Horrid Henry strikes again! Once again, he's out to show the world what he's made of. After learning that the scary movie everyone was talking about is lame-o and far from scary, Horrid Henry decides that he can make something far more scary. Then he is forced into visiting his cousin Steve for the weekend and is terrorized by his older cousin. Horrid Henry isn't one for taking so much grief without retaliation and plots vengeance. The other two stories take place at his home and involve trickin...more

I hadn't realised that Horrid Henry books have been around for so long until I received Monster Movie and saw how many people reminisced about the beloved character. Upon finishing these 4 quick stories I can see why. Henry is a little devil and reading about the crooked situations he gets himself into was definitely interesting. I read this to my 5 year old daughter as well as my 3 year old son and I can't even count the number of times the two of...more

Three Stars: A book that features a misunderstood, mischievous boy and his misadventures.

Horrid Henry has all the bad luck! From not being allowed to see the most awesome scary movie that absolutely everyone has seen but him to having to play with Stuck up Steve and Bratty Bill who get him in trouble....Why can't he just get a grump card, his personal get out of trouble pass! His brother Perfect Peter has seven and he is so good he never uses them. Life is just so unfair for Horrid Henry!

Four wonderful tales are compiled into this easy to read chapter book. Horrid Henry has a diabolical plan to scare everyone and when they see his monster movie, people will tremble in fear. Then Henry is off to visit his aunt and his cousin Steve who always gives Henry grief where Henry manages to break a bunk bed. When Henry becomes horridly grumpy, and needs a free pass, he conspires to get one with all of his might. Then at last, Henry decides that he can eat faster than anyone and tries to...more

Just in time for Halloween, Horrid Henry gets into all sorts of trouble. Horrid Henry's Monster movie is a collection of four stories by Francesca Simon. The stories include: Horrid Henry's Monster Movie, Horrid Henry's Horrid Weekend, Horrid Henry's Grump Card, and Horrid Henry's Olympics. Each story follows the misadventures of Horrid Henry. It's fully of funny events that will leave kids giggling and probably new ideas of how to pull one over on their parents. The book contains illustrations...more
The Bumble Girl {Margie}
Horrid Henry is at it again! There is nothing that can hold this little guy back from his misadventures.
It is so much fun to get to hang out with Horrid Henry for a little while - he is such a great ball of energy that never rests and always scheming to find a way to get the things he wants the most.
Not exactly the little boy that you would want your child to play with, but, he is the perfect example to learn how to have a little bit of patience and to think before you speak - not every plan is...more

Brilliant stories, very funny and told in a simple way that kids can relate too, great drawings by Tony Ross add humour to the stories. Not too long but not to short either to belittle children.
Great for bedtime reading.

Horrid Henry books are funny - we discovered Henry on a trip to England, so we love to read him with his English accent, which makes us laugh and makes him seen even more horrid.

Henry is always coming up with more horrible ideas to get his way. The book consists of four short stories and is easily read in an evening. The funny thing about Henry is that even when he's being horrid, you want him to win, so I especially enjoyed "Horrid Henry's Horrid Weekend."

I think HH books are best enjoyed toge...more

I liked the book. Henry wants to make a scary movie. Henry has to spend the weekend with two enemies. He finally gets Grump Cards. He makes his own competitions.

Holy cow is Henry Horrid. I was going to give this book to my sister but I don't know if she'll want to read this to my niece. Ha! What a horribly horrid boy Henry is! :)

Francesca Simon was born in St Louis, Missouri, grew up in California, and attended both Yale and Oxford Universities, where she specialised in Medieval Studies. How this prepared her to write children’s books she cannot imagine, but it did give her a thorough grounding in alliteration.

She then threw away a lucrative career as a medievalist and worked as a freelance journalist, writing for the Sun...more
