Recommends it for: all English majors
The definitive work for English majors. I've used this for my undergraduate Major British Writers I course for years, and it never disappoints. The introductions and the footnotes are priceless. It's essential for getting the feel of history and development of English literature.

Textbook for British Literature before 1800 2610 at UVU. I loved what I read. The summaries and analysis were fantastic, if not a little bit opinionated at times. I'm so glad that I bought it.
