Horrid Henry strikes again! Once again, he's out to show the world what he's made of. After learning that the scary movie everyone was talking about is lame-o and far from scary, Horrid Henry decides that he can make something far more scary. Then he is forced into visiting his cousin Steve for the weekend and is terrorized by his older cousin. Horrid Henry isn't one for taking so much grief without retaliation and plots vengeance. The other two stories take place at his home and involve trickin...more

I hadn't realised that Horrid Henry books have been around for so long until I received Monster Movie and saw how many people reminisced about the beloved character. Upon finishing these 4 quick stories I can see why. Henry is a little devil and reading about the crooked situations he gets himself into was definitely interesting. I read this to my 5 year old daughter as well as my 3 year old son and I can't even count the number of times the two of...more

Horrid Henry has all the bad luck! From not being allowed to see the most awesome scary movie that absolutely everyone has seen but him to having to play with Stuck up Steve and Bratty Bill who get him in trouble....Why can't he just get a grump card, his personal get out of trouble pass! Horrid Henry is at it again! There is nothing that can hold this little guy back from his misadventures.
It is so much fun to get to hang out with Horrid Henry for a little while - he is such a great ball of energy that never rests and always scheming to find a way to get the things he wants the most.
Not exactly the little boy that you would want your child to play with, but, he is the perfect example to learn how to have a little bit of patience and to think before you speak - not every plan is...more

Horrid Henry books are funny - we discovered Henry on a trip to England, so we love to read him with his English accent, which makes us laugh and makes him seen even more horrid.
Henry is always coming up with more horrible ideas to get his way. The book consists of four short stories and is easily read in an evening. The funny thing about Henry is that even when he's being horrid, you want him to win, so I especially enjoyed "Horrid Henry's Horrid Weekend."

Francesca Simon was born in St Louis, Missouri, grew up in California, and attended both Yale and Oxford Universities, where she specialised in Medieval Studies. How this prepared her to write children’s books she cannot imagine, but it did give her a thorough grounding in alliteration.
She then threw away a lucrative career as a medievalist and worked as a freelance journalist, writing for the Sun...more
