The Vinyl Cafe stories are a joy to read, but are truly best when heard read by the author Stuart McLean. The quirks and foibles of the characters, especially Dave and Morley, but also their family and friends, make them human. Some of the stories have made me laugh so much that I've cried, others have just made me cry. I also have Vinyl Cafe collections on CD, and while driving will often listen to Stuart McLean read Dave's latest "adventure".

I really liked this book and even had to stop myself from reading it so I wouldn't finish it too fast! It is a very easy read and not rocket science by any means, but it's perfect if you are in need of a couple days of funny, peculiar little short stories...

Like comfort food, you know exactly what you're getting but you always love it and want more. No surprises here - the book makes you laugh and cry in the best Stuart McLean tradition.

Every year I wait to hear about Dave and the turkey. Any chance I get to spend with Dave and Mallory is precious -- and any chance to see Stuart McLean live is to be jumped at.

Another good collection of short stories. Most funny, some touching and all with a sense of language and the spoken word that is the art of story telling.

FUN short stories. Truth is I've read two of these books but I can't remember which two. Regardless, they are light and wonderful.
