Yup I'm definitely a sucker for the bestfriend love story and this is no different. I just fell for Sidney and Kade's story, yes life gets in the way sometimes and our own fears, worries and pride get in the way of a lot things. I love me a good best friend love story and this was just that! Lucky Break by Kelley Vitollo is an absolutely adorable read that had me flipping the pages quite quickly. I loved following Sidney and Kade's story. The little pieces of their past mixed in among the present were fabulous. The story was addicting and I never wanted to end. I loved the chemistry between Sidney and Kade, as it was hot and intense. Kelley Vitollo is an author I cannot wait to hear more from in the future!

I like the writing,the story and the pace didn't quite like Sidney though...and somehow they often felt closer to 30 then 20 that being a GOOD thing though..

It's no secret that I am a fan of author Kelley Vitollo's young adult-writing alter ego. She has such a strong affinity for writing really great character pieces. So naturally, I was curious as to whether I would enjoy her adult work as much as her previous books.

I love this Author's NA/YA books.
But this this just didn't hit the 5 stars her work normally does.
This is a friends to lovers story, which I normally love. I just had a hard time connecting to our heroine Sidney.
At times is was repetitive and felt a bit too cutesy.
With that being said though I enjoyed the hell out of Kade Mitchell!
He was great, this was my guy..
The secondary characters were pretty good as well. Aunt Mae sounds a hoot! wish she was in there a little bit more tho...more

Lucky Break reads more like a coming of age story in many ways. Sidney is an aspiring actress, but isn’t getting anywhere in her chosen career. When her boyfriend ditches her when he gets his big break, she can longer afford the apartment they share and she returns home to lick her wounds and find some fiscal sanity. As “luck” would have it, her former best friend just happens to live where she ends up, her Grandmother’s home.

Lucky Break by Kelley Vitollo was a sweet contemporary romance that I read because i have loved her YA genre books. (Nyrae Dawn) Kelley is a talented writer with believable plots and storylines. This was an easy book to read with loveable characters, beautifully descriptive prose, and a sweet love story between two people who have been 'friends forever'. Yes, the story is somewhat cliche, but it was delicious to read.

This is a sweet story about old friends finding each other again, getting over the past, and admitting mistakes made. It is not written from the perspective of either Sidney or Kade, but rather third person switching from what Sidney is doing to what Kade is doing. There is also a lot of the past being told, and this was worked seamlessly into the story so it did not feel like it jumped from one to the other. I have had the good fortune to be able to read a couple new releases from Entangled's Bliss line which focuses on uplifting and heartwarming stories and Lucky Break totally fits that description.
I didn't know going in that this line fades to black so if that's not what you're looking for then this line of books might not be for you. What I will say is that Lucky Break is a wonderfully written contemporary romance.

Lucky Break is an amazing read! Kelly Vitollo, aka Nyrae Dawn, is an even more amazing writter in the adult genre then her normal YA. Did you by any chance hated Reese's character for even a tiny bit? I did. I hated her because she came back to the small town that she left when she set out to conquer the big city. That's how I viewed the heroine of this story. She was the runaway chick who went to holywood because she just had to get away from the small town and make it big in movies, magazines etc. Unfortunately for her, she did not get to be as successful as Reese was in SHA.

I loved this from start to finish. It's a well-written heartwarming story in a beautiful setting, with lovely endearing characters and a storyline that is touching and romantic.
Sidney and Kade are great characters. Childhood best friends, both left Shamrock Falls for their own reasons at 18. Five years later and both are back. They are stubborn, feisty and are hurting from their past mistakes and with valid reasons they have a reticence when it come to romantic possibilities. I'll saying no more...more

Going back to shamrock falls isn't at all a piece of cake for Sidney. Leaving the high life of L.A Sidney returns home not expecting to run into her best friend kade, the boy she forever regrets leaving.

i looked at the cover, read the description... not only that but in listopia it was in clean romance category...
so i started reading it... it was cute and sweet.. and then they agreed on temporarily being together until she needs to return to LA.
and here i found that it wasn't as clean as i thought.. so i skipped a little.. but i wasn't planning on skipping and i wasn't in the mood.. so i just stopped it... and today i was thinking, what should i read.. i am no...more

Sidney and Kade's story is one of those sweet stories of young love that needed time to grow up. Best friends that always wanted to be more. I really felt like I understood Sidney because I've felt the need to prove myself. To do something more with my life. But I also connected with Kade because he was just a small town boy who loved where he grew up and loved the girl he grew up with. I liked the characters but would have liked to see even more depth to them. This was a short book, so you only get so much detail. I would have liked more scenes in the first half of the book (as opposed to pages of Sidney and Kade thinking about each other), but the second half made up for that. I so needed a sweet happy love story. As always, amazingly written. I was however disappointed with the ending because I wanted more and didn't want it to end ;). Excited to see where the story goes in the next book.

I am always geeked for new category romance imprints, and when I saw that Entangled was launching their Bliss line, I was eagerly awaiting my introduction to the first three books. Lucky Break is the second book from the Bliss line that I’ve read. It is a very fast read, featuring my favorite tropes – second chances and friends to lovers. I read it one sitting because I was so totally pulled into one of the best romances I've read. ~sigh~ I adored Kade and Sidney - the emotion and chemistry between them was so real and their feelings for each other so palpable, that they leapt off the page, and I felt like I was right there in the story, getting to know them and rooting for them.
