I really enjoyed reading Strands of Fate, by author, Linda Kozar. The book starts off in Scotland, the home country of main character, Shannon McClain and her best friend, Colleen. Shannon is struggling to get by after the death of her husband. She learns that she's inherited an estate from her grandmother which she's never met. She must travel to Oregon to receive the inheritance. When frightening messages begin to arrive, Shannon realizes someone doesn't want her to get what she deserves. Koza ...more

This is part of the Creative Woman Mysteries series from Annie's Attic. Shannon, a widowed Scottish woman, learns that she's the heir of an American grandmother she never knew she had. She has to attend the reading of the will in Oregon to claim her grandmother's home and crafts business, but someone seems to be trying to prevent her from receiving her inheritance.

Light read. Two friends and a scavenger hunt (in a foreign country, no less).

A great story to kick off a new mystery series. Set in Apple Grove Oregon, Shannon comes from Scotland to find out about an inheritance from a grandmother she never knew about. She hopes to learn about her mother who she has not seen since she was 4. Before she leaves Scotland, she is warned not to go to Apple Grove.
The mystery of who doesn't want her there and who can she trust is off!

This book is just what a cozy mystery should be it keeps you guessing, has memorable characters, a great setting, and leave you wanting more. I knocked off one star because it starts off kind of slow. Definitely worth reading!

I've been reading this new series about the same characters but each book is written by a different author. It's a typical murder mystery and can get a little cheesy and predictable but a quick read and enjoyable.
