about freezing me 'nads off. Maybe we could hurry this up? I'd like to get this show on the road sometime tonight." Laurent though didn't like him in book one sure as hell hated him in book two he's such a total ASS! "Laurent called his name. "If anyone other than me enters that room, end them." Like seriously man get over yourself! I loved when Elle and Kale were together they had so much playfulness and it made me happy (yes I'm a sappy person who likes butterflies and roses and romance) "This is very inappropriate, Kale," I said with a smile. With his own sly grin, Kale lifted himself all the way up and stood beside the bed. He held his hand out to me." The best thing about this book (well besides the plot) was the fact that there were perspectives from all the characters (well except Laurent's point of view I could care less about that ass anyway) and I like books who have more then one point of view of a character it allows us inside their head.(less)

First I want to say if you haven't read this book yet then you need too! It was an AMAZING follow-up to the first book in the series "Few Are Angels"! This book was unlike anything I have EVER read! The writer sucks you in from the first page to the last and has you longing for more.

I am feeling so much after just finishing Awakened. I am sad, angry, hopeful...wow what an ending. I am dying to know what happens next! How could you leave me hanging like that?

Awakening starts right where we left off in book 1 Few Are Angels. My favorite part about the way this book was written was the way Inger was able to incorporate everyone's point of view! Each chapter is titled someones name and then told through their view-how cool is that! I'm always wondering what everyone else is going through in the meantime because i'm so nosy lol, so this book was right up my ally :)

In this book, as the focus changes to Ella’s disappearance, there is less mystery and less romance. What made the first book so addictive was gone. I was already a book and a half invested in this series when I realized this, thus, I continued. I just wanted to see the end and get on it.

Then, bam. The storyline twisted in such a way, I was brought to tears. Just like that, the book was interesting again and I could not put it down. So, if you find yourself bored, stick with it. It gets better. It is worth it.

I could not help but notice the rivalry between Alex and Kale, as it came front and center. I am not sure who to root for here. Alex is so steady, warm, and familiar. Yet, Kale is a fireball of passion. It is not really an even playing field, is it? This is a storyline I was interested in following.

I loved getting to know Mia better. Learning Ella’s past clarified a few things, though muddled others. It just proved that not everyone is as they are cracked up to be.

The twist in the epilogue was a good one. It is one of those that make you sit up and exclaim, “I knew it! I knew it!”

The writing again had issues. I wondered why Kale and Helene were described as doing things “centuries ago” when Kale was reborn 150 years ago. So, once again, the contradictions were there. Weaving a tale showing what multiple characters are doing at any one time demands the third person. It just does. The skipping around of point of views in this book was simply not as effective as third person could have been. While it is nice to get into the heads of characters, third-person storytelling also allows for a stability which simply did not exist here. On top of it all, there were minor mechanical errors sprinkled throughout. The book could use another once over.

Again, there is no ending. And again, I was disappointed. I have now read two books that do not have an ending. What is this? Days of Our Lives? The lack of an ending or conclusion on any level just plain is not sitting well. Readers, you have been forewarned. There is no conclusion to this book contained within this book either. Maybe I am just bitter because I want to know how it all turns out? ‘Cuz I am.

Given these issues I mentioned above, I would still rate this story as one worth reading. Once again, I would feel comfortable recommending this to a general audience, given the level of violence, sexual romance, and other aspects to this book. If you do pick up this one, just know that there is no released, published ending at this time. The author is currently working on the prequel to the series, Immortal Heart. We may have to wait a while to see the conclusion. Sigh.

Favorite line - it didn't stand a chance from the moment I plucked it from it's home and placed it in your hand. You cannot stop its death.

You ever read and book a book where you enjoy it because it has so much of your favorite things but, is so different too? Well that's Awakened.
It has all the things I love in a book, like biting, blood, and hot men but, has so many different things to like Chory, La Luxore, and Arc!!

First let me say the Revamp cover is gorgeous ..Awakened is a great sequel to few are angles thrilling exciting page after page action packed one of my best reads this year by far They so much drama in this book I love it Ella is missing . Everyone want to find her and want her back .Kale is acting out has his own problem he dealing with in him self .Their are new Character that are introduce ..that I like a lot. It seems that everyone in this story has their own agenda (some good, some bad, some definitely undetermined as of yet). Lots of things happen in the second half of this book and I will definitely read the next one to find out where it goes from here.
