Getting accosted and kidnapped by his brother was not what she expected when she stepped out of the restaurant though, and apparently neither did Owen when he found her bound in his office leaving her jaguar no other choice but to run from the wolf.
Alpha Owen Wright knew who was waiting in his office before his brother opened his mouth to tell him what stupid thing he had done in hopes of flushing out the jaguar who had been attacking humans from the community. Gabriela was the one woman he let get away. The one he had always wanted and the one he had no clue as to why she ran from him. He had to catch her and let her know the reason why his idiot brother took her off the streets at gunpoint before she found herself in danger from the killer hiding amongst them.
Gabriela and Owen have a history that needs some details filled in but the one thing they both know, even if they only admit it to themselves, is that there is a connection between them that the miles and years apart from each other did nothing to diminish. With the stunning revelation that they had more than the severed connection between them to keep them in each other’s lives they both realize that they need to face their past if they hope to have a chance of working together to find out who was truly behind the attacks.
Sexy, fast paced, exciting and dangerous! This novella captivated me just as quickly as Ethan snagged Gabriela off the street and drew me into their plight and the emotional connection of Owen and the woman he let get away so long ago. The immediate flair of desire is evident as they briefly glimpse each other before Gabriela runs and Owen, for several reasons, follows hooking me into their story even more. I am totally diving into more Katie Reus books as soon as possible!

I loved this novella! It’s a fun quick read with great characters and some hot action, as in the sexy kind and the danger kind! As usual with books written by Katie Reus, this one was well written with an entertaining plot and likable characters. Jaguars had been attacking humans and Gabby was a jaguar shifter. When the brother of her ex-boyfriend pulled a gun, she knew it had been a mistake to come home. The last thing she wanted was to get involved with Owen Wright and his family of wolves- Owen had broken her heart when she was 16 years old and now she was taken hostage by his younger brother.

Owen and Ethan Wright were wolf shifters, and Owen had a past with Gabriela Segura. A JAGUAR’S KISS is another wonderful storyline in Katie Reus paranormal romance storylines from Nocturne Cravings and Harlequin. This particular line of shifter stories is a series of stand-alones but can be grouped together. Katie writes a fast-paced short story where the central characters have a mutual but stormy history-therefore there is no need to prolong the inevitable. I enjoy Katie’s series of short stories-they are a perfect read before you go to bed.

Returning home after too many years away Gabriela finds herself being kidnapped by one of the the local wolf pack and he is blabbering on about jaguar attacks on the locals. All Gabriela wants to do is get home and find out if what the wolf is saying is true. To check in with her family to make sure they are all okay. I have become a huge fan of Katie Reus ever since I read one of her books this summer. I have enjoyed each one and this installment is no different. I liked that the reader is brought into the story from page one. There was no wasting of time by telling the backstory regarding the h/h before you get to the good stuff. When Owen and Gabriela meet up again the reader immediately knows "this is going to be good".

Gabriela, a jaguar shifter, hasn't been home in 4 years and knows once she is there she does not want to see Owen, a pack alpha. Owen was her best friend when they were younger but after tragedy hits she just wants to relax. That doesn't seem to go as planned though. Gabriela Segura left her small town of Bear Mountain, Montana almost five years ago. Secret work for the government and a broken heart has kept her away. But after losing her entire team, it was time for Gabriela to head home and regroup, hoping to avoid the man, Owen Wright, who hurt her ten years ago. When she arrives in town, she is almost immediately taken against her will by Owen’s little brother, who thinks he can use her as leverage to find out who’s been killing innocent humans in town.

Thankfully, once Owen finds out what Ethan did, he orders Gabriela freed. The couple reunite and sparks fly, now that the two are both consenting adults and clearly ready to pick up where they left off all those years ago. Although uncertain of what their passion will lead to, the pair agree to work together to solve the mystery of the human deaths.

A Jaguar’s Kiss is an entertaining addition to Ms. Reus' HQN Nocturnal Cravings novella series. In this third story, the setting moves from Alabama to Montana, where we are introduced to the Jaguar shifter species, as well as a new wolf pack. Although the setting and characters are all new, the story takes place in the same world as the first two novellas. This book is completely stand alone.

I like that the reader is given information about Gabriela and Owen’s past in small doses throughout the story, rather than one large information dump at the beginning. For example, we learn that although she’s only been away for four (plus) years, Gabriela has not seen or spoken with her childhood best friend and first love, Owen in a decade. For a while, the reader isn’t privy what happened just at the cusp of a relationship moving beyond friends when the pair were teens. Yet in time, the truth comes out, but only when the couple is ready to deal with the past and determine if there will be a future. It is enjoyable to see how both individuals have grown and matured in their time apart.

I thoroughly delighted in the easy nature of this novella. We are given just enough history to allow for us to care about the couple and cheer on their success. And wow! are they are hot together - years of pent up sexual frustration explode. I admire that Owen and Gabriela didn't even ask "who were you with while we were apart," or get hung up on past actions. And although she is determined to stay mad - Gabriela realizes it's not worth her happiness, and she takes a risk with her heart.

The mystery of who/what is behind the killings is dealt with quickly, but satisfactorily. It's not the drive of the novella - but provides reason for the pair to work together. Additional side stories such as involvement of Gabriela’s brother and Owen's sister serve to add some depth to the shortened-length story.

After reading three of her novellas, I have to say the Ms. Reus excels at the shortened format. She understands how to give the reader just enough background to understand the situation and care for the characters. She provides a conflict that can be wrapped up by the end without feeling contrived. If you are looking for a sexy, entertaining afternoon read, look no further than A Jaguar’s Kiss.(less)

This short intrigued me, it made me want to read more about these shifters and their history. I thought the history between Owen and Gabriella was interesting. I don’t blame Gabriella for running when she overheard Owen. I was glad that she told him so that he knew why Gabriella cut him off. The rest of things went about how you thought they would. I was happy with how things ended for them.

I really love Katie Reus's writing :) She has a way of making these short little novellas satisfy your romance craving. I thought Owen and Gabriela's story was awesome, but it left me wanting so much more!

I wish the author would make her novellas into full blown novel's because they always feel so short! I swear, you blink and the book is done. This is another great book from Katie Reus. It is a Novella length and is similar to her other Cravings books. Great characters with lots of love and passion for one another. I like that there were both wolf and jaguar shifters in this one. Mixes it up a little bit. Another fun read!
