Shelves: u-s-history
A top-notch survey of early American foreign relations, with an excellent balance of details, analysis, and "big picture" observations. This book is aimed at the college textbook market (it has an appendix that includes the texts of two dozen key documents, ideal for an undergrad course on U.S. foreign policy) but it's brief and focused enough for the general reader.
